I’ve put a list of some of the best Tokyo sakura (cherry blossom) viewing spots to get you in the mood for spring. For 2026, Japan Meteorological Corporation (JMC)’s most recent forecast for Tokyo puts first bloom on March 21, with the best sakura viewing times right around March 29.

Some sakura varieties bloom earlier or later than the common varieties and in case you won’t be here at peak time, we’ve included some cool options for late and early blooming sakura spots too.
