[Music] [Music] he [Music] [Applause] [Music] welcome welcome welcome welcome to the ninja monkey Sunday stroke Monday stream depending where you are in the world let me know in the comment section where you’re watching from by the way what’s your weekend been like I want to know it all I want to know it all for those of you who are new I just want to double check that the sound is working and that let’s put a little bit of music not too loud just a little bit in the background so you can hear me and I think that everything is running smoothly please let me know if there’s any problems I will be checking but um for those of you who are new or probably um return viewers you know exactly how it goes this is a Sunday stream where basically on Monday stream where basically I try to try to answer your Japan travel um questions for those those of you who are new I’m Nathan I am ninja monkey or happy gin I have a second channel for those of you who don’t know and I’m actually very close to hitting the 1,000 subscriber Mark so please help me out and subscribe to my second Channel I’m like 8 or nine people away from from hitting the 1,000 um mark and it would be very cool if I can do that before my my trip but um yeah so up above it says at ninja monkey guy a right question my aim is to try to answer your questions um I am a return tourist to Japan I’ve been to Japan many many times I travel to Japan as a tourist um multiple times a year at this point and my aim is to create content as a tourist for tourists or for people who want to travel to Japan thinking about going to to Japan or planning a trip to Japan um my point of view and my take on things might be a little bit different to those people who live in the country I’m not saying that they don’t have good things to say they absolutely do but there nothing like the perspective of a tourist um who who um gets to Japan fresh and has to experience things a little bit differently you know what I mean so let’s get started it’s great to see so many of you here and I think that everybody says that the audio is okay oh and by the way Happy Father’s Day to everyone all you father fathers out there thank you so much for being awesome people um yeah and Jaan Jaan just posted the the link to my second Channel he’s always trying to remind me to to um plug it so I’m plugging it at the very beginning so let’s get started okay we got some questions to start with it’s from Jennifer who says oh this is a little bit of a difficult question I have to say which temples would you recommend in Kyoto Osaka and Tokyo if you would prefer smaller crowds um I think that I would in Kyoto I would head to um the Philosopher’s path there are some temples and shrines along that path um that you might enjoy although I find that Kyoto is very difficult to find peace and quiet but you do you can you can um and really when it comes to Osaka and Tokyo you really need to go off the beaten path and you really need to go out of the way even Kanda um Shrine in akiabara if you haven’t watched my akiabara um guide put it out a few days ago um I feature Kanda Shrine from akiabara and that Shrine or that Temple isn’t as busy as some of the other temples but but um worth a trip definitely and I would suggest um heading out why why not go to the main shrines and temples that everybody wants to go to in Kyoto Osaka and and Tokyo and just head out to other places where less people visit that’s what I would do personally rather than than um specifically look for places that are Qui question in October I will go to hak Hokkaido awesome among other regions I will spend nights in saporo nice netu nice and hakodate awesome I love those places is there a must do in those cities also any Seafood recommendations okay perfect because um I went to those places specifically a few years back you can look back in my backlog of videos and you’ll find some vloggy style um stuff for Ninja monkey from from nosu from hakodate from saporo and I would say that um first of all saporo the beer the the the sapoto B museum is pretty cool um there’s a few really interesting like European style architectural buildings are pretty cool including uh a church with a very interesting clock if I remember right um I would also recommend that you add um otaru which is a really great day trip from saporo I would recommend that you add that to your list netsu is a hot spring town so definitely do your hot springy staff to onen in for goodness sake and hakodate has one of the of Japan’s top night views you know the Japanese they like to make lists like Japan’s top three views and then they also have Japan’s top top night views and hakodate supposedly has one of the top um night views so that’s one of the things that I would recommend there’s also a very interesting um food place in in hakodate which is known for its Burgers completely random Jolly pariot I think it’s called something like that you’ll have to watch it in my in my um Vlog it’s quite old plenty to do and see in those places Jim Ross I can’t find an aired space suit for summer travel in Japan that will accommodate my hat any suggestions interested but I have one subscription to give each of your channel I will highlight um super chats and super stickers and that kind of thing first and I will also highlight anybody who’s a member or a patron I try to to answer those questions first if I can so Jim I can’t find an air conditioned used space suit for summer travel in Japan that will accommodate my hat any suggestions I’m sorry but I have but I have one subscription to give each of your channels dude I do appreciate it so much thank you especially now that we are three weeks away three weeks away guys from a trip going to be in Japan for six weeks bringing you all sorts of live streams and I’m sure interesting content along the way so much appreciated um let’s see and um Japan Japan Japan helping out with a question there answering question good afternoon Walt how you doing from Birmingham awesome Bojo from Texas Logan from UK Grant from the UK oh we have quite a few people from the UK here today awesome awesome awesome okay Texas also hey go wer how you doing hey from the 40 degrees Celsius what the heck you”ll be pretty ready for summer in Japan then 6: a.m. in Australia wow that’s quite early thanks for what good morning how you goas maning Tigers indeed indeed I’ve been wearing this all day it’s a bit actually I was going to do this to complete my my um wait a minute have we got it right I was going to complete my my look by adding this you know just for for giggles and for being super japanesey like YouTuber person um hey human how you doing Happy Father’s day indeed to everyone yes and it’s Father’s Day here also in in the UK in in Great Britain 6° celius in Australia really where okay thanks for the for the recommendations there of some Qui shrines K Kamakura from Tokyo lots of temples with no crowds yes Jess I think that is that is Jesse I think that’s a really good idea for those of you who do want to get away from from shrines kak Kamakura um that station there’s a good three maybe four temples which are incredibly beautiful incredibly Grand and um they they line the the route on the way to Kamakura to the main temple in Kamakura so you can do