im not subcribing and liking this youtube channel. I dont want to share this gem with anyone.
I agree. You know your stuff. Matasuyama castle is top shelf too
For mt. Fuji I just wanted to see it didn't care about it too much to make the whole trip so when I took the Osaka shinkansen to Tokyo, I sat on the Mt. Fuji side (seats d&e), it was so cool to see it for a few mins while alone chillin in the train 😂
Brah, excellent episode. I spent two weeks in Japan in early February and it was amazing. Low season is ideal to avoid mass tourists. Regarding the onsens mentioned, my girl and I are heavily inked up, will they allow us to bathe? We didn’t use an onsen during this last trip because she had fresh ink. For those of you who are inked up, don’t stress visiting Japan. The locals loved our ink (especially the older people).
Great recommendations! On my last trip I saw Matsuyama Castle. That's another great one too!
Awesome recommendations, a few more ideas we saw on our last trip:
– Matsumoto castle, more original and less crowded than eg Osaka, even though the area is now picking up on tourism too
– Nakasendo trail was amazing, especially Magome, Tsumago, and Narai, which offer different perspectives on the old route
– We dropped by Shimo-kita again as well, it's always a good visit
– Osaka really surprised me. If you want a nice artist area there, go east of the train station, it's amazing and far less crowded
– There is a beautiful temple north of Lake Suwa called Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya, definitely recommended
I think Akihabara is overatted. Even during the night time it's pretty dead. I much prefer Ikebukuro. I still wanna visit Osaka castle but, I heard that Nagoya castle is much better or Himeji. I still think Matsumoto and Tsuruga castle are must sees as well.
