Hey everyone, Ojisan here! Can you believe it’s already day 13 of our journey in Japan? It’s 9:20 in the morning, and we’ve got a bright, sunny day ahead of us. Just look at that clear blue sky! Today, we’re heading to Uminonakamichi, a massive seaside park in Fukuoka. We planned this visit for a sunny day so we could get some great pictures. We’re currently walking to Hakata Station to catch our train, but we’re pretty hungry since we haven’t had any breakfast yet. So, before we start our big adventure, let’s find something to eat near the station. We have decided to stop at MOS Burger, a popular Japanese burger chain. I’ve got a fish burger, and kanai(*wife in Japanese) is having a chicken burger. Now that we have had our breakfast, we’re ready to hop on the train to Uminonakamichi. It’ll take about 35 minutes and two trains to get there from Hakata Station. First, we’ll take the Kagoshima Line to Kashi Station and then switch to a train bound for Uminonakamichi Station. Make sure to follow the signs carefully so you don’t end up on the wrong train! At Kashii Station we noticed that it’s getting pretty windy. Hopefully, the weather stays sunny. We can see the sand, so we must be getting close to the sea. Finally, we’ve arrived at Uminonakamichi! Let’s head to the entrance and grab our tickets. Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is a huge leisure park on a narrow peninsula across the bay from central Fukuoka. The park has different areas, including flower gardens, playgrounds, sports fields, a water park, a zoo, and plenty of open spaces for picnics. This place is especially famous for its seasonal flowers, with millions planted throughout the park. This park is nearly four kilometers from end to end, which is a lot to cover on foot. Thankfully, there’s a network of cycling trails, and you can rent bicycles at various spots. We’ve got ourselves a tandem bike for two people for three hours, costing 1500 yen. It’s a fun way to explore, and it even has a place to put your bag in the front. The wind is really picking up now, and there’s a dark cloud overhead. It would be ironic if it rains just after we rented this bike! Okay, First stop: the zoo! On our way, we stumbled upon a beautiful flower area with cherry blossoms in the background, so of course, we had to take some pictures. Now, we’ve reached the zoo. You can’t just park your bike anywhere here; there are designated spots for that. Make sure to lock it and take the key with you. Just as we enter, it starts to drizzle. Just our luck, right? And we don’t have an umbrella. Hopefully, it stops soon. For now, it’s just a light rain, so it’s not too bad. Check out the kangaroos! This is our first time seeing them in real life. The capybaras are adorable Look at the flamingos, too bad that they’re kept inside. Our three hours are up, so we’ve returned the bike. Time flies here! Next, we’re continuing on foot to see the Nemophila flower hill, a colorful garden by the pond, and an open-air flower museum that looks like ancient ruins. Now it’s time for us to head back. We’re exiting through this place called Canal Water Fountain with a structure called Sky Shelter ahead. The lawns here are maintained by robots, which is super cool. We’ll continue our journey in the next video by exploring the street food area in Fukuoka along the river. Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. See you in the next video!
