In this video, I went to Tokyo, Japan, to try two of their ramen restaurants; one that sells a $6 ramen, which is about average price for a bowl of ramen in Japan, and the other restaurant that sells the most expensive bowl of ramen in Tokyo that costs $100. he oh my God that looks so good this bowl of ramen is $6 and this other one cost $100 about 15 times more expensive Ramen in Japan is one of the most affordable meals that you can get for your money and it’s also one of the most popular dishes in Japan in this video I’ll be going to Japan to try two different ramen restaurants one that serves a humble $6 bowl and the other that serves a $100 Ramen with A5 wagu beef truffle oil and even gold in it how different are they really and what do you get for your money in Japan well keep watching the video cuz I’m about to show you guys it’s a little late at night about 1: p.m. here so happy to see a restaurant that’s still open and I’m extremely hungry so let me go inside wow their their Ramen looks legit and it seems that their most basic Ramen is $650 Y which is not even $5 so it was a typical small ramen restaurant but small doesn’t always mean bad a lot of ramen restaurants have these bar seats and it’s totally cool to see it by yourself here I guess I could just get the ramen and that’s going to be $5 but guys don’t you want your good Uncle Jimmy to be well fed I know you do which is why I’m going to get the thousand yen one with every topping inside wow this is going to be really good I wonder what these are it looks like some kind of a side dish and that’s the ginger oh look at this this is so cute Coca-Cola which means nostalgic cold Coca-Cola they only charge them $150 for bottle oh I just noticed that in this restaurant they have a bunch of Manga look how old these look the color is all faded but the owner of this restaurant he got a real taste he has a collection of my favorite M a vagabondo or Vagabond this is a masterpiece this is beyond manga this is like it’s not just manga this is one of the greatest fictional work of art ever I feel like it would be pretty tough for anybody to change my mind on this but I feel like after 2010ish Manga and Anime lost that craziness the originality that made them so special now it’s like you’re seeing something that you’ve seen before you know what I mean I’ve never seen anything like babon before I’ve never seen anything like slam down before like Dragon Ball but have I seen Jud kaisen or Demon Slayer before yeah I absolutely have there have been very similar stories very similar character Dynamics before oh I’m sorry for being a bromer guys I’m sorry I’ll just go back to eating the food and I must say I was surprised by what I got okay my Ramen is here oh my God that looks so good once again I got their most expensive Ramen but ,000 Yen and I got my here I mean they’re really setting the bar here this looks good and affordable well the question is how good is it let’s find out what I hold in my hand isn’t just ramen it’s the feeling of excitement and gratitude well well this looks almost as gorgeous as me oh my God nicely cut chashu here what can I say it was a textbook amazing Ramen with Rich pork broth and perfect amount of toppings it’s truly amazing that Ramen of this quality is easily accessible at this price point almost anywhere in Japan and it’s one of the things that I really love about Japan where they have extremely high standards of quality for food and regardless of the price it’s very hard to experience food that is not delicious let’s grind some sesame seeds add even more flavor to it got some eggs here the egg is so nice and jiggly look how the egg yolk is Flowing down and these things that are pink they’re actually fish eggs that has really nice flavor to it too now if you’re are smart one way to enjoy Ramen is by scooping up some of that rich soup and have some of that soup with the noodles should I have this GZA as well I got some soy sauce There used as a dipping sauce their Gua was extremely juicy on the inside and kind of crispy on the outside in Parts where it should be the bottom is really nice and crispy sometimes it really upsets me when I eat dumplings and The Dumpling red feels kind of dry instead of crispy but the dumpling wrap for this GZA felt extremely fresh this is just super delicious both of the food combined cost me less than $10 but I’ll tell you guys with confidence that nothing about the food felt cheap so this may seem impossibly affordable for some of you guys but I would say this is a typical price range for a lot of local ramen restaurants at the end of the day Ramen isn’t supposed to be expensive it’s people’s food a humble person like myself should be able to afford it man these people really know how to cook I feel like it’s a very beautiful thing that there’s this one food Ramen that’s just always accessible always affordable anywhere in Japan and they stay affordable too I heard that even McDonald’s have gotten really expensive in some parts of the world holy too this soup is oous oh man usually I don’t finish the soup when I eat ramen but this place I just can’t help it the soup is so good that it feels like I’m wasting it if I don’t eat it all this is no doubt one of the best ways to spend your $1 in Japan oh oh what a restaurant that was really amazing the ramen was really affordable but at the same time it was so good I’m not even sure how much better it gets from here if I pay $100 for a Ramen that’s got to be really good right or is it let’s go find out follow me my friends if a Ramen that