This forgotten Japanese Port Town is rising again — But How?
Do you want to explore Japan beyond the main tourist sites? Today, join us in Japan’s Hokuriku region, exploring Mikuniminato in Fukui Prefecture, a port town that used to rival the likes of Yokohama and Osaka. What does the town look like today, and what can you do here?
While this isn’t one of Japan’s most visited destinations, you’d be surprised to discover how many things there are to do here. This is a perfect destination for foodies, with offerings ranging from gourmet French cuisine to incredibly comforting seafood street foods like sweet shrimp croquette. We also learned about its unique architecture, painted paper lamps by hand and stayed in an incredibly stylish lodging in a renovated townhouse.

That intro music!?! Someone a "Why Files" fan at Japan by Food? 😜
😍❤️
Whoa this place is pretty cool! It's also only an hour and 20 minutes from Kanazawa station!
I love that you feature these charming quiet places – people need to know about such places in order to get away from the "usual" stops.
Auberge Hotel looks amazing! Great tour guide. Drooling over that crab….. Shizuka is best girl and very talented in lantern making!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Having your own indoor pathway is kind of cool.

Curious about the surfing culture in Japan, imagine surfers from Tofino or Toronto travelling to Japan to surf.. any food and surfing tours?

Rural people everywhere on earth are some of the friendliest humanity have to offer.

Japan is really an introverts dream. You don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. But, if you're respectful in all the ways, people will be happy to help you out and even become friendly.
One of the great things about Japan. Fine dining restaurants in the middle of nowhere.
After re-watching Slam Dunk again. I want to visit Kamakura kokomae and take a photo of it. And visiting Rain on The Roof cafe in Sangen Jaya (Yongen Jaya in Persona 5) which is close to Persona 5 Le Blanc
This looked like a great trip! It looks like my kind of place to visit! Thank you for sharing!
Glad to see these lesser-known parts of Japan being shown. Really makes me want to visit them.
The last video you said you had a boyfriend I almost turned it off
I love seeing these less popular locations!