those and at the same time you know do a little bit of a trip and go to Kamakura and do the the great Buddha so thanks I for forgotten about that also also don’t forget that it’s also very much um dependent on when you you visit temples and shrines for example Asaka is very busy very very busy potentially one of the busiest places in Tokyo but head in heading there quite early in the morning and later in the evening maybe things are sh but you can get the place pretty much to yourself or with a far less people so you need to consider that too Hokkaido is pretty pretty cool and Co coexist I want to go back I’ve been saying it for ages but I just um have so many other places to see let’s see hi from Southern California first time for this in Japan in September and staying for 26 days in Tokyo nice trying to plan day trips to other areas thank you for all your advice and tips awesome you know what I would say there um I would actually recommend if it’s 26 days 26 days just in Tokyo not to say that you cannot do it but I would highly highly recommend that you may be you know do a a Tokyo um a Tokyo sandwich and that you start in Tokyo maybe if you don’t want to do like a lot of traveling you could potentially just do the one one location away somewhere like um if you don’t want to do Kyoto and Osaka that area then um somewhere like um like Sendai will make for a great spot for two or free nights where you can then if you wanted to visit places like modoka that wouldn’t be too far away um yamad and um and matsushima Bay um and when it comes to things to do in Tokyo you have so many things to do so um day trips to other areas there’s plenty of day trips to do but I think that um that they might be a little bit Limited in terms of um of exploring extensively ooh this is really cool the they’ve changed the studio now and I can actually see like your comments speaking to people neck ice rings I want to see I want to see um um Jim with a frozen cowboy hat I think that’s a Way Forward I’m flying back home from Narita on Tuesday evening dude what are you doing watching this if you are in Japan is it okay to go back to Tokyo on Monday I’m afraid of canceled trains going back to Tokyo and missing my flight um yeah that should be fine I think it all depends if you’re leaving on Tuesday evening and you’re going back to Tokyo on Monday that gives you a whole day right so I I would say that you pretty much that you’re pretty much okay there 44 days until your trip nice that’s like nothing I don’t know why my my watches will I die one of those black eggs from Aon no those black eggs actually are pretty good those Sentry eggs or like um hot spring eggs or whatever they’re called they are actually quite quite delicious with some salt on them I really do like them they just taste like normal boiled eggs really happy Father’s Day from the mile high city really where is the mile high city I don’t even know where the mile high city is sorry I was rescanning some of my old photos from hon this weekend from the pre-digital camera days those were the days right my wife and I are planning a trip to Tokyo in January but we might cancel with the election happening at that time it’s supposed to be crazy um I wouldn’t worry too much personally about that really January can be an interesting time in in Japan depends on what time what time in January but um January can be a quieter time and during New Years at the very beginning of January some things might be closed but I would say about around the the 4th of January onwards things sort of like go back to normal in Kyoto I would recommend kuruma da Temple o shimoo Shrine and iwashi Mizu Haim mangu Shrine there’s so many shrines so many temples um guys it’s really nearly impossible for me to to to name them all you forgot to take it to Japan dude hey you’re going to a wedding in Europe nice it’s going to be warm in Europe it’s going to be as hot as in Japan actually I would say probably Jim so if you can survive your the heat of Europe you probably could survive the heat of um of Japan so take that as a test question catching the shinkansen but aren’t on a strict schedule is it easier just buying a ticket at the kiosk at the station since the trains are so frequent we don’t mind waiting we have luggage um two things I would say there purple goldfish purple goldfish okay sorry I just like the name um number one absolutely if you’re not on a tight schedule and you don’t mind waiting then there’s absolutely no problem getting uh a ticket at the kios at the station on the day um absolutely no issues there however just bear in mind that if it is in the morning you might find it hard to get some seats um on on certain certain um train lines very early in the morning however you could always go to the non-reserved and the non reserved means that it’s just a first come first served um sort of um situation where you just make sure that there early enough to be at the front of the line and hopefully get a seat when it comes to luggage I highly suggest if you don’t want to worry about luggage that you forward your luggage to your next destination this requires a little bit of planning because it means that you need to potentially and probably leave your luggage at the hotel um counter the day before or the evening evening before for example and live off a day bag for a little bit of time but I highly recommend that that’s one way of doing it so yeah if you have the freedom and the flexibility then don’t worry about about it you can you can get the the um shinkansen the the day before um sorry on the day from the kiosk I also I personally am the kind of person that I do usually get my tickets the night before from the from the station you’ll be good unless you have oversized bags in which case you don’t need to reserve the back seat um it depends it depends on indeed it depends on whether if you can put the the um the bag overhead then you’ll be fine absolutely of course of course mile highest city is Denver oo I didn’t know that I’ve learned something new hey Jesse thanks for BEC place are you most excited about visiting on your trip things first of all to Jim and to Jesse for becoming a member awesome I also have this awesome confetti to show appreciation because this is YouTube and you know people’s attention goes if I don’t do this kind of thing right um so I appreciate that and also I need to remember that I need to add JY to the list and I also need to add Jesse who hasn’t become a member but he’s written a special thing what’s he’s been 19 months of member that’s even more epic what place are you most excited about visiting on your trip this summer that’s a good question I’ve got various um places that I’m excited about I’m excited about going to Okinawa personally um and but I’m also very excited going to beu which is a hot spring town that that I haven’t visited kushu um it’s it’s one of Japan’s Premier like most famous hot spring like areas and for those of you who know me who’ve been following me you know how much I have a good hotring um so I’m looking forward to that now there’s a few things I’m not looking forward to in a way and that is I’ll be traveling um in kushu because I’m trying to do all of kushu and all the prefixes it means that there’s two legs of my