Excuse the SEO words:
japan, japan travel ban, japan travel ban update, when will japan open borders, japan travel update, japan reopen, japan entry, japan reopen, japan tourism, japan info

okay welcome to ninja monkey Sunday one
more time end of the week or Monday
depending where you’re at I’m Nathan
ninja monkey and if you’re new to the
channel thanks for joining us every
Sunday I try my best to answer your
Japan related travel questions there’s
always some things that I can’t answer
I’m an honest um person and I will tell
you if I don’t know the answer and I
will hopefully direct direct you in the
right the right direction anyway um also
I’d like to start off by thanking my
moderators who are always on my back and
um and help the the the chat and
everything go very very smoothly as
always remember to at ninjam monke to
get my attention or simply highlight
question before asking the questions I
will be um giving priority to members
patrons super chats Etc but I will
eventually hopefully get to your
question please don’t repeat your
question and please um check out to see
if somebody’s already asked a question
and if you’re watch watching this on the
replay welcome thanks for watching the
replay let’s get to it straight away um
I’ll get to it and I’ll I’ll say my
greetings as as I read the chat instead
of going through every single person who
who is here because I’m sure that people
have questions for me and um the last
update that I put out was pretty loaded
I have to say and not Not only was it
loaded but I left out quite a few pieces
of of information that I decided last
minute that um it was just going to make
the video way too long so I think I made
the right decision though some people
don’t like everything you know like so
hey frog lady is in the house thanks for
being here oh go I guess for you it is
and um Kathleen thanks for for coming
here Fang also girl wander down and
let’s see if there’s any questions let’s
see Jim Ross is in the house early must
be really early in Japan right
now hey so we start with a question
ninja monkey where is the best and most
convenient place to stay in Tokyo that
is the most impossible question to
answer um I think that Tokyo is
convenient depending on what your needs
are some people are going to literally
go to Tokyo and do Disney and that will
be one location for them if you want
night life and you want sort of like um
things that are open 24/7 pretty much
then Shinjuku is definitely the young
like buzzing sort of area um if you want
place a place that is accessible from
Narita Airport easily then weno um weno
has a good vibe and it’s one of my
favorite places to to stay um again
there is no right no wrong lately I’ve
been staying ikuro and I found ikuro to
be quite a good place to stay because
sort of like easy to get get around to
where you need not really the most
interesting place to explore once you’ve
explored it once but there’s no right
answer what are your needs and I will be
able to hopefully maybe point you in the
right direction um I hope the audio is
okay nobody said anything about the
audio
so let’s see good evening jji thanks so
much for being here and Philipe thanks
so much for being my moderator too it is
Monday in the southern hemisphere indeed
Grant hello just joming it’s good to
have you here also awesome um alexie
thanks for being here and um lots of BS
there are there Philip
wow wow just roaming around let’s see
howdy hack KT how you doing I’m just
trying to get to the questions everyone
just just let you know at ninja monkey
um and if I don’t say hi to you but I’ll
say hi to back in the clay
obviously let’s see 5:00 a.m. wow nice
and early dude okay here we go Danny is
here also hey Danny how you doing Cody
has a question ninja monkey planning a
road trip in May from Tokyo to Osaka any
tips about car travel yes even though I
haven’t D I haven’t actually um driven
in Japan I’ve been driven in Japan many
times and I have prepared to drive in
Japan it just never actually worked out
but I think my number one tip for
driving in Japan is to make sure that
you have your International um driver
perit permit before you arrive in Japan
each country has a has a different um or
you know relationship with with Japan so
you’re going to have to check with your
country what permit you need to drive in
Japan so just be aware of that second
thing is if you’re going to be planning
to rent a car in Japan then my
suggestion is that you do try to book or
rent your car in advance I can tell you
that me personally I was supposed to be
having this amazing trip around sadow
Island which had had planned and hyped
on this channel for for some time but
when I got to s island um there were no
cars to rent because I thought that I
could just rent on the day or rent the
day before or whatever and I was very
wrong very very
wrong hey toada how you doing anywhere
on toai line nice nice nice Alexi let’s
see first of all I’ve got a Coke Zero
it’s 10 p.m. here 7 minutes past 10 and
I need a bit of Caffe just to keep me
going I’ve had to start the streams a
little bit later just because of the
time change the summertime or whatever
Springtime
yes so do you need to know how to use
chopsticks when traveling to
Japan um my suggestion is to practice
some Chopstick um skills it wouldn’t I
mean yes I think the answer is yes
really but it also depends Alexi on
where you’re going to be traveling in
Japan if you’re going to be more like
based in
cities you should be more or less okay
they might have some some normal Western
Cy but um generally it’s a good idea to
practice your chop sticks even even if
your your skills aren’t that great think
of it as an opportunity
to actually um go to Japan with Sam
minor skills but come out Japan a pro
because you
will hey hey hey all right any more hey
ding go is in the house how you doing my
friend question this is it guys Well
Done by writing the question before and
atting me because it makes things so
much easier just a reminder that I will
be highlighting those of you who do
