Hello everyone, this is Hide from Your Kansai Buddy! I’m here in Himeji City today! I’ll show you a model plan to see around this area with Himeji Castle in the center, I hope you’ll take a look today! There’s also a little gift at the end, so please watch until the end! So let’s go! If you haven’t had breakfast yet, I would like you to try this Japanese confectionery called Gozasourou! This Gozasourou is very popular in Kansai. Its main store is located here in Himeji city! Cheap and tasty is the vision of this store, 110 yen per piece. I ordered both red bean paste and white bean paste! I found a bench in the shade of a tree, I would like to have Gozasourou here! I would like to try the red bean paste first! Itadakimasu! Yummmm I love red bean paste, yummy! Next, I’ll have white bean paste Itadakimasu! Both were insanely delicious! I personally liked the red bean paste one better, but I liked them both, I hope you all try them! There are three ways to get to Himeji Castle First, Miyuki Street and Omizo-suji Shopping Street These two shopping streets are lined with many local stores. There was a lot of art on the ground This is Miyuki street There was art here, too. This is Otemae Street The weather was beautiful and very pleasant Himeji Castle is getting closer. I’m going to keep walking Himeji Castle. World Heritage Site When you buy a ticket, buy this one called “Kyoutsu ken". We’ll go to Kokoen later, so let’s buy a common ticket. It’s a little cheaper. I’ll take one common ticket please Because it resembles a pure white, beautiful egret with its wings spread It is also called Shirasagi-jo (White Egret Castle) It’s so scary to see guns and bows and arrows flying from there lol I’d die in an instant I’m getting closer! This castle is so huge! Download this app to see various explanations in English! You can find the link in the description! The stairs are very steep! Be careful not to fall! There are five castles in Japan that are national treasures Himeji Castle is one of them and is very historic Also, Himeji Castle was the first castle in Japan to be registered as a World Heritage Site! It was a very nice castle, you should visit it too! Yes, next I would like to visit a Japanese garden called "Koukoen". It’s a 5 minute walk from Himeji Castle, so I’m going there now! I’m going to go on a speed walk because I’m a little running late. I show the ticket I just bought at Himeji Castle and they let me in. Let’s go! Here you go! Kokoen is a very spacious garden with a restaurant and a tea house where you can enjoy green tea. The restaurant "Kassuiken" offers a view of "Koukoen", You can enjoy many dishes of conger eel, one of the gourmet foods of Himeji. One set of anago-don (conger eel bowl). This is Michael! Michael-san and I happened to meet and eat together! He was very nice and made the meal even better. Itadakimasu The view was very beautiful and the food was very good! Conveniently located, you should all go there! After dinner, I went sightseeing in "Kokoen". This koi carp is so big, This may be the biggest koi I have ever seen! From the garden you can see a little bit of Himeji Castle Okay, next we are going to a temple called " Engyo-ji ". This is a bit far away, so I’m going to take a bus to get there. This temple is on top of a mountain, I would like to take the ropeway to the top of the mountain The view from the top of the mountain, the great nature of the mountain, I hear it’s very beautiful, so I’m really looking forward to it! I’m going to go now! Because Google Maps shows the wrong bus stop location, Let’s go for this community center. There is a bus stop right in front of it You can quickly discover the map location from the description! Take the bus from Okamachi I forgot to press the stop button on the bus and went one stop too far Please be careful not to forget to press the stop button on the bus! When you see this kanji character on the bus, make sure you press the button! Don’t forget! LOL! Once you get off the bus stop, there are two places I want to go before getting on the ropeway One is a Japanese sweets shop, and the other I’m thinking of going to an art museum, So I would like to go there now This Japanese sweets shop is located near the ropeway station It’s called "Kineya". Among many traditional Japanese wagashi This baumkuchen called "Sennensugi" is very famous! I heard that Hollywood star Tom Cruise liked it very much. Matcha "Sennensugi" and I bought a Japanese sweet called "Okuni Koban". I would like to eat the baumkuchen "Sennensugi" with my family at home! I would like to eat this "Okuni Koban" because I’m a little hungry now! Itadakimasu! It’s like a financier, so delicious! It has a little bit of sweet bean paste inside, the bean paste makes it more moist and tasty! The next place I want to go is It’s a museum called Shosha-no-sato. A place where traditional crafts and local toys of Himeji are exhibited. You can experience making these local toys and tops yourself, You should try it too! I made Mt. Fuji, "Red Fuji" and regular Mt. Fuji This is a Buddha statue made of clay It’s very rare. Well, now we’re going to take the ropeway to Enkyoji Temple. Hello! I will walk there. We don’t have much of a bell to ring ourself, but you can ring this bell by yourself! Amazing… If you walk there, it takes about 20 to 25 minutes. I think it’s a good idea to take the bus if you’re tired of walking. The hill is tough lol As I expected, the nature is amazingly beautiful and crazy quiet. It’s a place where you can enjoy a calm atmosphere, which I like very much! We continue walking to the main area! Mani Dian, one of the main tourist attractions We’ll go here first From Maniden, if you go further and further ahead, There is more to see, so let’s keep walking on This is the part where the movie "The Last Samurai" was filmed, This is a very popular spot, and I encourage everyone to visit! Hidari taku no nenmichi, maybe? Even I can’t read it. lol Let’s go. I didn’t find anything lol When you see the Okuno-in, you can go a little further There’s an observation deck, so I’m going to head towards the observation deck After a last beautiful view and relaxing, I would like to go back to Himeji station Today’s trip is finally coming to an end! This " Engyo-ji Temple" was a lot more hilly than I thought it would be, I’m tired, but I’ll enjoy it to the fullest, and I’m going to wrap up this trip. All you leave with are memories and footprints. Leave no trash here, take it home That’s a good word. I’m probably at the lookout, I can’t see anything! That’s a lot of grass, lol. Thanks for seeing me to the end! Did you enjoy the video? Did you learn any Japanese? I will continue to introduce various Kansai spots, If you have any requests or suggestions for places to visit, please let me know in the comments! and as promised at the beginning, it’s a gift! I’m giving away a travel guide from my official LINE account! I think it will be very useful, Please become my friend and get the travel guide! Alright, I’ll see you again in the next video! And because I was hungry, I had dinner at Himeji station too! Himeji Oden and Champon-yaki It was a very nice restaurant, check it out from the description!