trip where my when my um my train rides are 4 hours long so that’s definitely more than what I’m what I usually um travel you know like get your guy tours I have no idea about get your guy tours but um sorry I can’t help you there northern Europe is pretty cold hopefully common commenter hopefully the K the ticket counters have very helpful stuff if you don’t want to buy at the kiosk that is very true um DC Cohen I have to say that I agree with you because in the I have used the kiosk before in the past but I’ve also managed to um go to one of these ticket counters speak to to um staff there and they’ve actually recommended some alternative routes that I had even thought of or they’ve recommended um different times that um basically arrive at the same time as other previous trains because they’re faster or they have less transfers or whatever so it can be a great asset to do it that way same Shrine in Kyoto let it’s interesting and not too well known nice cool very very nice to know am I visiting dogen I reached out to dogen he doesn’t want to meet me I’m not uh um I’m not important enough but um I did reach out to him he’s a very busy guy obviously um and his assistant um is willing to meet me so and and I’m looking forward to meeting somebody in in in beu obviously so hopefully hopefully it will all come together and I’ll be able to meet up with um with this awesome um assistant of dogen I don’t know who he is but or if it’s a obviously I don’t even know but um they replied to my email on behalf of dogen which was interesting and um and they were like yeah sorry like dogen is very busy withot of commitments at the moment but I am happy to meet you so bonus for me it’s not about meeting a specific YouTuber or content creator for me it’s about having a contact with with somebody and doesn’t matter who it is I think it’s great that I can do that hey thank you so much for becoming a member awesome let me just add you to the list there I have to save this save it okay thank you much appreciate your support um you didn’t show off those emojis now that you’re a remember question if I Bas a reserve seat on the shanson can I just take the next train on the non-reserved car INF fuy yes infu you could just take the next train on the um Reserve seat on the res on the non-reserved car as long as you don’t exit the station and try to return was l in Europe in 97 in Spring Never Been In Summer I would have i j to damn it but I’m not here but but the only person I know there is banned in the summer yeah they throw me out every summer between the 9th of July and the 22nd of August in fact every summer must be a story provinces are more important than prefectures maybe that could be my next thing I was fing on the counter rather than the kiosk I use the wrong term I’d rather have a recommendation for the best route I mean if you already know your root then no problem you know easy easy peasy um really but it’s sometimes good to talk to someone indeed a shin Canen from Kyoto to Tokyo the person at the counter gave us the choice of the Mount Fuji side window seat or the Seaside something I may not have known if at the Kos yeah on that note and I’m is going to be doing a little bit of a of a sneaky plug here but you can also book um some tickets using clook and they finally added the the the option where you can choose your seats which is one of the reasons why even myself I was a little bit reluctant to to use clook for for trains although I was going to on this on this um Journey on this um trip but um but now you can actually choose your seat and they have a really good guide where they actually tell you what seats are the best for for um for the Mount Fuji view so just be be aware that’s an option um I always say this this in every single stream and every single video guys you do what you need to do for you what’s easiest for you and I don’t expect anything anybody to use any of my affiliate links if they find something that works for them that’s better for them all right but if you have absolutely nothing and you have nothing no no um preference then you can actually support me by using the affiliate links that’s basically it good to see you keeping up the stuff as always thank you I enjoy doing these live streams um it’s great to to slow down a little bit um editing videos is fun and I love putting out like main content um sort of stuff but uh this is a really good way to to interact with with people and try to help people out in a different way yay awesome nice look what I have by the way I and for for those of you who who thought that I was going to be un unable to find the missing pieces I found them they’re all there by by the way they’re all there I’m just never again going to close this cuz I’m scared question if you see some cute aunties on this trip can you let them know I’m single okay I will see Rose I will I will definitely tell him that that you’re single howy blind man travels how are you doing thanks for joining the stream and um just out of curiosity is there a reason why you’re you’re you’re called Blind Man travels I I don’t want to assume anything but um but I am interested with a name like that we’re getting the shansen from Nagoya to Tokyo so fingers crossed we can see Fuji on our way there yeah I mean last case scenario even if you don’t get the seat you can actually stand up and go to the door and and get the Mount Fuji view from there so that’s uh something that you can most definitely do so don’t worry too much about that okay time for a Tokyo banana every one too banana time it’s been in the freezer since my last trip what two months ago a month and a half ago can’t remember my last trip was in April so it’s a little bit Frozen for those of you who don’t know this has become a little bit of a ninja monkey thing I guess it’s because it’s the monkey side and it’s a banana but this is a a omag it’s a um souvenir that you can get in Tokyo and it’s basically a sponge cake shaped like a banana inside you will find some banana custard and I kind of like it some people don’t some people don’t see the fuss but I guess it’s just become one of those things in this channel you know like too banana for Ninja monkey and um I recommend that you do try it though just to try it you don’t have to like it and if you do I would love it if you send me a video and your thoughts on the Tokyo Banana by the way um yeah a great little tip is that these have a very short shelf life they like last like a week or something but if you put them in your freezer I mean you can do it at your own risk I’m not a food expert or or anything but if you put it in the freezer and they defrost pretty well is what I’m going to say okay so blind man travels I’d love to know more about your adventures as a legally blind person have you been to Japan um are you planning on going to Japan what’s your what’s your experience hello Nathan can I call my family from Japan to Europe um yes I guess you can the only thing is that you need to be aware that if you’re going to use your cell phone there might be some very Hefty finds my recommendation is that you use um you know things like um messaging apps with an internet connection um which leads me to my next affiliate link if you do need an internet connection a Wi-Fi