Super Chat
um members and anybody who ATS me or
questions me questions
me we are in Japan right now awesome
Crystal awesome what would be a must do
with our 12-year-old son we will be
going to skyre tomorrow um you know what
I’m going to say um Crystal check out
the area of Oda Oda area is going to be
like a a mecca for for a child around 12
years old you’ll be able to find all
sorts of things that are child friendly
in in Oda Island not only is there an
awesome Gundam um statue outside of
divver city which is a shopping complex
but you’ll be able to find small worlds
you’ll be able to
find loads of really interesting fun
things that your child will enjoy
definitely um I will be actually putting
a video together about that so I would
love to know if you do go your feedback
where your think it’s worth going
visiting audio is fine also also this is
just a suay have become um a question
and answer um dying go
basically indoor activities to do in
Tokyo there are so many indoor
activities Maddie that you can do in
Tokyo um you can go to shorten guys
which are like covered streets if you
want shopping um you can go to um
shopping malls you can go to arcades um
like crane games and and video games all
sorts of things things there even
indoor aquariums there’s an aquarium at
the top of sunshine City there’s an
indoor um theme park inside of sunshine
City there’s um VR sort of like um
indoor activities that you can do in
kabucho Tower in
chinuku there is a lot of things that
you can do Indo beer
also where do we find Tokyo banana on
that note I do have a to banana here
which I will be eating during the stream
where you find Tokyo banana very easy in
Tokyo first of all number one and number
two usually in um you can find them in
the in the um in the airport as you’re
leaving but you can also find them in
the major stations um quite
easily let’s
see any more
question yeah um there can be many fees
that associated with trap with car
travel where do I recommend a traveler
starts check out my um my all of my
itinerary videos there’s even a playlist
Trevor which is Japan starter kit I
think it’s called the playlist called
Japan starter kit I highly recommend you
check that one
out any hotels that are cheap that don’t
have to be expensive in Japan what
websites do you recommend where I can
check out cheap hotels I think that
generally if you’re looking for a cheap
hotel then there are various options
that you can go for you can go for
business style hotels which is my
personal preference and my suggestion is
that you just do a little bit of a of
research where you just search for Japan
business hotels and some off the top of
my head some of the ones that I
personally like to to stay at at upper
hotels um Dy ins to toyu um ins um
recently I stayed at a um super hotel
that was pretty good actually so there
are various different um hotels that you
can stay in which are called in a in a
category called a business hotel if you
want to go even cheaper then you might
want to look at hosts and you might want
to find look at capsule hotels although
those might be cheaper but in the long
run it might be worth you paying just
that little bit extra to have your own
bathroom and your own personal space in
my opinion anyway
did it work did it work work Japan
japanish Japan or is it a small q maybe
it’s a small q is it a small
q let’s
see question I brought some Yen du to
rate but I saw yesterday that New Year
notes were coming out in Japan around
June July have you heard anything about
the new notes yes there will be new
notes um coming out around June July
I’ve covered this in in some of my
updates you have nothing to worry about
they will be working alongside the the
older notes in fact there are some
theories or not theories but a lot of
reports of potentially those new notes
coming with their own problems because
some of or many of the um of the vending
machines in Japan will have to be
updated um and there’s even rumors that
those vending machines that will
eventually be updated for the new for
the new year notes actually be updated
to take credit card too let’s see if
that actually
happens let’s see I’m just going for the
questions everyone there’s so many that
I am reading I’m saying hello people hit
the like button yes please yes guys if
you like the the video if you like the
stream it really does help so please do
like that’s quite important I keep on
forgetting and I know that Japan Japan
ban is going to say along the along the
way at one point check out my second
channel the happy guyin I’d like to
reach 1,000 subscribers before my my
next trip I’m at about 98 or something
9910
maybe let’s
see hi Ro evil I’m just going for
questions remember everyone at ninja
monkey or big question before or super
chat ah
Fang you’ll be okay with the Chopstick
then yeah I’ve had I’ve had spaghetti
with Chopstick before it’s kind of fun
and
interesting no problem Crystal I try my
best I try my best question how common
are bag inspections when entering Japan
Customs is very strict in Australia
where I am and I don’t mind going
through the process but i’ like to know
what to expect um I think my bags are
open I’ve been to Japan many times now
and I was say that probably my bag is
checked once every four or five trips so
that will give you an
idea knifey
spoony there you go OA
awesome um ninja monkey how much is
Disney C and is the better to book it
beforehand I don’t know the the prices
of specific theme parks to be honest
just because things change all the time
and I don’t have all that information I
should really have a list of of pricing
but yeah absolutely I think one of the
things that you should come out come out
with from my channel is book in advance
guys Japan is just becoming more crowded
there’s more people visiting Japan more
than ever in fact they they are probably
going to hit the 2025 targets before
2025 at the rate that they’re going and
um and therefore it means as is more de
more Demand with more demand means that
you’re more likely to to miss out if you
