Japan Travel: What I’m Doing Differently in 2025 vs 2023 ❤️ #travel
Now accepting your Tokyo travel tips ✍️ 🎌 I can’t wait for our upcoming trip to Japan in September 2025! The prepping and planning are in full swing. 🗺️⁀જ✈︎ 😊
We learned a lot from our last trip in March 2023! Here are 8 things I will be doing differently on this year’s trip to Japan:
1. Visit Tower Records to look for K-pop albums. 💿 Also, go to multiple Tower Records locations. Before our last trip, it’d only been a couple of months since we’d both started branching out more into K-pop! Now, we both love K-pop so much and are STOKED to find deals & merch.
2. DON’T queue in line for food and drink. 🍜 There are plenty of places to eat that are probably just as good as any trendy spot with a long line! We definitely will be skipping the loooong lines for crepes in Harajuku — they have these places all around, and there’s nothing special about any; they’re pretty much all delicious.
3. Spend more time at cat cafes — and maybe owl and other animal cafes?! 😽 Last trip, we only had time to go to a cat cafe to fill time before our flight out, so it felt a bit rushed, especially since the drinks are unlimited once you get in. Plus, we didn’t know there’d be video games!
4. Pack WAY less so I can bring back more! 🧳 I also am considering waiting on getting a Nintendo Switch 2 until I’m in Japan and can get a universal language one for cheaper without the tariffs.
5. Spend less time on trains and other transportation. ⏰ We are choosing to stay in the Tokyo area this time, when last time we went down to Himeji and traveled back up.
6. I need to do a REALLY good job at preparing my body and mind for LOTS of walking and long days. 🚶🏻♀️I am determined to have more stamina this time!
7. Perform more karaoke now that we know the nuances of the machines. 🎤 We were struggling to put the karaoke machine into English at first.
8. Be more confident in speaking Japanese. ㊙️ It’s been 2.5 years since our last trip, so we’ve had time to practice!
So, are you traveling to Japan soon, or have you been there before? 🤔 Let me know your must-know Japan travel tips before my trip this fall! 🍁
