Join me as I try out 10 UNIQUE Japanese food items from skewers and grilled fish, to famous fried chicken and Donburi (Rice Bowl). This is everything I tried:

have you always been curious about
Japanese food good cuz I will show you a
variety of Japanese small plate items at
a place called donburi in Toronto’s
Markham area the hub for East Asian food
fair in Toronto me Mom and Dad will try
out the concept of small plates and
variety similar to the Spanish concept
of Tapas so sit back relax and enjoy as
I present my take on the outof the world
flavors and guys smash that like And
subscribe buttons for the algorithm if
you’re new to my channel let’s begin
guys so over here we have a whole
combination of different things let me
quickly show you so you’ve got the
Wasabi chicken uh you’ve got the nanai
you’ve got the uh uzuma Maki I think
that’s the correct one but let me just
confirm that uzuma makes uh we do have a
few skewers of uh garlic prawns over
here there’s a scallop as well and then
finally right that one that’s the one
I’m super excited for cuz that’s cutle
fish cuddlefish you don’t really get
very often in many of the places in
Toronto the last time I had cuddlefish
was in Sri Lanka right off the coast of
gface green and that thing was
absolutely boners tasty so I’m super
excited for this let’s let’s give it a
try starting off with the sculp
scer sweet really sweet succulent and
juicy
um cuz it’s got a bit of a garlic
glazing to it garlic and sesame glaze
ridiculously good man is like really
tasty give some of it to Mom and Dad
they always been skeptical of scholar so
but to me I really enjoy
it next let’s try the uh Wasabi the
Wasabi
chicken m
spicy gelatinous you have a little bit
of CH in there um some sesame seeds uh
it’s been sprinkled with some seaweed on
top just a little hint of Wasabi so
that chicken’s been marinated really
well because you can kind of taste the
juiciness from it and you get the leaks
in the end right there you can see it
super tasty super good this is uh good
quality
stuff this is also very nice let me try
the uzuma Maki right now so basically
theum Maki has um this
bacon that is the wrapping for um
scallop like scallop that’s been L with
big around it and and then that SP is
right in the center let’s give it a

shot the scallop has been wrapped with a
little bit of cream
cheese before it’s been wrapped in bacon
and the Bacon’s been glazed with the
raki
sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds
really boss combination it’s just been
done right the bacon is not too
chewy not overdone not too salty
everything’s in Harmon super Savory
stuff it’s
good did you it so I just ate the CLE
fish I got to say compared to the CLE
fish the scallop was outstanding the
scallop they they had some kind of like
a garlic ginger reduction on top of it
that even the scallop by itself is very
sweet which is supremely freaking great
so I’d suggest this SC over the CLE fish
to see you guys

