Fruit is one of Fukushima’s biggest exports and there’s something to be plucked from the trees in any season – so much so there’s an entire district of Fukushima City called the Fruit Kingdom, or Fruit Line, where over 20 orchards crowd one section of the city.
This is Marusei Orchard in the heart of the Fruit Line, where you can pick all-you-can-eat peaches for 30 minutes in their gigantic eight-hectare orchard. There’s also a cafe selling peach parfaits and ice creams on a shady veranda outside, and there’s a huge shop selling juices, snacks and the best produce from the peach trees.
