it’s a beautiful National Park called
nicoo National
Park and the waterfall is called Kagan
waterfall but it’s such a stunning uh
area to visit here in uh Japan
[Music]
today is my third day in this beautiful
National Park called Nico National
Park and my mission today is to take
this that cable car to take me all the
way up to get a beautiful view of a lake
called
chenzi and a beautiful uh waterfall
called kigan so let’s go and explore
this
beautiful place together the area is
called uku
Nik and it’s a little bit far from
Nico so I had to uh get myself a two-day
pass for the
bus from the Town Center it takes about
40 minutes um 40 minutes uh bus ride to
to get
here and here is the place where
where I’m going to buy a ticket but this
is pretty much is the view that I am
expecting to see right there this
waterfall along with the uh with that
beautiful Lake and here is the uh that’s
the kib car that I am about to uh to get
on
[Music]
[Music]
all right that is the name of the place
right
there obviously there is uh an
observation uh deck up there that will
uh offer a beautiful uh View and the
rway ticket is about um 900 yen
round trip going
up going up and down but I got a
discount 10% discount because I have the
two-day pass for the bus
system in
uh in this beautiful National
Park and here is the
uh
view of the waterfall
later I will get down to the uh all the
way down to the waterfall to get a
closer look of the uh of the waterfall
from down
there and and that is the name of the uh
waterfall Kagan
waterfall and I think that waterfall is
the only exit the water exit from the uh
from Lake uh from that beautiful Lake
Chu
zinzi Let’s uh see what the uh
what the view is uh is like I think it’s
going to rain
today it was a little bit Sunny
earlier but I hope it doesn’t
rain so that is uh down there is the uh
is the parking
lot I was told that the boat there is a
sightseeing Boat Boat Tour that I can uh
take uh along the uh the lake but it
it’s closed it will open open tomorrow I
think so I’ll come back probably
tomorrow to do the lake uh
tour okay I’m going to go down and then
I’ll take a bus to to the lake
nearby since the uh the pass covers uh
all the uh bus trips uh in this uh
region
[Music]
[Music]
all right my next mission is is to go to
the waterfall it’s called Kagan
waterfall and I think I will have to
take an elevator to take me all the way
down and that will offer me a beautiful
uh view of the of the
waterfall so I guess I’m just following
them maybe they’re going the same way um
that is the name of the of the uh of the
waterfall Kagan and that is the
second most uh
visited place in the
uh in this uh area called Kuno
Niko and the place is full of uh coffee
shops
and and a big group tour group is coming
so I’m going to have to help hurry up
before they uh they show
[Music]
up all
[Music]
all right I’m almost
there the viewing
platform of the
waterfall and I’m sure it’s going to be
beautiful
wow I guess I can go downstair right
there to get a uh better
view so the elevator took me all the way
down so the the bus station is up
there and let’s
go downstairs
such a beautiful waterfall
wow I
wish I wish I could hike down all the
way down to uh to go there but I don’t
think they allow
me and there is a rest area here small
uh convenience store
and the uh after that I will try to go
to the to the
lake and the lake is up
there see I can still go downstairs to
capture a
view uh that will give me a closer look
I guess so let’s
go this is
another shop small shop here in case I
need to get something to drink or snacks
to eat
here we go I
think I think this offers better view
right
here and I just found out that there is
another viewing platform for
free I don’t have to pay for the uh
elevator earlier I was there the
elevator platform but this one is the uh
is the free one I’m not sure if the free
one offers the same kind of view or not
but regardless uh the elevator is very
cheap it’s like uh 570 Yen that’s about
$3.75 is absolutely uh uh cheap
and I will let you decide whether the
free viewing platform offers better view
than the paid platform or not a lot of
conversation going on here you
see you see this is a free one this view
is for
free but uh the one that goes all the
way down you have to take the uh the
elevator so uh I think the
uh the elevator one is uh is
better because you can see the waterfall
the waterfall from the uh from the
bottom so now this area is
huge and uh and I’m going to try to go
to find if I can get closer to the lake
to get a a better view of the lake or if
there is even a hiking trail that uh