now and that’s round one round two is
coming we got a karag we got a takayaki
takayaki is always going to be something
that kind of determines how good a place
is and I’ve been to this place before
spoiler look that’s why I wanted to show
it to you guys but I’m coming here after
a good like 2 years now um menus changed
a lot and something really beautiful and
then the final thing like the third
thing that we got is going to be a
surprise it’s a very traditionally
Japanese fish um I’ll keep it to surpr
so stay tuned so guys that’s the carag
right there take a look we’re going to
be digging right in let me tell you what
it’s going to beting like right off the
bat you can see it’s like very
glistening it’s just right amounts of uh
crispy on the
outside uh spicy smelling as well
look it’s
crispy spicy really spicy I mean this
has got to be one of the spiciest K that
I’ve ever had it’s really
good 10 out of
10 guys so we got a second portion of
takayaki as well well the first portion
of Takaki this is round two so check out
the takoyaki we’re going to be taking
right in
the right amount of
to meat
ratio recipe on the outside really tasty
it’s been than that sauce if you let the
sauce sit for too long it’s
get really
let me show it to you guys a little bit
up close so sanma is a very famous
Japanese actually it’s one of the most
common Japanese fishes uh it’s usually a
form of a mackerel but it’s like slim
thin uh it’s silvery in color let me see
if I can pull up a photo of it on the
screen to show it to you guys and it’s
here but basically uh s is a very very
homemade or household kind of a fish uh
in Japanese food and this is just
that it’s basically a form of ma let’s
try the S fish
now so right
there that’s a grilled S I had a little
bit of it super good super uh kind
crispy break it up a little bit there’s
going to be that one Center bone for the
s
that you have to just be a little
careful about they also give it with a
little bit of um crushed garlic so I got
a little bit of the crush garlic with my
with a bit of it I’m trying
it really good it’s a little bit Smokey
but it also has been glazed with a soy
sauce simple salt and pepper soy kind of
a thing and the garlic makes the whole
like garlic is basically the flavor
right there garlic and the green onions
really good sh also just to let you guys
know uh something special that they
added into their takoyaki is these bits
of Rik or like a radish equivalent and
it’s got a little bit of a pickly kind
of sour taste to it it tastes really
good perks up the flavor of the takayaki
like right
away look guys we have the K just
complet completely slaughtered
sauce everything at this place feels
really tasty that’s usually not the case
Mom and Dad don’t like everything but
they do at this place everything’s
getting consumed
fast we were just discussing that the
KAG tastes so exceptionally good because
it’s definitely been double fried so it
doesn’t go yeah soggy it doesn’t go
soggy really quickly and the best best
best best part about it is the sauce
that they’ve added on top of it I think
this has been the only place like maybe
I’ve seen a there’s a place in Montreal
called Kazu if I no no no it’s not a
question of if I’ll definitely take you
guys there with me because that’s been
like one of the best spots in terms of
uh Japanese food for me but basically
this uh in Kazu I’ve had KAG which has a
a little bit of sauce on it but this
one’s been completely DED with sauce and
the sauce that they’ve added to it it’s
got I think it’s got a little bit of
shashito peppers which is kind of like a
smokey uh uh ghost pepper uh uh chili
like a dried chili and uh
Mayo
outstanding like the chicken doesn’t go
soggy uh the sauce is just right in
balance and it gives a little bit of a
flavor crunch like a spicy flavor to the
KAG itself so guys that was round two
take a look take a look we’re still
working through
that round three third and final round
is about to come stay
tuned all right take
yes so finally for three we got
ourselves rice and Amor rice is a very
uh traditional street food kind of item
you have seen like tons of YouTube
videos for it so I’m definitely going to
be doing the obligatory cut to the
middle of The Omelette for it uh and you
can see what it’s been filled with it’s
exceptionally hard to get the omelet to
be a little like wet on the inside still
but we’re definitely going to try it out
3 2 1 I think it’s originally supposed
to be cut that way so let’s go

okay it’s it’s there it’s a
little almost done let me try let me
know let me tell you guys what the
flavor profile look it is
light let’s get something right from the
edge all first bite of the OM rice
there’s chicken in here as
well and the rice has almost like a
tomatoey flavor to
it the sauce almost like a almost like a
spicy unagi kind of a
sauce it’s good it’s really good very
simple dish not too heavy on the spices
not too dull it’s good rice omelet rice
omelette rice basically omelet rice uh
it’s really good man like amazing trying
to get uh there’s this guy on the
internet who teaches other guys to make
the perfect omelet rice and everyone
practically everyone fails doing that
right this
thing don’t don’t look at how it looks
like see how it tastes and it’s really
good that rice is just perfectly
flavored there’s some peppers in it
there cars in it it’s a very hotty kind
of tast right overall
so absolutely 10 out of 10 this is going
to be a perfect breakfast or dinner kind
of BH for you I’m having this during
lunch time but it makes sense it makes
sense regardless of what time of the day
you’re having
this so guys that was us at dri the
place it’s like right behind us we’re
going to be heading out and oh my God
it’s windy it’s cold in this windy
that’s the place oh there’s a Korean
Grill house over there as well let’s go
