  1. We had great experiences with cabbies in Dublin and London. They are very regulated there and we felt better using them than going with some stranger in an Uber. They also have a cabbie app that’s almost exactly like Uber to make it even easier. Saved my poor 11 year olds little legs.

  2. My rule is never to go where someone is calling you in. Also, walk a few blocks from a major tourist attraction before eating or shopping.

  3. Chris 🇨🇦 Vancouver Ive never been scanned. I keep all money and valuables in my front pockets. Secured tightly. I never bother with strangers. Ive traveled all over the world. Its extremely easy to stay out of a scamm. Keep wits about you and you will be fine.

  4. In Singapore airport when you are about to leave the airport after arriving, there are people trying to entice you to book and pay in advance a return taxi fair – telling you that the hotel will charge you much more if you book a taxi through the hotel. Total scam and lies. You are at the mercy of one specific taxi to arrive instead of having hundreds around, the hotel does not get any commission from ordering a taxi for you and the fair from the scammers is significantly higher.

  5. Also, about 6 years ago in beautiful Salzburg, there were beggars that sit in a twisted way to look like they were born deformed and ask for money. In Paris, a young women threw a gold wedding ring on the floor when she was passing next to us. We though she dropped it by mistake and immediately picked it up and tried to give it to her. She refused over and over again saying that is a gold ring which is a gift for my son when he gets married. We did not want to take it but she refused to take it back and then started asking for money for the favour of giving us a "gold" ring. I gave her but she started chasing after me to ask for more.

  6. I had a 2 young girls in Paris try get us to sign the petition, it was literally a piece of paper glued to cardboard.. not even on a clipboard

  7. I don’t think I ever was scammed. Or it was so clever that I didn’t notice it.😅
Regarding transportation: I usually take public transport. In the rare case I don’t I either order by App (Uber, Grab,…) or from the Hotel.

A potential Public Transport scam though (they tried it in NYC): group of young guys in a city subway stop who wanted my Metro Card because I wouldn’t need it anymore. Except you do need it again for that Air Train.
Maybe not so relevant nowadays as you can just pay with credit card and don’t need the metro card anymore

  8. I could be wrong, but I think New York has made it illegal to sell CDs to tourist. I was just there in April didn’t see any
