  1. For real. In Japan 🇯🇵 n America 🇺🇸 difference with one's area or people I guess

  2. I can’t stand it when people are big headed, boast & outright lie. Someone I worked with just popped into my memory, she’d claim other’s work was hers 😤 if she did something wrong she’d try blaming someone else

  3. Japanese are humble and moderate things… if u see a Tabelog rating of 3.5 star is a very good restaurant whereas is considered mediocre by Google and TripAdvisor standards

  4. While I totally agree with this, however, every company is looking for FAANG level engineer with the salary 4-5 times less than FAANG willing to pay. And some yamamoto kaishya is looking for 10+year experience engineer with business level japanese and paying only 6-7 million, of course they gonna get someone who is lying on CV.

  5. Please don’t say all westerners are the same.
Americans and Nordic people are vastly different.
Americans way more arrogant compared to Nordic people who act humble on job interview and honest.

  6. I love watching Paolo's videos. He provides a lot of insight to those outside of Japan.

I know this isn't the point of the video and I love the country in almost every way, but considering the fact that there are still a significant number of black companies out there (companies that exploit their employees to long-working hours, unpaid overtime, harrassment, etc.), makes me even more grateful where I'm at now.

  7. ya i don't think this is really true about the US. most of the time workers in America under promise deliverables. that way we can manege exceptions and include time for when stuff goes wrong, which it will. (only sales people and middle mangers really over promise because someone else is doing the real work)

  8. agreeed… and that goes for everything. and doing this makes it harder for the next foriegner

  9. also heard there's companies that make you say ohayou gozaimasu out loud when starting which guess is only time it's ok to speak loud

  10. I wish I could speak and read Japanese fluently

Being half deaf makes it difficult to catch all the sounds

    Any advise?

  11. This should stand true in any country! 😅 I hate having to cover for someone who "doctored" their resume just to score a job, especially if there's plenty of people within the company to fill that role.

  12. Is there a difference between Business Japanese and the N levels? Like N2 is lower than N1 and N1 is lower than Business Level ?
