🥚👀Will this Japanese egg make you live 7 years longer? Boiled in the volcanic hot springs and turned black by sulfur, who actually knows if they extend your life, but they taste normal at any rate 🤣
🌋Owakudani is the area around a crater caused by Mount Hakone’s last eruption 3000-ish years ago. Still an active volcanic area, you can see steam rising from the ground and smell sulfur in the air.
🚶There are walking trails (paid, will close if it’s windy), interesting (touristy but sometimes good) food, and cool sights!
👥It does get crowded here, so if you can come on a weekday or something, that will definitely help!
🚠Owakudani is accessible along the Hakone Ropeway (included in the Hakone Free Pass), or by car.