or or a data Sim or an eim or something like that pocket Wi-Fi then you you you can use that and you can then use a messaging app or even Skype to call so that you don’t get any of those um crazy um light Chargers banana [Music] banana took a banana for the win actually this one’s really nice I mean they’re always nice but this one is like for some reason this one is extra nice it’s nice and cold yeah for those of you who are interested in um pocket Wi-Fi by the way there’s they have um Sakura mobile actually have new products which is pretty cool in the past you have to use you you had to get a pocket Wi-Fi or a SIM for unlimited data data but now you can get an eim for unlimited data with a throttle of three gigabytes a day I I I believe is a limit and then they’ll throttle you or um you can get a eim which has a um like a limited amount of data so maybe 5 G 50 GB and once that runs out that runs out and then you have to re renew it if that makes any sense how much would I budget let me let me see if I can pull out my um if I pull out my in fact I wanted to show you something hold on a second where is it so over here I have a range of different um cards all right and and I know that um you Android users cannot get a digital speaker so I’ve been exploring things for you know I even though I’m an iPhone user I do want to help people out regardless of what they use even if they’re in the dark side I don’t mind joking so I found an app called um what is it called I don’t know what it’s called but it’s it’s I’ll share it with you soon basically it allows me to scan my my card and it will give me the the credit that I have so how much credit this card has and it will also give me a range of all the transits how much the history of the card so you know how many book offs I’ve been to how many um so plans I mean how many um train stations I’ve been to so and you can have multiple cards so for example this one this C by the way why do I have so many because I collect them and then I give them out to friends who travel to Japan and then they give them back to me um and so so let’s see this one so scan read it says read you can see and I just put this here like that and it’s Reddit and this one has 507 Yen and it says I have a purchase 2017 this the last time I used this one was 2017 Transit 133 Yen 550 um so yeah I would say about 8 900 Yen per day it seems to be my my average so that about a thousand yen a day seems to be my average if that um that helps you out a little bit now I’m curious I have a Saker here I want to know now now I’m really curious guys has anybody used this sort of thing before it’s quite useful to have I think let’s try this one let’s see scan it sua nope didn’t scan it let’s try it again yes and this one is from January so this one I bought this year and it has I’ve only used it once okay let’s try this pmo sorry guys this is this is boring for you but I’m now curious pasmo okay the Paso this what 2017 and you can see everything here you can see let me show you you can see purchase the transit how where it’s got all the history when I added credit to it um what I basically yeah so this is very useful for those of you who don’t have a digital weer like an iPhone I think that an app like this would actually potentially be quite a good way of keeping tabs on how much you have on the card and and a record of um of what you’ve used I want to talk your banana so bad yes I did my own vlogging on my channel nice um um blind man travels I’m going to check it out I’m very interested and actually there was somebody that emailed me and I haven’t I just haven’t had the chance to get in contact with them properly but I wanted to um to interview them um but I’m very interested in making a channel that’s accessible and friendly to everyone regardless of their needs and um and I’m definitely very interested in in in um disabilities and helping people with disabilities travel travel Japan um I just need to figure out the best way to do to do it you know they finally pushed the buttons on eims yes I’m so excited about that to be honest hey Tommy TR how you doing Anthony Moreno sorry I need to do a a um a big where are you confetti yay Anthony Moreno how you doing ball of Berlin is quiet everybody’s watching the football game right now yes yes I should be watching the football game but I’m not I’m here suur 10 14 days it was more than enough thanks for the hard work looking for solutions for stuff you don’t use yeah of course guys I mean it sucks it really does suck and it actually makes me really mad that um that um that you cannot use digital WEA because it is really I think one of the most Revolution re re revolutionary things that you can have in your Travelers Arsenal if you have access to the to the um to the digital weer um and it really sucks really that um that Android doesn’t have that so I’m trying to find different ways of sort of like helping you guys out I would think Wi-Fi calling using pocket Wi-Fi would reduce risk of extra charges maybe I use e for 10 days and it was just fine I think I’ll go with pocket Wi-Fi route next time so I can use my own phone number all right we’ll get a Manaka card I think since we’re Landing in aoya first yeah and as I’ve mentioned many times the cards are all interchangeable really apart from one I’ve got one very interesting card here where is it this card is super interesting actually I couldn’t even figure out what it was so this card here I’m going to hide my information cuz it’s a registered one it’s a sappy card does anybody know where this is from I know now I now know where it is from but it’s not interchangeable with sua Paso Etc so this this IC card has actually has some credit on it because I can check it with the with the app but it has no but I cannot use it in Tokyo so I have to return to where I can use it it’s a it’s are calling me the app is so helpful I will definitely get it Nathan is the iy fair kind of okay Carlos hey how you doing question with new Jr pass prices it is not worth for me to buy neither the whole one or the regional ones Hokkaido and tohoku is it easy to buy the tickets on the spot or should I do it in advance and are you sure the tohoku because the tohoku one had there’s various different Regional tohoku um tickets um Regional Regional passes so you might have there’s I think three different ones with different price points and three different sort of areas that you can do so um and there’s even a a Hokkaido tohoku pass a pass that includes hokido and tohoku um all the way up to sapora I believe and just this isn’t really plugging it but I do want to highlight that if you do use the the CL link that’s there or go into my website www. ninjas sad.com there’s a link to the CL and if you search for um rail passes Japan Rail passes you can actually see a breakdown of every single pass per region it’s it’s it’s actually a really good resource um and it’s not it’s not difficult to to purchase things on the spot so don’t worry about it pocket Wi-Fi works very well also blind man travels nice to know other Travelers with visual impairments I’m legally blind as well I have been to Amsterdam many times as well as Mexico and the USA cool um it counts every time you tap in and out of the transit system right yes