that goes uh around this beautiful uh
beautiful National Park and here is the
uh the
map and two days ago I was in the uh in
the Town Center called niik Town Center
where a lot of temples and shrines you
can check out that video it’s a
beautiful uh historic town it’s a little
bit far from here by the way it’s like
40 minutes U uh bus ride
so let’s find out what the next
destination
is all right I got to the
lake to zeni
Lake and it’s a little bit
windy very windy so I had
to wear my uh uh sunglasses because my I
have um eye
allergy and my sunglasses are actually
Custom Design they are also prescription
a special kind of uh sunglasses that uh
that took almost 2 weeks um for the
company to make uh to make them for me
back in the United
States what a beautiful uh what a
beautiful place to uh
to
walk and it’s a little bit away from the
uh from the
tourists I only see one lady right there
but it’s really Serene
environment it really is so beautiful it
reminds me of the
lake in Austria that I
visited I have a video of uh that
Lake and also the lake in uh
Japan um in Fuji area Fuji um Mount Fuji
area I visited that uh
region about 2 weeks
ago and it’s really
[Music]
cheap uh to uh to move around this area
the the bus the unlimited bus ride from
the town center of Nico to 2day pass is
uh 2,300 Yen and that is about what
about $14 or
$15 and uh because of the Japanese
currency yen is very very um I don’t
know what happened to it it
collapsed and uh if you are using the US
dollar if your home country uh is the
United States I can tell you this is the
best time to uh to visit EP
2024 at the time I’m recording this uh
this video so um so today
pass uh unlimited bus is uh $14 and that
elevator that I took to go down to get
the a view of the uh waterfall is only
$3.75 so total is about what I have not
even spent uh $20 so far to go around
and uh and enjoy this uh this
beautiful uh um
environment so I’m going to keep walking
uh up
there and I I say cheap I’m not sure
where what country you are from but I am
comparing it to the United
States um before visiting uh Japan
before coming to Japan I was in um
California and
Texas and I saw sold my car back in the
United States because I am um I uh
retired early from my job from my
full-time job back in the United States
and I am traveling um full-time so I
sold everything back in the United
States because I’m going to be traveling
from one country to the next for the
next I don’t know for the next one year
two years 3 years maybe forever I’m not
sure but uh
the um when I sold my car in the United
States I I I had to take Uber in my
final days in the United States I had to
take Uber from one place to the next to
and uh an Uber ride every day cost me
about almost $ 35
us for just um three or four miles uh
trip and now I am in Japan in this
beautiful um National Park
unbelievable nature with the beautiful
landscapes and I have not even spent $20
for for the entire two days to go you
know enjoy this National Park so you got
my point I am comparing it to the cost
of my Uber my daily Uber ride in the
United States
versus this Unlimited um transportation
system in this beautiful national park
that is not even uh $15
US so for me it’s really
uh a good deal in my um in my
opinion but
however if
you move from one city in Japan to
another city for example you’re moving
from Tokyo to Osaka or from Tokyo to
Hokkaido you will have to take Shen Shen
Canen something called shenen the bullet
train the the the the fast uh train
system and that is the only thing that
will cost you money but it still it’s a
cheaper and better way of uh traveling
within uh
Japan is better than flying in my in my
opinion even though flying is cheaper
but flying you will have to go to the
airport and you will have to go through
security and you have to wait and all
that kind of stuff and uh check in your
bags it’s a little bit headache if
you’re flying but if you take the Chen
Canon train it’s it’s more
convenient and also you get the
opportunity to to see um the Landscapes
along the um along the way if you are
taking a train and this is my second
visit to Japan this is not the first
visit by the way I visited Japan a year
and a half ago and you can check my old
videos of Japan when I was in uh Kyoto I
filmed many many many
videos uh in
Kyoto that was back in late
2022 to early 2023 that’s when they just
opened uh the country to the
the tourists after
covid and I was one of the uh the first
uh travelers to go to
Kyoto and that was during the co some
kind of Co restrictions I had to uh to
be vaccinated uh I think three shots
