Japan’s Biggest Retro Vending Machine Wonderland – Over 100 Machines πŸ” 🍭 🍜 πŸ₯€

I visited the vending machine theme park in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture.
I’ve been there a few times before, but I decided to go again since it seemed like new vending machines had been added.

  1. They should offer toppings like pickles and onions for the burgers.
I have seen coke machines like that before. They used to be everywhere when I was a kid. There were more bottle vending machines than there were can vending machines where I grew up. And yes it does taster better in the glass bottle. It holds it's carbonation better than the plastic bottles, plus it doesn't leach stuff like the plastic ones do.

  2. It is cold and rainy in Alabama USA and the soba noodles look really good . I want to try one of those hamburgers from the machine !!

  3. The keychain character is similar to the late cajun chef, Paul Prudhomme, whom was on television in the United States and sold spices.

  4. We will be visiting the beautiful Japan in March. I am hiring a car while it tokyo (hotel has car parking space woo) so will make this drive this time. My third visit there. My partners 2nd. ❀

  5. Would really like to try these machines one day, again the convenience is just perfect for a cheap, quick, and delicious meal.

  6. I would like to go there to see these machines and eat. Not gonna happen, so I'll have to live vicariously through all of you, who can.

  7. Every time I watch your videos I always hope to get my passport, a flight ticket, and hurry over to try the delicious foods and see the lovely sights. I have been trying to learn Japanese so I can use the trains and buses.

  8. I just made curry and seeing how good the one from the vending machine looks is making me consider making another batch!

  9. That hamburger vending machine is pretty old and has to either be from the 60's or 70's. The count-down display for the cook timer is using what's called Nixie Tubes to show the time. So seeing it functional and still serving quick burgers is nice to see. πŸ™‚

  10. I am Japanese. I miss it very much.
I am 49 years old now. I ate this vending machine hamburger many times when I was a child.
There weren't many hamburger shops in Japan yet, and there weren't many convenience stores either, so my father would buy these for me when we would drive to the countryside.
Then my parents divorced and I didn't see my father for a while😒
    Thanks for the introduction.
I'm going to go here next timeπŸ˜ƒ

  11. I love the burger machine at around the 4:30 mark. The warming timer uses original Nixie tubes which are quite rare these days (though they are being manufactured on a small scale again). I love vending machines and these retro ones are fascinating to m,e. Thank you very much for this video!

  12. My husband and I ABSOLUTELY went to Japan based very much on what I had seen on your channel!! We left our tour group, hired a car, drove for almost 2 hours to Kanagawa and had an amazing time! I had the soba noodles – my husband had the hamburger and curry! Such a brilliant experience for us – we LOVE anything pop culture ….. thank you so much @experiencejapan! Japan was amazing!

  13. Every time someone goes to visit this vending machine place, he has more machines. I'm happy that he cares for them, because they are fun. Thank you for visiting and showing them off.

  14. Oh lol they just keep adding the vending machines out into the parking lot. I guess they've given up with the shelters.

You only tie the omijugi up if you don't want the (usually bad) curse on it. So no one million subs for you! (You're supposed to take the good fortune with you.)

  15. No footage of beers or saki. Did you actually buy them? Gotchapon looked amazing but you didn't review them

  16. Few fun facts about the machines you tried:
The curry machine actually opens a packet of instant curry for you inside and pours it on a bowl of rice. It's a mystery how they manage to keep the rice not dried out or spoiled.
The popcorn vending machine probably detected that it is not functioning properly, so it tried to give it some more time to compensate for it (which it couldn't complete the cycle because the microwave is broken), and then just gave up and gave you an unpopped pouch instead.
The omikuji machine has a doorbell inside. A classic, non-electronic, electric doorbell with two plates inside that is knocked on with a set of solenoid coils.

  17. You must really love ❀️ those burgers πŸ”πŸ˜Š.
Oh also there was A KODAK MACHINE πŸ“Έ!!!!!! I can't wait to visit 😭
And Cola Man, if I have something made for you, how do I find you?
… because I already have this whole 'Missing, Have you seen the Cola Man?' flier ready πŸ˜…

  18. Life in those days must be amazing!!! am not lucky to experience those!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Hi. Let me start by saying my wife and I really enjoy your videos. We've learned a lot. I did want to help you by explaining that you are misusing the term "retro." A retro vending machine would be a new vending machine that is designed to look like it is old. The vending machines that are actually old should be referred to as "vintage" as vintage means it is actually old. Again we love your videos so please keep them coming.

  20. I was fortunate enough to go to Japan October of last year. Unfortunately I didn't see any retro vending machines. Best thing I got from a vending machine was fresh orange juice in Osaka.

  21. Was here over a month ago. We ate like crazy and filled our stomachs on our way from Kofu city to Kawasaki.

  22. At 16:01 πŸ˜‚ yes, yes it most certainly is
I remember watching someone interview the owner of this vending machine paradise, maybe Chris Broad? It was a number of years ago. The owner really takes great care of his vending machines and it's costly to do so.
