The most euphemistic title in Abroad in Japan Podcast history, due to the threat of demonetisation. BUT YOU GET THE IDEA.
I mean they wanted more babies and now they are punishing the few couples that are able to make it that far?
Still worried about Pete's missing Bogglin😢
We need an update on Natsuki!
Austrian here (not in his 60s though) who has been too Japan several times – I'm sorry (bonus German fitting word of the day: "fremdschämen") for my fellow contrymen who behave weirdly and don't respect Japanese customs… (or just use plain common sense before deciding to have sex in the open…)
Last year when I was travelling Japan for 3 weeks there were smoking booths on the Shinkansen. When I returned for a longer trip this year, the smoking booths had all been closed and/or removed. The booths are still available on some platforms, but not the train itself. It was a mild disappointment, as I had previously used the time to chat to locals and practice my pidgin Japanese skills.
I did a 9-day-long version of Kumano Kodo this year and most accommodation you might book has washing machines even in remote areas.
It sounds like Detective Shota was just bored and wanted to get to do something for once. 😅
Austrians doing austrian things.
I did forgot a sling bag that I bought at bigcamera, in bigcamera, afer looking for it everywhere I went back to the shop and asked for it, they told me they had found a bag and started to asked me about content, colours of the bag and the slingbag etc, to be fair a give quite a lot fo wrong info as I did saw the bag only when I bought the item and forgot it like 10 minutes later in the shop, however because I did mention where exactly i bought it (was one of the other retailers on the top part of the building thou) and the bloody content of the shopping bag was a sling bag then they agree to handing over to be not after I show my passport give ma contact details just incase someone else claim it later.

Detective Shota just did his job, making sure it was truly his wallet… I mean, Westerners sometimes may look as indistinguishable in person to them as many Asians do to us.
Police can be weird
Coffee + Tea mixed together is called Cham in Malaysia. It's actually pretty good
I think you should continue saying BBC (leaving out that it's short for Broad Bro Chris)
Always great to hear news from Japan!
They closed down the smoking areas of the shinkansens. Theyre still there, but theyre cloaed and therea a sign that says theyre permanently closing them.
austrian gang represented!!
I don't think he's the biggest shame of austria, I think there's another historical figure that might qualify a tadbit more lol
what shrine?
Dt. Shouta likes german sausages but what about austrian?
10:46 — I lost my tuque/beanie in the Shinkansen during my vacation and had somewhat a similar experience trying to retrieve it from the lost and found section of Shinkansen. It happened that the tuque ended in Hakata while I was visiting Kyoto. After giving all the info that I could remember of the Shinkansen train number and name, the wagon #, the seat #, the time, the colour of tuque, etc. To the staff of Shinkansen's lost and found section, they confirmed finding my tuque but they gave me only 2 options to retrieve my lost object: 1) go to Hakata to claim it in person or 2) ask a Japanese friend or a friend with resident certificate to call and get it back to me. Through a friend of a friend, I was able to get my tuque back but this friend had to go through a barrage of questions from the staff of Shinkansen's lost and found. I was dumbfounded by the shear amount of questions while I already gave a lot of details. Anyway, it was quite an experience going through the Japanese bureaucracy (if one can call it this way) for a lost item. 😅
Just type "laundry" in English into Google Maps. They all come up.
When I visited USJ I forgot my phone in one of the rides lockers. The staff of that same ride had it in the office but refused to let me touch it before I filled out three forms and wrote down the model, make, color AND color of the cover of the phone!
i watched 8 ads in 6 minutes into the video i hate YouTube
Hey Caveman Chris and Prehistoric Pete 🦖
What ever happened to the Cat with the unfortunately shaped Moustache?
You may have mentioned this before but I'm curious. He was my favourite reoccurring guest on Abroad in Japan. Even more than Ryotoro and Pete. You can decided which Pete
Banging a Japanese woman at a shrine? Sounds kinda hot. lol Don't know about in the middle of the day, besides the fact that people could easily see you, but it's fucking hot and humid outside. lol
This dude to the police, Do what you must, I have already won. LOL
