I joined the â±2518/pax Takayama + Shirakawago Klook Group Tour (from Nagoya) and was able to explore this famous village at Shirakawago.
Most houses were converted to shops, restaurants, galleries, etc. Some residential ones remain, with cords around them- meaning they were off limits and guests must not cross the line.
It was very pleasant walking around, tho we had limited time, I had fun seeing the houses up close. They were beautiful indeed.