they require three shots at the time but
now April 2024 there is no
restrictions um at all no Co uh test
required anymore which is really uh good
but in Japan you will also when you are
in Japan regardless whether it’s the
pandemic or um or not you will see
people wearing U masks so
uh and I respect uh
their their decision to do that I mean
it’s uh they they do that even before
the pandemic I think that’s part of the
culture and I try to be
mindful of their
culture sometimes I feel like okay uh
when I am in a crowded area on a train
or stuff like that maybe I don’t need to
maybe I need to wear a mask or something
like that but I figure out that a lot of
uh people don’t do that anymore they
don’t wear masks
anymore so uh what else to explore let’s
go let’s go find out if there is
something else to uh to
see you see this is the
boat um that uh that cruise along this
beautiful Lake but they’re not um
operating um for some
reason but the lady told me that uh it
will open um tomorrow so I’m not sure if
I’m gonna come back tomorrow or not I
still have uh two more actually three
more days um here in uh
Nico
but I’ve seen uh many many uh Lakes uh
over the course of my life so I don’t
think I will
uh I will do
it I’ve taken many uh boat tours in the
Pharaoh Islands in uh and in Austria and
also here in Japan and and and many
other
countries and the view is almost similar
so I don’t think I will uh I will do it
I would rather go
to do some things that are more
interesting or see something that I have
not seen
before and this is a
cheni post
office and the reason that uh it got my
attention and and I decided to film it
it’s
because I am trying to get rid of a lot
of
stuff that I have in my
suitcase and uh like I said before I am
traveling
full-time and uh I decided to take a a
little bit big
suitcase but I realized that uh later 2
weeks later that
that this is not the way to travel
because I don’t like to carry uh stuff
with me I like to be uh I like to travel
light so I have a lot of stuff to throw
away but I feel sad uh I feel bad that I
am throwing away stuff and they’re very
good stuff like I’m for example I have a
lot of uh Patagonia jackets like this
one that I’m
wearing I’m trying to get rid of two
jackets and I went to a Patagonia store
in uh
kizawa a town that I visited
um uh like uh last week and I went to
that store Patagonia thinking that they
might be able to buy it back and they
said uh no we don’t uh we don’t take
your stuff they even refused to u to
recycle it I said okay I’m going to I’m
giving it away see back in the United
States if I go to any Patagonia store
they buy it back or they or they take it
for recycling but here in Japan they
told me this store only repair if you
have any repair we fix it for you but we
don’t take it back so I have two jackets
to uh trying to get rid of and also I
have an external uh hard drive heavy one
20 terabytes the size and I use that for
my um video uh videos I for a
backup but now because I am uh I don’t
need that
anymore because um it’s
heavy and I paid for almost $300 for
that external hard drive so the other
option I have is to go to FedEx or um
post office and ship those things to my
friends back in the United States to see
if they want to if they want it or not
one of my friends said okay I will um
I’ll take it let’s let’s uh let’s go
this way because I see a beautiful
Shrine right there so one of my uh
actually U co-workers who used to work
with me prior to my
retirement he said okay I am uh I’m
going to take the your external hard
drive but for the Patagonia jackets I
don’t think they’re going to fit him
because he’s uh he’s big and my size is
um my size is
medium
so I the other option is to go and look
for for a place to uh donate look at
that to gate it’s really
beautiful see since the wind stopped I
don’t need the uh the sunglasses anymore
like I said I wear the sunglasses to
block the wind from hitting my ice
because I have a ice allergy
allergy so the other option is there is
another I heard that there is another
store Patagonia store in
hoshima that actually uh take the stuff
old stuff and
recycle and also they might even buy
them
back but I will be in
hoshima um next month late
May and I don’t want to carry heavy
suitcase until late May so I’m trying to
do it now try to get rid of
stuff and uh I do see the uh there is a
museum right there but I am not
interested in going into the museums I
like to
uh wander around and from outdoor
and walk through this uh it looks like
it’s a nice uh nice
area to uh to explore but for some
reason I don’t see uh I don’t see people
