Takamatsu Castle, now known as “Tamamo Castle,” was built in 1587 under the direction of a warlord named Chikamasa Ikoma.
Later, Takamatsu Castle was renovated by Yorishige Matsudaira, a descendant of the Tokugawa family, in the early Edo period, but the castle’s symbolic keep was torn down in 1884 due to its dilapidation. The absence of the keep has lasted for 140 years.
To enter this park, visitors must pay an admission fee, which is priced at only 200 JPY whether they are Japanese or foreign tourists.