is so affordable was as good as that how good does it get when I pay $100 for ramen well I’m about to find out in this restaurant called Maru they have a $100 Ramen that apparently has wagu beef inside well I wasn’t going to enjoy this luxury all by myself so please welcome my good friend michan y y this my good Japanese friend love love love love you do have to make a reservation for the $100 Ramen so keep that in mind M I have to apologize I could only afford one $100 Ramen so I’ll get you let’s get a normal Ramen yeah normal Ramen so in many small restaurants in Japan you’ll find this thing that kind of looks like a vending machine and this is the machine where you can purchase the tickets that you can exchange for food number one one okay put all the money inside let’s go show Taste inside the kitchen I saw them cooking this huge piece of wagu steak which was probably for my $100 Ramen what was the most expensive Ramen you had with course they also gave me a few things to go with the ramen they gave me some to add to the soup lime and this is called moromi it sounds like a Japanese anime girl’s name but it’s fermented B the last time you had ra last time so two or three months really are you Japanese hamburger hamburger so they sliced the steak from Aller and added it to the ramen and even added some marinated wagu as well I don’t know what you guys think but that looks like that’s a lot of meat and finally my $100 Ramen was here and they just had to be extra fancy with it oh that’s gold powder oh my God stylistically I think it was kind of a show you raen just loaded with A5 wagu beef and of course gold and chuffle oil as well apron so there’s their bestselling chashu chashu yes and this is my under honestly that looks really good too this looks really good too you want to try this first no Jimmy let’s go are you sure let’s go yeah the portion was quite large and Visually speaking it looked pretty amazing so have a piece of that W give be first just the beef by itself was extremely tender and tasted like a legitimately good steak the beef is amazing it’s like a really high quality steak the had this thick style of noodle I’m not sure if there’s a name for it but it went really well with the big chunky meat yeah the noodle that’s in her R in it’s kind of skinny whereas mine it’s almost like L noodles this is so good with the with a steak I was worried that it might be a gimmick but they definitely had the quality that matches the price okay unsurprisingly my friend mijan really liked it too do this go eat the gold wow wow how is [Music] it I feel like their chashu is really amazing too look at their fat chachu honestly their other Ramen was extremely high quality too very well crafted lots of meat and still somewhat reasonably priced I like this one too this is really oy too so I went to another Ramen place yesterday and I thought their Ramen was like really really amazing but yeah their Ramen was really good but this is much better than that Ramen too wowen so as a true gentleman I wanted michan to enjoy more than expensive Ramen so I end end up eating a lot of their showu Ramen as well but then even the other Ramen was so amazing that I had no complaints I’m not exactly sure how they make the soup for the $100 Ramen but by the taste of it it felt more beef based than pork [Music] based I want a rice they wagu Ramen it’s honestly pretty fairly priced because wagu beef of this quality is very expensive anyway I want to have that piece of gold meat too Shiny Gold just like my soul that slice of beef was more chewy than the steak but it was still a very high quality beef so these black things they’re truffle they go so well with the beef it’s amazing okay [Music] this is amazing Wu even just as a steak this is so good different taste I was supposed to add some spag into the soup I heard that it causes a lot of pain to the goose when you make this spag that makes me a little sad but I’m going to make their pain and death count by enjoying this wow oh yeah it might start to taste very elegant wa okay let me try this new flavor too I was wondering what this was and the chef told us that it’s white asparagus you sure that’s not too big there’s just so many ingredients that work together extremely well oh look at this half eaten white asparagus by me CH now I could eat this can I sell this to your viewers some dude that watches me Chanel would buy this I put it up on Japanese eBay after saying something like that it made it really weird for me to eat this in front of her but I secretly enjoy that weirdness overall I couldn’t be happier with the noodle it is a lot of money but I’m very satisfied with the noodle very very earlier today was asking me when you go to like a restaurant and you say it’s like really delicious do you mean it or are you just saying that I was like I always mean it I don’t lie in my videos well sometimes I do but not when it comes to the thing that being said this was very good ramen very good ramen very very delicious very very delicious hi wow you go first okay I’m that is just amazing Yes W yeah it’s like something new but good yeah W yeah so I think the real takeaway is that for about $10 or less in Japan you can get really amazing Ramen that can satisfy you the $100 Ramen of course you wouldn’t get it every day but did I think it’s a gimmick no it’s definitely not a gimmick it’s a great experience think of it as kind of a fine dining experience with just ramen yeah yeah yeah it was it was really great very very very great oh thank you guys so much uh we’re going