here or maybe I’m not even allowed to
walk to walk here or
not and
uh and this area is it’s called like I
mentioned before UK Nik not Nik but it’s
UK UK
Niko and the uh most people who do day
trip from Tokyo they don’t come here
because it’s a little bit far they go to
the town to Historic to the historic
town I should say and I covered that in
another
video uh that’s where the dir Tripper
from Tokyo they go
to but here
is only for people who uh who are
staying in niik and they have the time
to to go and uh wander
around and
uh am I even allowed to go inside or
nobody’s asking for a ticket
or I just want
to I just want to the uh capture The
View you look at that it’s really
beautiful
yeah this video was supposed to be uh
short but it looks like it’s going to be
another another video that is almost an
hour most of my videos
are over 30 minutes but I’m trying to
keep it uh within 30 minutes but every
time I try I
fell this gentleman is coming from down
there
wow maybe there is a
hiking hiking trail right there you
see it’s really Serene environment wow
really beautiful and uh and the trail
continues it goes
somewhere I’m not sure where it’s going
to go but I want to go back to the to
the other side because there is the view
of the lake from the other
[Music]
side you see the the lake is
there what a beautiful uh
what what is that uh a shrine or Temple
I think it’s Temple because I don’t see
a TOA u a gate if I see a t gate maybe
that’s a that’s a
shrine but I do I did see a t gate up
there maybe it is a shrine not a temple
I have no
idea
so forgive me if I don’t have uh
information for the places because as
usual I am uh traveling exploring the
areas without doing any kind of
research because if I do read it’s going
to take forever to to learn a lot of
places that I visit unless if the place
is very very important I read about it
but I don’t read
everything and most of the places that I
visit I um I I find them by uh I find
them by accident for example this place
I have no plan to visit this this one
and I am sure if I keep going down there
I will discover something new since I
have plenty of time it’s still uh 1:00
uh
p.m. I don’t want to end my day my day
yet so I will just keep walking and see
what uh what I’m going to come across
[Music]
I see a beautiful uh wooden
bridge right
here and it looks like it’s uh it’s
another another beautiful
uh
Trail right there that takes you all the
way
down but I think it’s worth it to to go
and check it out you see it’s called
Lake choen g n nature
trail so
I I had no idea that there is such a
thing a natural nature trail in this
area see it goes all the
way all the way
down so tomorrow will be my rest
day I’m not planning to film anything or
I’m not planning to go anywhere tomorrow
will be the relax day stay relax and do
a laundry in case you wonder how my
daily life is like since I am not on a a
vacation this is not a vacation this is
my life now daily life it’s like like I
told you before I don’t have a specific
home
base my home base will be actually
hotels or
Airbnb the plan is to stay in this area
for for 5 days and then go North toward
U Hokkaido Island um Direction and then
stay there in
Hokkaido and I’m not sure how long I’m
going to stay there and then fly back
fly to U Osaka fly to Osaka and that
will be my base I’m planning to stay in
Osaka for for probably 3
weeks I um I rented Airbnb for 2 weeks
because I could not find a place that uh
is available for 3
weeks so I will have
to then uh stay at the hotel for the
third
week and then from
Osaka I’m flying not I’m flying I’m um
I’m going um East toward the nakazaki
toward nakazaki Hiroshima
nakazaki uh that direction
until uh until late
June or early
June and then I will leave
Japan for another beautiful country and
I will stay in that country After Japan
for almost a month and a half a country
that is not far from from here and you
will find out um you will find out U
soon
but uh this week is almost my third week
I would say in Japan and so far
I I love it I really
do and uh and I’m sure I’m going to see
a lot of beautiful uh places once I move
away from the uh from the famous uh
spots from the touristy uh um cities
once I go North toward uh Hokkaido I’m
sure I’m going to see a a lot of uh
beautiful landscapes like like
that and I’m really
surprised pretty surprised that the
hotels
are very
cheap I have no rent I don’t pay for
rent in the United States anymore I
don’t have a mortgage in the United
States anymore
and I can tell you that what I
pay here in um Japan to stay at the
hotels
fulltime you know cost me less actually
