The best way to explore the region by public transport is to take a flight to Sapporo (Hokkaido island).
There are numerous options available to find a suitable place to stay around the Furano area where the flower fields abound. I stayed in Asahikawa for two days. This region is really very beautiful in summers, spending some more time here is recommended.

Hokkaido the northernmost island of Japan with its rich and diverse ecosystem and stunning Vistas is a perfect destination for nature lovers as well as Adventure Seekers while winter transforms Hokkaido into a Wonderland of snow perfect for winter spots life emerges from hibernation in the warmer summer months revealing itself in a myriad of [Music] colors vast expanses of colorful flower Fields carpet the countryside there the afternoon we lay awake laugh so loud as the hours pass we’re going to do do it all again we want to chase the thing want to dance to the wild forano area is one such place located in central Hokkaido where colors abound in every [Music] direction I chose the Charming city of Asahi kava to stay for a few days to explore the magic of forano in the middle of July when the lavender blooms are at their Peak asai Kawa is a small City blending modernity with traditional appeal walking around the city evokes a quintessential being in Japan feeling colorful traditional restaurants serve a variety of famous local Hokkaido Seafood Delicacies convenient public transport system makes it an ideal hub for exploring nearby places amongst many options available able including trains and buses I chose their special seasonal lavender bus forano is about 56 km from Asahi kaava the lush green landscape kept unfolding amazing Vistas along the [Music] way the flower fields are scattered all over Fano and all are not easily accessible by public transport one needs to have a private vehicle to visit [Music] them however fita is one within walking distance from the station it takes about 20 minutes of walking through quiet streets from the station to F toita the first glimpse of lavender Bloom comes into sight at Hoku Yama Park which is the slope of a small hill that turns into a ski slope in [Music] Winters visitors can Ascend the hill either on foot or using a single chair ski lift to get a good view of the floral spectacle [Music] below besides lavender other colorful flowers also bloom in the [Music] season from the peak of Hoku Yama the view of tokachi Dake mountain range and the rural Countryside of forano looks nothing short of spectacular [Music] F toita in forano is known for its stunning Lavender Fields that burst into full bloom during summer months between late June to early August reaching Peak seasoned in mid [Music] July established by Tomita family the history of this site goes back to early 20s Century but it wasn’t until the 1950s that the farm began to shift its focus towards flag cultivation particularly lavender as the Region’s climate and soil conditions were ideal for growing this fragrant [Music] plant the farm became a popular tourist destination in the 1970s when it started opening its fields to visitors in summer months [Music] later in the same decade the Lavender Fields of fita featured on the calendar of Japan’s national Railway leading to a steady increase in visitors over the years during the peak of lavender season the farm becomes a symphony of colors and fragrances visitors can wander along Pathways that Wind Through the fields the rows of plants form undulating waves of vibrant purple Hues against a backdrop of surrounding mountains and lush green landscape the air is filled with the sweet and soothing Aroma of lavender which WFTS gently in the breeze bees and butterflies flit from flow adding to the Vibrance of the scene Japan is a country where every season is celebrated whether is cherry blossom in spring autumn colors in fall or lavender Bloom in summer fita comes alive with happy visitors in the month of July when Lavender is on Full Bloom [Music] the theme color of the farm is lavender uniform of the staff signboards vehicles are all in the same color restaurants serve delicious food prepared with locally grown ingredients the melon season coincides with lavender Bloom and visitors get a chance to taste delicious melons which Hokkaido is known for although lavender ice cream Remains the most popular choice of the season the complex of f Tomita is composed of many small fields that grow other varieties of flow besides lavender like poppies lies Mari gold and Scarlet Sage [Music] the rainbow field is probably the most beautiful where different colored flowers are grown on a slope along with lavender [Music] our small Forest features tall and slender Japanese white birch [Music] trees colors abound in every direction the eyes wander this family-owned farm also operates as a commercial Enterprise offering various products made from lavender such as a essential oils soaps perfumes and dried bouet in addition to selling fresh lavender and other flowers they even have a Distillery within the farm where visitors can see the process of lavender oil extraction the next day I boarded a train from A sahi Kava station this time heading towards a small station called bibu ASI [Music] this quiet town is known for shikis no Oka another summerflower Field located about 2 km from the [Music] station the 2 km walk to the field is sering and picturesque with rural landscape unfolding at every [Music] step golden fi ready to be harvested create a beautiful contrast against the Lush [Music] Greenery it is recommended to have Google Maps handy as the direction signs are given only in [Music] [Music] Japanese shiko Oka translates to Hill of seasonal colors and from Spring to Fall numerous varieties of flowers thrive on this land flower Fields cover a large area with a spectacular array of Hues like vibrant Reds cheerful yellows delicate pinks and a lot [Music] more July and August are the best months to visit when the fields are Ablaze with [Music] blossoms the meticulous arrangement of flowers creates a patchwork of colors carpeting the gentle slopes creating a postcard perfect scene against the backdrop of surrounding Hills [Music] for those seeking an aerial Adventure a helicopter ride can provide a bird’s eye view of the vibrant floral spectacle below visitors can also hop on a a tractor bus for a scenic loop around the ground or hire a self-driven buggy however in my opinion walking around the park leisurely is the best way to enjoy the Serenity and beauty of the park there is a shop that sells souvenirs and products made from locally soured ingredients visitors can try local Delicacies in a restaurant or the takeaway counter little did I know that being in aahi Kawa I was close to a place that has featured as the wallpaper of an Apple product an hour away from masahi kaava Blue pond near be town is known for its Vivid blue water caused by dissolved minerals that it gets from the Cliff of the falls it flows through [Music] surrounded by Forest Hills and withered large trees this spond became famous after Apple company used its image as wallpaper for one of its [Music] products despite its natural appearance the Blue pond is actually a man-made Reservoir formed by Dam construction on the be River paon looks surreal with its bright blue water surrounded by withered large trees and this was the end of my 2 days happy trip to asahikawa r t buildings as the chemicals