basically yes I’ve used the Android version of those apps for years the one I use is called twka and I card reader nice thanks Japan Japan Japan um it’s obviously because I’m not an Android User I really appreciate um any Android users who can give some additional you know tips and advice for for for Android users um like I said this channel is an inclusive channel it’s it’s a channel to help you plan your trip to Japan regardless of whether you decide to go down the dark side Tony G I will be travel for the first time in Japan in October cool been to Japan twice both times I use my credit card instead of s Chase credit card and it works just fine um anony Moreno but you wouldn’t be able to use your credit card to use it through Transit though was awesome on our trip it can be very cool I want to be more cycling focused because I heard that Tokyo Metro area is easily traversable using a bicycle anything you happen to know regarding that unfortunately I don’t usually use Psy um Cycles Cycles bicycles in Tokyo um because I just find that the city is so so easy to navigate via public transport that there’s no need for for bicycles personally um I know that a lot of people they leave their bicycles in in um in bike parks bicycle parks at the entrance of stations I haven’t really seen anybody with a bicycle in in a train from my experience it’s annoying not to have digital I cards for Android but I like the idea of having a card for a souvenir that’s just an excuse that all Android people say want to use the digital Saker digital card that it doesn’t matter anymore Sapa is it is sapoto indeed well done well done so this is a saporo icy card and this saporo icy card can only be used in saporo only so that kind of sucks but I guess it I it will won’t it won’t expire for 10 years so I still have plenty of time to get back to saporo it only has 500 or something I should be there for Halloween no I should no I will be there for Halloween because I have flights so I will be there for Halloween cycling in Sheba is fun I would never cycle in Tokyo that’s the thing I think that that I mean I wouldn’t say would never travel cycle in Tokyo Tokyo is such a big city that there will definitely be places that um that are worth cycling in Tokyo I just haven’t had to yet yeah eim works pretty well for me I have my sweat in my real wallet and it has been to Japan without me for one time now I will give it to a friend again so it stays active yeah that’s a the the um trick to sua and to IC cards is that as long as you use it once it doesn’t expire for 10 years until last use hey back in the clay how you doing just want to do one quick other shout out and that is for my second Channel happy gin I’m very very close to 1,000 subscribers on that channel and actually let me check what the um subscriber count on that channel is now I am on 989 subscribers on that channel so please help out that channel out by subscribing if you haven’t already it’ll be pretty cool if I can reach a thousand planning to cycle in Shiva but thanks for the Insurance cool cool cool let’s see um go taxi app and go pay for other taxis that works very well nice um I know that Uber basically Works in Japan in a in in a way that it calls a taxi for you but then you have to pay for the taxi the dark side is the other side wor living come on over to the Android life Nathan yeah the reason you can’t see bikes on a train is because they are all in special bags for them or not at all ah okay that’s why I’ve never seen one then ooh back in the clay will also be there I’ve got I’ve actually got flights now for New Year’s and for Halloween so sapot is pretty cool I really do want to return there and I’d like to return back in the summer CU it’s a really great destination to go during the summer um hello okay I read on the website the passal passport will be discontinued in August what is an alternative for visitors okay two things there I’m not very sure but it says that the San Rio version of the passo passport will discontinue in August which leads me to believe that maybe we’ll be replaced by another version the sun one without the characters the sunreal characters um so I’m not very sure the Hello Kitty characters whether or not it will just be replaced by another version but there two things that you can do you can get a a welcome sare which works exactly the same as a pass passport 28 days but you just can’t take the money out at the end so you got to spend all of it or you can actually get one of these like a normal weer um and these are still available you need to present a passport and you can do these from most major Tokyo stations um but it’s important to know that you do not go to the ticket counter if you go to ticket counter like many people do make the mistake they go to the normal ticket counter they’re like no they don’t even know what’s going on but if you go to the Jr East Travel Center um with your passport because only available for for foreigners um the same area where the ji pass is available you can actually get a suer card from there but also be aware that these are limited in number every day so there are times when people have been to a station they run out and they’ve had to literally go to the next station and they’ve been able to get one so hopefully that will will be able to to help you hopefully this um chip shortage um changes and I also know that um that Jr is working on a welcome sua um app which will be introduced spring next year and I’m not very sure how that’s going to work but yeah ha do I have any plans to try an onen Cafe um I have been to an onen Cafe before um I went to an onen Cafe in UDA onen I I Tred to remember all these places that I’ve been to UDA onen and I actually made it was a foot on S Cafe actually and um I made a video about it so if you go back in in my backlog of of videos you’ll find it Uber Works in an interesting way in not the same way basically you can hail a a cab you and Michaela might no no no you need to change it to you and Michaela will be coming to Japan at the same time as me in October for goodness sake flipping heck I think there’s going to be loads of people here for Halloween that might have to do a ninja monkey Meetup at this rate Halloween ninja monkey Meetup around that time I reminded my sister last week to pick up a sua at Narita Airport the welcome sua yeah you got are us the Metro lines as it was great to have the experience being in the middle of the normal people in Tokyo always good hey Twitter Cliff dog have you used any of the bike rentals do you roughly know how much it is I use bike rentals on a need two sort of like basis usually when I am in smaller areas outside of the big cities for example I’ve used bike rentals in um in amanohashidate um kyot well in Kyoto of the north I’ve used a bike rental there I’ve also used a bike rental um in hakone I’ve used bike B bike rentals in Lake toy toasu I think it was um anyway in various lakes around where you know where I’ve been able to cycle around around a lake um and they do range from anything between I would say I’m just guessing here between 800 Yen and 1,500 Yen I’ve also used um bike rental in um Fuji kawaguchi also and it also depends on whether you decide to have a rental for uh a pedal assist rental