less than what I used to pay back in the
United
States so it’s actually way
cheaper in other words it’s way cheaper
to travel the world fulltime you
know and uh then then living in the
United States
paying the mortgage uh payment and rent
and all that kind of stuff but I don’t
have I don’t have any of that
anymore and that is why I
uh I like this kind of
lifestyle and the hotels that I’m
staying at are really nice
hotels minimum three stars hotels they
come with breakfast and uh free Wi-Fi
and everything but back in the United
States when I was renting a place I had
to pay for the U for the utilities I
have pay for the electricity water and
gas and Wi-Fi and internet and all that
kind of stuff it adds up but what I pay
here in
Japan a hotel
stay like for $ 55 us a day and that
comes with air conditioning that comes
with the internet and uh and everything
for only $55
us not uh not that
expensive and if I do decide to actually
spend less even less than that I can
stay in Airbnb accommodation and that’s
the plan when I go to Osaka because I’m
going to be
um um I’m going to stay put there for
three weeks because after a while you
get tired from packing and packing
checking in a hotel one hotel to the
next you get tired after a while so it’s
better to after a while to to pick one
location and stay for one month just to
recharge your uh your battery your body
battery battery so to
speak and that’s what I’m going to
do let’s go down and see
uh if I if I can go all the way there I
see
people uh
fishing right
there you know I’m not sure if I need
um a fishing permit here or not to be in
this uh in this area see along the way I
saw a lot of signs but when I when I
film I uh I don’t pay that much
attention to the sign especially when I
do my walk and talk I need
to I need to pay
attention CU I don’t want people to
stare at me and say hey you’re not
supposed to be
here but I do see a beautiful um
beautiful um house
here and it’s really nice nice um
area so for all intent and purpose I
will try to wrap up the
video somewhere
here and if you are watching if you are
um watching let me know what country you
are from because there is a high
likelihood that I will visit your
country at some point in the
future because now I have a list of all
the countries that I want to visit and I
do see sometimes every every now and
then when people find my videos by
accident they tell me they are from
Argentine they are from Chile they are
from Peru they are from you know um
Indonesia and all that kind of
stuff and guess what I already visited
Peru that’s already off the
list and um if somebody’s from arent
Argentina and that is another country
that I will visit
soon and Chile as well in South
America and I really like
uh this uh this
area so after oku Nik I am visiting
another another uh Town very far from
here so it’s going to take me about 4
hours or 5 hours train
ride uh North in the north um toward
Hokkaido and I will stay there four or
five days you see so I pick I pick some
towns along the way to
Hokkaido and
um and I want to
stop in each town and stay for 5 days
and I picked
Nico because I like the national
park and the one after that you will
also like
it and it it also offers a very very
beautiful
uh beautiful
[Music]
[Music]
nature I am visiting this beautiful
palace called Tam maawa
Palace and I think it was the uh it’s
the former residence for the Imperial
family and uh let’s go check it out it
looks so beautiful from
outside and I said okay let’s let’s
start
filming the plan today is just
to to explore this town without filming
without doing any YouTube stuff but I
say they will be as shame not to
capture at least
uh part of
it and there is a fee to go uh to go
inside I think it’s 600 Yen that I will
pay right now to go inside but I am I
have a feeling that they will not
uh allow uh a camera inside
so let’s go walk from outside a little
bit the garden looks so beautiful um to
me and this is about 10 minute uh bus
ride from the Town
Center the this area is called uh NCO
the town is called
NCO and it’s one of the most beautiful
uh uh uh towns in Japan in part because
it has a beautiful National Park which
is so huge that will take you at least
two days to to explore and I have other
videos that I uh that I have in
my Japan playlist you can check it
out let’s go uh inside and see what’s
going to happen inside with my
camera take my shoes off put your shoes
into shoe box oh shoe box okay
okay where I put my
shoes inside and any place you and
Camera good good camera okay you can
take a picture okay thank
you all right they allow me to
