I’m taking Shin Nihonkai Ferry from Niigata to Otaru (Hokkaido). I booked the largest cabin on the ship. This route allows you to arrive in Hokkaido early in the morning.
Deluxe cabin on the same ship

"I'm ready to eat" ππ
beautiful and interesting country…gross food
Wow. Even a man of my "extra dimension" would find this room most comfortable. Is Kikkoman a big brand in Japan? The food looked fabulous.
Love your videos, have learned so much about Japan from your travels.
Who, for Pete's sake, wants to arrive at 4:30 in the morning? π
Ooh, I β€β€β€ unajyu! I had it for dinner last week! Your lunch looks soooo yummy! I always enjoy your ferry trips.
Very cool! I hope to use this route later in the year, in the opposite direction. I hope a suite will still be available by then ππ»
Amazing egg.
It looks like it was a comfortable trip, and the food looked amazing. Thanks for taking us on the voyage.
I love it. I am taking notes as I watch your videos because you are travelling during the time frame that I plan to visit in 2026. Maybe we will cross paths then.
It looks like an amazing trip.relaxing.
I love that the ferry staff waves goodbye.
Thank you for another wonderful video Solo-san. π₯°
15:51 – That lunch looks like it's perfect for me!
I was hoping to see more videos about how to get to Hokkaido and Sapporo from the greater Kanto or Tohoku regions of Honshu. I'm in the early planning stages for a Japan trip and am planning to spend a majority of my time in Hokkaido. I have an idea of how I'll get back to Tokyo from there, but I'm still not sure about if I want to get there quickly by Shinkansen, or slowly by Ferry or overnight bus.
I always enjoy your videos
Sunflowah…?
Such a lovely suite, and a really beautiful dinner! Thanks as always for sharing your travels with us. π»β
Around 23:30 I would say 'basket of utensils' or 'utility items' as identifier. I'm sure there's a fancier word.., maybe 'panier dβustensiles' or 'Objets utilitaires' or some shlitz like that. Even the words 'Butlers Pantry' are not to far off from the purpose.
Your videos make me relaxed and hungry! Thanks for making these π
those carpets look like they're in bad shape
Are you gonna eat more seafood at Hokkaido?
I enjoyed "our" meal!!! The beef looked wonderful! Thank you!!
I've always wanted to try a grilled eel and rice bowl. They look delicious π. Maybe someday π
Thanks for sharing this ferry video!
Awesome as always, STJ! The room service food looked way too beautiful to eat! That's my kind of cruise. Get room service, chill out in the cabin, watch TV and take a nap!! (Yes, I am an American, lol!) π
Best parts of your videos are the food you eat and the room tours
You seem to eat a lot. Are you a really fat guy? We never see you so can only guess.
Seeing the karaoke room on board made me wonder why they're not on every ship. This is the first one I've noticed.
You were doubtless tired due to the lack of curry rice energy source.
5 dollar for a fried rice? Isnt that a robbery?
Oh man…unagidon with tamagoyaki! I am hungry for eel now!
Yeah, you may not be a big fan of eel, but it's one of my favorites! Find me a place that serves unagidon, takoyaki, and okonomiyaki and you have a customer for life!
Taiyo ni mamorarete!
Your videos are completely wonderful
More ferry videos! Thank you solo travel Japan πβ€οΈ
Thanks!
OMG, thatβs the size of a hotel room
You know, before finding your channel, I had no desire to go to Japan. Now, I want to go so bad ! But I would have to diet before going because the food looks so delicious ! Thank you again for another great video. By the way, I just planted my sunflowers π» today π
Very nice video! Very nice cuisine! And snow!!!!!!!
your ferry videos have become part of my winding down routine before bed. thank you so much!
Nice trip
I mm will never see Japan in person so I very much enjoy watching your videos !
That eel looked π€πΎ I love eel!
Your cabin looked π€πΎ also.
I wanna be like you when I "grow up" (I'm probably way older than you) Haha
"Special lunches and dinners". So you don't actually care about the size of the room?π
When he said βWhatβs in the box?β did anyone else picture an itsy bitsy Gweneth Paltrow head in there?
This was so fun, as always, STJ! Thank you! And that food looked absolutely stunning! ππππ³οΈ
omg I live in Niigata and I already miss the old bus stop, it was one of the last if not THE last bus terminals in Japan to have the busses park in backwards. I also took the same ship route in March but in the opposite direction when I returned from my solo trip to Hokkaido!
Wonderful. Greetings from Canada.
Where do you buy the ferry tickets?
β€β€
No curry? Better luck next time, STJ.
