Eating 7 scary street food in Thailand!

1. Fried Insects
2. Fried Snake
3. Grilled Crocodile
4. Jumbo size Grilled Octopus leg
5. Live Shrimps
6. Squid Shot
7. Durian

It is common to find insects at night markets in Thailand! A mix of skinny insects And big thick ones! Sago Grub This was nutty, gitty and has a strong grassy smell The other insects were Giant Cricket Bamboo Worm Mini Cricket Ant Grasshopper Silk Worm And Field Cricket They are very crispy and don’t have much taste actually Not too bad actually compared to their dreadful looks! Be careful though! They have sharp parts that can impale your gums At some places you can also find fried snakes too! It is a whole snake on a skewer With the guts removed It tasted like deep fried fish This was savory and actually tasty to me! So crispy and crunchy! Besides the usual meats such as chicken, pork and beef… Crocodiles is also eaten here! They have it spicy or bbq flavored here It looks like your regular skewered meats And actually tasted like normal meat! Like a hybrid of pork and chicken! Fearsome looking octopus legs are a hot item here! Served drenched in Mala sauce! It is hot and spicy, tender yet chewy! Looks like an Alien but taste so good! Live mini shrimps are also another common street food! They are mixed with basil leaves, mint leaves, lemongrass, onion and seasonings Eating it for the first time can be very scary! But actually the flavors are pretty good They are sour, spicy and very crunchy! Another street food eaten live is Squid shots! Price is depends on the size of the squid The squid was crunchy and chewy while the sauce was spicy and tangy It was also actually pretty tasty! Another common food that some people especially foreigners find very scary is the durian! For them the smell and texture of it is what they fear! It is a creamy fruit that has a complex flavor of sweetness and bitterness depending on the breed The strong odor can be too overpowering for people who are not custom to it It is either you love it or hate it!

  1. Thank you, thank you, I needed a good laugh 🤣. That humongous bug did not look nor taste good. The look of disgust in her face as you ate your handful of bugs, was hysterical! 😅😂🤣😭
Definitely a VERY different gourmet experience with alive squid 🦑 and shrimps 🦐, cooked octopus 🐙, a snake 🐍 and a crocodile 🐊. I was waiting for chimps, rabbits, eels, brains and guts, etc. And the lovely durian 🥴
My respects to you all for daring to eat these, though they have a high protein value. They are NOT for everybody.
Thanks as usual for the Michelin Stars approval from Mrs. Bacon. 👏
Though she didn't like the bugs, they are eaten as a delicatessen in some countries.

  2. I eat gator, so snake and crocodile would be easy. I could not handle bugs though. Just…no. 😱

  3. Hello! Come to pattaya! we have a market called “หมีทะเลมาเสริฟ” it is full of popular foods and drinks and even popular people like BANKII who is selling juice and Jae Khaek Haek Paak and lots more! today the market opens at 4PM (16:00) at Central Pattaya.

  4. ilk sahnede kız sanki türkçe konuşuyor yanında diyerek gülüp bir larva daha ekliyor.

  5. I've had durian, didn't like the creamy texture though it tasted okay. I don't do well with creamy foods other than cheese and cannot eat Jello 🤢

  6. Ms. Bacon, you are very brave, braver than me. I'd never eat something still alive though, I guess that's my red line. I know it's a cultural thing, but still…

  7. OK…I'm not a typical white guy, I'll eat most anything once…but bugs are a hard no way for me! A man's got to have limits! I could almost hear Mrs. Bacons thinking "The things I do for you and this channel!" with the bugs and the fried snake! The crocodile and the octopus are more up my alley, for sure, and maybe someday I'll man up enough to try fresh durian. But this was definitely a fear factor video, for sure.

  8. We eat alligator in the Southern USA. Its actually pretty good. As far as the rest of the stuff shown. Nope.

  9. Id try the croc and octopus but that would be my limit. Omg the live shrimp i nearly screamed!

  10. We live in 21st century and humans rights are now well developed and changed but these poor souls can’t do anything. Technology is so high but animal, insect’s are still consumed rather on a bigger scale than old years. I do not understand how someone’s death is delicacy for others? If a human eat other human then its cannibalism but well developed human eat poor souls then what it is called?
