See you
Too early for Sakura but don't miss Ume trees.
When my wife got her US citizenship she immediately went to the Philippines consulate in LA and got her citizenship back.

It is the policy of Philippine immigration for years now. Please do not use titles like this which puts the immigration dept in a somewhat unsavory light. The Philippine govt and immigration dept has been top notch in welcoming foreigners into the Philippines. It is more an oversight on your part for not paying attention to your paperwork and status. Thanks and keep on keeping on.
Yes that is true that when you get naturalized and got your Canadian Citizenship, you actually lose your other nationalities (like the Philippines). In order to get it back you have to re-apply in your countries (previous nationalities) embassy or consulate. It is an easy path back to being Dual Citizens. I did it myself once I got mine in 2005 (Canada) it took me long before I did it 2022 (Philippines). But it is also possible for other Filipinos that has an issued Philippines passport, even though their parents did not re-apply for dual citizenship. As long as you keep your old Philippines passport you can apply for your self.
I hope you are enjoying Japan …
and good luck with your future visa plans Bianca.
As it is, the Philippines has one of the most generous tourist visas in the world, many go to Thailand for a week or even Singapore for a weekend to reset it.
And being based in Manila there is more chance of getting the long term extension, unlike regional B.I offices where they might limit the extension to three months at a time only.
I wouldn’t give up your Canadian citizenship for a Filipino one unless the Philippines is where see yourself settling for good. The passport is incredibly weak and the social services are non existent. You have a lot of access to Western embassies and services with a Western Passport that are non existent with a Filipino one. Repatriation…Rescue… Stuff hits the fan… Yes, you can reapply for your original country to be a duel citizen. It’s not immediate though and real work. The process is similar for US Filipino citizens….
If you get married again, 13A is path to permanent residency…With your platform I am sure they have an entertainment industry one…Your channel is above 100K which is the standard in the States I believe…Philippines copies a lot of our policies and is heavily influenced by American bureaucracy. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same…

You don't become a Filipino by just getting born in the Philippines. Your parents or one must have Filipino citizenship as well.