where it’s like sort of electric bike or whether you want to normal bike yeah the lockers can can mostly work for I cards but sometimes they don’t they they use coins which is really annoying October Steven nice cafe on onen Cafe seems too strange to me I can only do one at a time Halloween I’m going dress as ninja monkey awesome I’m going to go with a giant beard question what’s the shortest day in Japan and was it worth it my shortest day has always been no more than six days and absolutely was it worth it 100% I try to find buying tickets from the machines fun let’s see question is it hard to find the larger station lockers close together we will need to use two or three while waiting for checkin to an Airbnb oh I because you’re airbnbing um yeah I think that you will likely be able to find multiple lockers um close together I mean some of these stations especially in larger stations have wall like walls and walls and walls of of lockers some of these stations have various different areas of lockers and you should you should be fine alternatively you can always drop off your luggage at Yamato counter where they will hold it for you for a fee so and there are even some stations for example Kyoto station I know now has a service where they will hold your luggage for you at the station um whilst you do sightseing because they’re trying to stop people from carrying the luggage whilst they sight see which is a crazy thought but people do it okay there used to be a reasonable bike rental in Tokyo but they only do TS now okay I do like um toada I actually really like cycling around Lakes I don’t know what it is about it but I like cycling around [Music] Lakes yeah well Cafe on in like I said I went to a foot Cafe onen check out my video it’s kind of fun um I’ve seen I’ve seen um plenty of like rental scooter style things in Tokyo but I haven’t explored those and I know that um you can use those you can also use um bike rental similar I have just never explored those myself onen Cafe serve drinks and snacks as you use a fo Onsen the one in in UDA Onsen was pretty cool um UDA onon was an interesting place kind of wasn’t what I was expecting I thought it was going to be more like a more traditional onon Town it was kind of um quite Urban but there were loads of footbaths loads of them is it hard to get to Asa from Hana airport nope it’s not hard I can’t remember now this um Google Translate Google Maps from from haneda I mean you could always go to to um you could always get the the the you’d have to change I don’t think this a direct train but I don’t think it’s hard to get around Tokyo full stop check out my navigating Tokyo train and train video please please please you can use a KQ airport line there you go direct to asakusa perfect I don’t stay in asakusa anymore before the days of Skype I used to know a guy who had to travel to Japan for business every month 3 days each week that sounded exhausting sounds like um dying G he’s always traveling everywhere question where can I buy a Citizen watch that’s only available in Japan for a good price that’s a very very specific question that I might not be able to answer but I would probably tell tell you to go to Aki for some reason um even some of these big department stores or big um yabashi big cameras they even even donkey hot um have watch sections maybe somebody else will be able to help you meline will be in Japan in October is it worth going to a baseball game I hear they are totally different to DS what do you think what do you think my answer is going to be yeah meline go Tigers go Tigers I mean I’m going to save you going to go to Japan please become a tigers’s fan hello how far in advance should I start planning my second trip to Japan now stop planning it now oh they’re called Loop in Japan they’re all over there you go also okay time for a little bit of a drink I’ve been going through a tooth teeth whitening um like thingy and I’m trying not to drink a lot of Coke but I need to I’m drinking it with a straw this is a reusable silicone St straw by the way before anybody judges me I’ve used this site 20 times already obviously I was it in between time in between okay no mic rents the e bikes all the time oh yeah it’s true he does very true nomatic aging direct train indeed if you land in Narita you can hop on the n express straight to Tokyo station there you go there you go for any watches I buy from mitsukoshi you don’t like cheap stuff so why are you watching me dude I can’t root for the Tigers cuz I’m too busy watching The Golden Eagles lose no Tigers all the way guys oh boy oh boy question I will be in saporo during the national holidays in October day of sport I believe it is called any special thing to be done onday also I will be in Tok for Halloween just saying yay awesome it seems like loads of people going to be there I’m definitely going to have to hopefully set something up maybe we can coincide we could do a Japan Japan is Ban stroke um ninja monkey Meetup or something in Tokyo um usually these smaller days like day of sport or whatever usually they they don’t nothing really changes um so I wouldn’t say there’s anything for you to worry about I wouldn’t know off the top of my head to be honest I see Jesse I forgive you is at 7: a.m. how long do you think it will take me to go go through customs by passo Etc um Jacqueline it really depends on how many flights are landing at the same time basically really that’s what it comes down to I’ve been in that very same situation where I’ve landed at 700 in the morning around 700 in the morning and it’s taken me 35 minutes or I’ve been in exactly the same situation where I’ve landed at 7:15 or whatever and it’s taken me an hour um just depends on the volume of people lucky for you I am working on a on a um guide of what to do before going to Japan so I’ll explain some things about that soon hopefully Japan seems to like high school baseball the way that Texans like high school football oo anyone seen the Tokyo cholos the one who dressed like Mexicans I would love to see them but I can’t find anything online I I don’t know never heard of I’ve never heard of that but that sounds very intriguing now maybe we should hunt them down down together hunt them not handun them down where to go into during Halloween now Shibuya seems anti- party goer oh still go to Shibuya because um it was always like that as in Shibuya banned drinking last year um in the streets for Halloween and she Boya seems to be just be banning drinking in the streets at night so I don’t think anything will change you can still go into bars and you can still drink in bars you just can’t drink outside but we’ll see closer to the dates what happens where might it move to I have no idea I mean some people were saying that that um Osaka is a new like the new shya to BU is the shya I don’t know setting up your sim card really oh you could dress up I was there you could watch my video I did like a video report on this last year when I was actually there dressed like Piccolo by the way if you want to see a green ninja monkey then check out that video I wish there were more walking maps for airports and large stations that would be pretty cool and I’m sure they’ll be coming sooner than than we than then we can you know