So happy to see you today!
Well, that was an enjoyable, bumpy trip. The food looked really nice. The decor was "busy" for my taste, but I got the design era. I don't understand why you must pay extra because you are travelling alone. Now, if the train was packed and they wanted to maximize butts in the seats, okay, because that compartment looked like it was designed for four people. Just because you want to travel upscale and not in what I call "Cattle Class" is unfair. They can sell more seats then. Ask if you want to pay extra or don't mind having some travelling company. And yes, the trip was pricey regardless.
Gorgeous! How do you find these lovely luxury train journeys?
Thank you STJ. But, for $238, the curry needs to be !! Nice views and very relaxing.
With those palm trees it reminds me of Florida or California more than japan
20:01 If you listen very carefully, you can hear it floating over the waves 🙂
I’m subbed to your food channel but I didn’t know you had a main channel
I hope you were able to enjoy some chicken nanban in Miyazaki as well. Lovely video!
Love to see new vids from Solo, particularly these specialty trains!
Lovely décor and meal, I love the woodwork in the compartments.
That must be old track they're running on to have that characteristic 'clack-clack' as you run over the expansion joints. New track doesn't have those and is thus much smoother and quieter.
I agree. I don't thinkvit was wirth the price. Sake in a paper cup!?!?😱
Why did you have to mention the sunflower song at the end??! Now I won’t be able to sleep and will have nightmares. 😬
Beautifully appointed train cars! You should have brought your Mother or Father for the longer ride!
I love placemats, yours on this trip is especially beautiful.
Rail tracks need overhaul
Agreed – sake should never be served in a paper cup unless it’s a cheap hot sake. But a Junmai Daiginjo??? Never! 👎😮
Your never going to top the original curry on "Sunflower?", it was a buffet restaurant and you went back for a second bowl of rice and it was a family size bowl of rice to have with the curry.
Nice trip
The scenic views from your window were beautiful and varied but the bumpy ride must have been uncomfortable to experience while eating such a beautiful meal. Your compartment was cozy, cheerful and warm. The chicken curry looked portioned to be but a free sample size. Thought the same thing about the price being too much for just yourself.
Beautiful train!
I love these japan trains ❤❤❤❤❤
What a beautiful Bento box. The food looked delicious 🎉🎉🎉 0:53
Very nice ride. A little shaky but that is part of the experience charm. Love the countryside.
Yay, a video from Solo-san! I enjoy seeing local sites, but it had been a while since I'd seen a travel video, and those are my favorite. Thank you! 🙂
Okay, I really have to learn not to watch these things when I'm hungry.
Interesting presentation.
What a gorgeous train! Sucks a bit that it was slow, but it gives you time to enjoy the scenery and food (if you don’t get motion sickness of course). I absolutely love that you’re covering lots of the Kyushu trains because they’re really cool, and I think that more tourists will be inspired by others like you.
Also, do you know how many times I get the Sunflower song stuck in my head? Lots. It’s my favourite flower so I can hear that song almost every time I see one. Anywho…thanks Solo-san and see you next time!
I was wondering about the name of the train, but thankfully you immediately explained. The train looks beautiful and the bento box delicious. However, for me, the journey would be too long (in Shinkansen, it would be less than one hour). And serving sake with a paper cup or curry in a plastic bowl are "no go" for me, in this kind of luxury train.
you are consciousness sui generis & priceless
we enjoy & admire your inspiring & insightful videos

Your meal looked so fresh and appetizing. Interior of train so warm and inviting. Thank you for sharing your travels STJ. May your journeys be great 🤗

Sunflower, sunflower…
Such a beautiful train interior! The many patterns and textures compliment each other. Thank you for mentioning the name of the designer (Eiji Mitooka), as I am now looking for more of his work. I enjoy your videos greatly!
Those cushioned seats in your seating area kinda reminded me of the kind of seats I saw in a couple of different teahouses I went to. I was halfway expecting them to serve you a full British style tea service!
Lovely , but $$$$😳

Great trip. This train route is combining Airport Train with Regular Train and Luxurious Train all in one trainset. That curry on Snack category rather than meal category is bit weird, but when i see the portion, I know why.
The birds have taken over the station, it belongs to them now
Almost like Trans Siberian train 1st class wagons.
I am sorry, the swaying made me feel unwell. I enjoyed the part I could watch. Thank you.
Hello my friend I love the beautiful interior and the bento box looked delicious. Its a shame about the curry .Thanks for the video kind regards from Australia ❤
Commenting for the algo: As many bento's as I've seen you enjoy, I'm afraid that if it were me I would have collected all the bamboo boxes and crafted them into decorator boxes for my home lol. It's good to see you again. Have a great day! 🙂
Paper cups, plastic bowls, and wood spoons. For that price i'd expect a bit more. Nevertheless a great and enjoyable video. Thanks for taking us along.
5 and half hours to go 120 miles, slow train to Oita.
Beautiful train and journey. As soon as you said Sunflower song it popped into my head and now I am singing it at my desk lol Have a wonderful day. 🙂
