RETURN TO GENSOKYO – The Four Shrines of Lake Suwa
We return to the town of Suwa in Nagano, Japan where it’s said Gensokyo would exist in the real world. Steeped in tradition and mystique, this land has more to teach us than we’ve yet realized.
Join LunarSpotlight for a day filled with exploration and adventure as we attempt to visit all four of Japan’s famous “Suwa Grand Shrines” which—aside from having links to the Touhou Project video game series—represent some of the oldest in the nation.

Final thoughts – It's kino.
A combination of beauty, information, and a very strong moral about truly getting to know the country you are visiting, which is something we absolutely need in an era of insensitive and selfish tourists ruining everything they touch.
I… No… We all truly needed this documentary.
Keep cooking, Lunar. You are a talented man.
This was a really beautiful video. My friends and I are planning a Japan trip for late 2025, I'm going to suggest we take a trip around lake Suwa for a day like you did now. Thank you for the inspiration!