imagine I’m sure fan police cracking down shuya big time I heard you can’t even drink outside of comini I thought it was this was Japan hey this during during um Halloween but I don’t think any other re any other restrictions are in force yet it’s something they were talking about maybe you can correct me if I’m wrong are they is it already in force hey perhaps a City question is it polite to ask for caty instead of Chopsticks or use your own cat instead of Chopsticks also going at the end of October um to be hon honest I think this is going to sound like I I don’t this going to sound like the most logical thing but if you have from now to October to practice with chopsticks it’s really going to help a hell of a lot if you can actually learn to use chopsticks unless there a specific um reason why you can’t um but you could always ask for catery of course you can um there’s no problem however you will find that many many restaurants don’t have catery for you um so don’t be surprised if that’s the case which is why I highly recommend that you learn how to use chopsticks and as in using your own catery I’ve never ever ever heard of of that I mean I don’t think it’s the end of the world if you use your own caly personally rongi indeed will never be here just can’t get with rongi don’t know why but I don’t feel as welcome there as I go yeah I sort of get you with that although I am staying rongi for part of my trip this year just because I found a good hotel there you can get some walking Maps really oo yeah if you’re interested in Sakura here is the link by the way I’ll leave it up there yeah Lanny I highly recommend that you check out my um traveling around Japan guide you know using the train Network in Japan I think I do a good job of explaining how to find exits and how to get to your destination from stations there’s no penalties for the ban it was an it was an interesting experience this year I must say when I was in um in Shibuya this year during Halloween they just kept you going they kept you there were loads of police people and I felt that it was yeah it worked pretty well if I was going to Japan on Halloween I’d go to nagoro scarecrow Village that would be scary for anyone going to for Halloween I’ll be there we definitely need to set up a fan Meetup yeah let me get through through this um trip in three weeks time in the summer it’s a 6 week trip um when we when I get back from that I’ll start looking at the Halloween trip but I will be there from during the Halloween period um I’m not very sure if IID specifically meet meet people for Halloween because I’m I’m guessing that I’ll I’ll be meeting some of my friends um for the Halloween period the Halloween day but that’s not to say that I we cannot do something around that time but we’ll see depends on how many people because I try not to do meetups on my short trips I’ve said this before um akasaka is a great place I agree yeah I always like Osaka it’s a little more relaxed in Tokyo but it’s personal choice I’m not the biggest fan of of Osaka even though I’m also spending some time I always say this I always say I’m not the biggest fan of Osaka and then I end up staying in Osaka it’s just the way it is Nathan a good video I’d like to watch would be Tokyo alternatives to help you escape the crowds don’t go to Golden guy go to um okazu yokoo Etc yeah I actually am three quarters of the way through that video that I’ve been filming um throughout the last year it’s a kind of um the kind of video that you cannot really film in one trip although I could probably film it in another trip like this um it’s not the kind of video that you can film in one day is what I’m saying um I do have the alternative Tokyo alternatives to escape the crowds video already but not necessarily for drinking if that makes any sense golden guy is great I do like golden guy I think there’s a there’s a a time and a place for it um I have fun in Golden guy question is there a m sumoto Koshi at Naro International Terminal I would like to buy skin care products before boarding my flight I I’m sorry but I wouldn’t be able to to know exactly what stores there are U I do apologize there’s things are always changing and it’s hard enough for me to remember every single um train station that alone what stores are in the in the airport I apologize the police and security keep you going in Shibuya that’s important cuz like it happened when I was in Shibuya Halloween and once we stopped and I felt the crowd pressure and not good I can imagine Jay um have you ever been to the J Matsuri in Kyoto if so what did you think of it no I’ve only been to the guon Matsuri in Kyoto so that’s my [Music] answer um yeah you do Italia guy you mentioned this quite quite a lot in um in many of the the the um live streams aaban is interesting yeah aaban is a great place and um I’ve had loads of fun there some of the questions be like is every 11 in ternal seat of no it’s okay I I welcome all questions guys you know I’m just very honest when it comes to answering questions and I’m not afraid of saying if I don’t know the answer to something um I’m that kind of person I don’t want people to to to you know like to think that I know it all because ultimately I can point you in the right direction I can help you out as much as I can but if I don’t know the answer to something then I just don’t know the answer to something um maybe you should do another collab of dangle definitely I mean that is always on the cards when it comes to dangle um I don’t have much of a choice when it comes to dangle but um to drinking with dangle I would love to do another collab with him um I do have something in the cards potentially somebody asked me would I be doing any more collaborations um while I’m in Japan and the answer is if it happens I would like to do a a golden guy um a golden guy guide oruk guide with um with TQ Sam that would be very interesting if you don’t know who he is hey thanks for pointing that out to Holly I appreciate that I suppose this is a question why exactly do you like Japan I like Japan cuz Japan is different to anything any other country I’ve been to it’s orderly it’s clean and the people um receive me and always welcome me so that is one of the main reasons why I like Japan yes we’re here to learn from one another indeed why I’m going to send everyone to your favorite bar and golden guy hey Lanny don’t worry I was late I need to go to bed now worked today and will work tomorrow I need to get up at 7 in 8 hours good night stay positive indeed stay positive Lenny thanks for being here um much appreciate it depends which TQ Sam shows up it’s going to be good it’s going to be good I’m sure have you met Jim have you met Tiko Sam by the way yeah I think it would be fun to to do something with him in fact I would actually really really like to introduce TI Sam to ding go because I think they will get along so well it would be so funny to have them both together obviously I’m looking forward toing out with with nadic with Luke and um and all that yes you can buy to I can answer that question Holly I can answer that question you can buy too bananas at the airport indeed not in person okay okay you have to go out the office what no more working in your pajamas first of Trav to Japan