take
um photos and videos let’s let’s go buy
a ticket now
what
[Music]
all right right I am
entering the Garden
area and it looks like it’s a storm
coming coming in is
so
windy
today as you can see you can hear
it the audio quality will not be that
good due to the
wind but before I leave this uh
beautiful palace I want to
see what it looks like from the
outside and the ticket
um that I have is only 600 Yen but they
give me a discount because I have the uh
the something called ni pass or
something like that so they gave me um
uh it’s discounted to 500
yen wow it’s really beautiful uh
peaceful uh environment uh right here
so this uh Palace uh Villa was built in
1899 and they do have the uh a
video that uh you need to watch when you
go inside the uh the palace they let you
watch a video to give you an
introduction to what this place is all
about which is really really useful
and the uh the whole area the whole town
I should say is uh
stunning it’s really uh it’s really
beautiful there is a a Japanese saying
that says do not say Kiko until you see
Niko I think Kiko means um beautiful in
uh in Japanese so in other words they’re
saying don’t say beautiful until you see
Nico which is true it’s really beautiful
uh the uh they have the National Park
niiko National
Park and the uh what else the uh the the
temples and shrines and they are all uh
UNESCO UNESCO world heritage uh sites
we can keep
going there was a big group that came in
a tour group and I had to wait for them
until they uh left and now the place is
uh so peaceful just me in this uh
beautiful uh
Palace see they don’t want me to go all
the way down but uh uh but the garden is
huge it goes uh it goes that way and I’m
not sure what uh what I’m going to
see there is a beautiful hotel
nearby that is also uh one of the uh the
sites that is on the list when I grabb
the uh the tour guide the free uh the
free tour guide that they they give when
you buy the uh the bus ticket and that
hotel is on the list I’m not sure how
far is it from here but I might uh I
might go and uh check it out and see
what is what is all
about the the the building
uh the building I should say it looks
beautiful from here so there will be uh
a lot of uh
photo opportunities if you are are into
photography this place will be uh will
be heaven for
you yeah you look at that uh small pond
right
there it’s uh it will be a shame if I
visit this place and uh I don’t um film
I will be really really
remiss um so that is why I decided to
take out my camera from my
backpack and film even though I don’t
have enough uh battery and I did not
take uh the uh the backup batteries
so so my camera might uh get low on
battery anytime soon
now so I’m trying to hurry up and finish
filming and see if I can go to that a
hotel and I hope it’s nearby I will go
check her out and capture uh some
footage of
it wow I found this one an air raid
shelter entrance uh
Trace I think they used it during um
World War II
because the uh the family the Imperial
family uh I think they
evacuated the um the capital and they
came here to to hide from the bombing
and all that kind of stuff so but it’s
really interesting I’m I’m I wonder if
they
uh if they allow people to go uh
actually to go inside I I don’t think uh
I don’t think the door is open but it
doesn’t hurt to to
try and see but it’s
locked and they have a
small cafeteria just right by the exit
right there so here is the
exit and let’s see what they
sell they sell rise with I think that is
beef for 1,100 Yen which is not that
bad 1,100 yen is about um $7 7 or
$8 to get a meal of
um uh rice and
beef let’s go uh let’s go check it
out we have coffee too

all right Kan Hotel history
house that’s just a a few minute walk
from that beautiful palace that I just
visited and this is
another
one that is on the
list and but I’m not sure where the uh
the entrance is but I can see that it
looks so beautiful from
outside the birthplace of Kanaya
Hotel obviously canaya hotel is um is a
famous hotel but but I I don’t think the
hotel itself is
located
here but this is looks like it’s uh the
a museum that has a history of
that hotel I guess and here is the
cottage in restaurant and bakery and I
was told that the sell they sell the
ticket uh right
here and it’s only 500 yen so I would
say it’s worth it to go and uh uh check
it out from from outside because it
looks so
beautiful let’s
go up ahead and
see maybe this is where they they ask
for the
ticket right there Turn Style
machine all right I decided to
to buy the ticket 550
Yen since I am already here I said why
not just check it out
