  2. Lots of good info in this video! Regarding medications, even if a drug is legal in the vistor's country and they have a prescription, it may still be illegal to bring it into Japan. Possession of such medications could even result in jail time. It's important to check whether your prescribed drugs are allowed in Japan. If they are not, you can apply for a 'Yunyu Kakunin-sho,' which is an import certificate that permits travelers to bring in certain prescribed medications. Be sure to apply for this certificate at least a few weeks before your trip.