in August how busy should we expect it to be in August from my experience um it will depends where you’re traveling to in Japan it will be busy um especially in the main areas the big shrines big temples and the tourist sites um I think this two factors that could potentially make it busy one of them is the fact that it’s um school holidays in Japan it’s summer vacation and um therefore there is a little bit of domestic tourism not not as much as as um some of the um bigger holidays like New Year’s um but also it’s also peak season in terms of like summer vacation for European schools and American schools so people do travel around that time um so yeah you set your expectations to expect crowds is what I would say and if you want to avoid crowds then you know head head to some different locations I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit now um B Richard I think in the past and I mentioned this in the last video in the past you could pretty much do 100% of your of your trip doing Tokyo Kyoto Osaka you know the Golden Triangle 100% your trip and it would be fantastic but now due to the amount of TRS that are going in I would say try to if you’re plan a trip to pan I would say try to do like 50% of your trip Golden Triangle and the other 50% of your trip um elsewhere away from the Golden Triangle to to get a good balance of things I don’t support a football team unfortunately good night I will go to bed now I think I’m going to go to bed too very very soon I’m going to just start closing things um hey Jeff how you doing if you have a choice would you arrive in haneda or Narita my price is basically the same um I think this depends on where you’re staying if the price is a exactly the same then check the distance and how long it’s going to take from haneda or Narita to your hotel and um base it around that I know that some people like Narita Narita can be great for certain areas I find Han haneda works the best for me for the sort of areas that I stay in most of the time um although Narita when I staying in in weno the Narita Narita train to weno is so convenient so convenient when am I planning to go to Mia I stay expor Isa sh Shima on trip number 10 last month and for me it was the best destination in Japan really awesome I will be in M I will be in fact I think I I want to share my itinerary soon short maybe next week and um some infographic or maybe update my website or something with my itinerary of roughly where I’m going to be um but I believe that I’m going to be in me on the 20 20th of July something like that around the 20th of July yeah around the 20th of July mossberger try it once see what you think um I don’t think it’s a big deal but it’s one of those things that it’s worth trying kazawa agree check out my um kazawa um guide I have two one less travel kazawa and one main kazawa so even the Golden Triangle with kazawa is getting busy yeah this is why I honestly think that you’re staying um you know whatever amount of time you’re staying in in Japan use 50% of your time to do the Golden Triangle and kazawa if you want to add it to the triangle um and use the other 50% to head to other places that are not in the Golden Triangle and you will have a pretty good trip it means that you will have crowds obviously in certain areas but it will also mean that you’ll have those that breathing space and you’ll be able to explore the Japan the I love the Teryaki Burger is very good actually I have to say yes ja man yes I agree the Teryaki Burger is pretty good would you guys suggest staying in Shinjuku in a hotel or Airbnb um I think that me and Japan Japan ban will have different um opinions on this I’ve never stayed in a BMB in Japan so I can’t really testify as to to that I like staying in a hotel just because I know that my sheets will be changed that I have the convenience of cleaning and and that kind of thing perhaps I could dress up like a too banana for Halloween that would be kind of funny um but I already have uh something that I’ve been told I have to dress dress that as as a group so yeah it depends on the type of um travel agle Bay was the standout yeah that’s one of my plans my plan is to go to agle Bay so maybe I might Rent A Car whilst I am in m to get to ago Bay and TR travel a little bit around that area you can dress the back black screen that they put to block the view just need someone to dress up as a Lon hi takayama gfu awesome um hi takayama gfu I have to say the tech gefu beef is some of my favorite in in Japan it’s so delicious is it expensive to eat in Japan now no I would say it’s probably cheaper than ever to eat in Japan thanks to the Yen um yeah prices of things have gone up slightly but while as you travel around Japan you’ll find that um especially when you leave touristy areas you’ll find that things are very very affordable I like hotels if you do the Airbnb just pick one where the host is there so you don’t get stuck yes I’m still a bit relaxant to do Airbnb there’s this place called the live Le in minat city it’s a fancy hotel they have a rooftop bar and they give out free beer at 5 awesome that sounds pretty cool actually Isa shim you rented a car cool Shima I probably spend less when eating Japan than at home yeah yeah Japan Japan is you should start a series of Airbnb rental like reviews I swear that would be so useful anyway guys I am going to start ending things um we have three more live streams or maybe two more live streams um next Sunday as normal I will be in the UK I will be in London for the weekend I I’m flying out on Friday Friday afternoon and on Saturday I’m watching Spirited Away in um in the West End I’m so excited to watch Spirited Away in London and then I fly back on T basically I’m going to London to watch spirits of the way I’m that kind of guy and then I I wonder whether or not I’m an notu or not but yeah I’m flying to London Friday afternoon I’ll be there late afternoon um hopefully meeting people Friday evening Saturday meeting friends for the show on Sunday morning flying back yay VJ about to end nine people in advantes of Tokyo guide specific suggestions and live music I think that if you do have a big group of people getting a food tour is going to be uh my recommendation so that you can at least get an idea of how to navigate eating with such a big group of people solo traveling I love solo traveling Stacy I’m very sorry but I haven’t actually camped in Japan there should be more thumbs up yes please thumbs up Thumb Thumbs Up the thumbs up the video and um just a quick reminder to subscribe to my second Channel which is called the happy gin it’s um happy gin maybe some maybe one of you guys can put the link for me subscribe I am 11 short of hitting 1,000 hope everyone’s doing well what would be the best way to get 20 the airport for a 9:00 a.m. flight and a void rash hour um I don’t think you have any problem really because you’d have to be at the airport 2 hours earlier and that’s way before you any worries of rash hour to be honest so you probably need to leave like at 6:00 in the morning right to get to to Hana so thanks guys please support me by um subscribing to the channel That Japan Japan it Jaan has just linked which is my second Channel I will hopefully be hitting n a th oh 993 subscribers