don’t book your things beforehand on the
me on the note of um of Disney I just
wanted to announce something quite
important which didn’t make it into my
my update because it literally came out
a few hours after the the update went
went live and that is that Universal
Studios Donkey Kong um area has been
delayed for later this year and it kind
of sucks because I’ve actually planned
my summer trip around that freaking
theme park I’ve actually planned my
itinery around that theme park and I’ve
been holding off going to to um to Mario
since Mario opened because I decided I
wasn’t going to go to Mario until the
Donkey Kong area was open so I could
explore both of them at the same time
and now I won’t be able to well at least
not this
year yeah DC thanks hit the like thank
you star Jen is in the house how you
doing drink for Sergeant everyone if you
are a member show off by choosing your
favorite emoji member only emoji on the
on the chat by the
way Cody question we want to explore on
foot in Kyoto is it a good idea we love
exploring yes absolutely it’s a good
idea just um be strategic about it you
don’t want to overdo it um
get up early do some of the main sites
as early as you can especially for fim
minari um and I would suggest that you
check out for
example kilu is a little bit of a hilly
hilly City so you might actually do well
by planning to get a a cab or a taxi up
to the top of the hilly area and walk
down if that makes any sense instead of
walking up or you can get a
bus banana Twinkie fast track to tape
too
indeed hey yeah you could use my clook
also for
Disney which I keep on forgetting but um
where where where is my cluk thingy Tada
you can use my CL if you want to leave
with it for a little bit of time at
ninja monkey what name is your T-shirt
shop last week need here need to do some
shopping monkey um okay this one I don’t
even know the name of the T-shirt shop
but the shop that I usually go to is
bang on in the middle of had
Harajuku um literally more or less in
the center of Harajuku and there are
some steps that go up sort of like a a
red brick if I remember right um place
and I believe that underneath they do
rainbow cotton candy so those are the
clues I can give
you thank you Japan Japan Jaan for
gifting
thanks for the gifting of the Ninja
monkey um membership to prai
congratulations and actually I might be
able to give
some jji you’re on my
list and what’s this frog lady is also
on my list thank you so much froggy
froggy I hope you don’t mind that I call
you froggy I always call you froggy
I don’t know why but I call you froggy
not frog lady
but and I think you also deserve some
confetti for that much
appreciated do you even have a question
that goes with
that okay let’s
continue any questions question question
question question DC says how would one
identify hor of me on a menu h
that’s a good question I think you’d
have to figure out what the Ki is which
I really don’t know I’m going to be
totally honest um or you can
ask live max hotels are popping up
everywhere I love appers but live max is
20% Less on average as of late nice one
ding go thanks that is an awesome tip by
the
way did the um did the the the thing
work the new thing did it not work I’m
so sorry I don’t know know why jji maybe
I have to set it up
differently actually we agree super
hotel is extremely simple but I think
very good normally I will stay in my
flat or the da royet Hotel I’ve stayed
in the da royet Hotel before
too sorry JJ I have no idea I can’t fix
it now but maybe in the next one does it
work for me that’s a question does it
work for
me does it work for me
[Music]
you cannot use
an I I have no idea what even that means
anyway I have no
idea question Jeff hey leaving on May
the 11 okay you’ve got plenty of time um
went online today and did my
registration and I received a QR code
immediately is that how it works yeah as
long as one your information doesn’t
change so for example your your your um
flight information or your hotel
information doesn’t change you’ll be
good to go and also keep an eye on the
website because even this year the way
they they did the QR code changed and it
became the UN unite unified QR code you
never know with Japan they might change
the way that things happen but obviously
I’ll I’ll report in one an update video
if that does happen
so Gran Bell is cheap and awesome and in
a shady place with which adds yes it is
in a very shady place I have to say I
just have to say about the Gran Bell
hotel that it is a nice hotel it’s very
nice hotel I just thought it was a
little bit out out of the way a little
bit out of the way for exploring
um yeah man if you have old notes don’t
worry about it thanks Japan Japan
Jaan where will I go in Japan this year
my city girlfriend wants to visit
Fukushima ooh well I’m going to be going
to um kushu mainly I’m going to be doing
kushu M um I’m going to do um Ai and I’m
going to do um um
Okinawa I want a GCO GCO Ryman t-shirt
like the one you wear what can I
purchase actually I purchased that
t-shirt in the the t-shirt’s place that
um that um that Jim asked about and it’s
bang on in the middle of um Harajuku the
only thing with Harajuku is that they
they do change their their merch and
they do change sort of their the stuff
so every now and then I go in and I want
a teach and I can’t find it and yeah so
you could
try Zod thank you so much for the gift
Zod TV let me just add you to the list
Alexi awesome Zod
need to find a way to do it that’s a
little bit more
comfortable to be
honest all
right ninja monkey I’m planning to go to
Japan this July yay or other than
completing the application to the Japan
web sorting out Sims and yen is there
anything else I need to do that’s a good
question um obviously if you have your
if you don’t have your hotels then you
should definitely have your hotel um I
don’t believe there’s anything else
specifically other than potentially um
letting your bank know that you’re going
to be traveling to Japan or other than
knowing or other than than that maybe or
even your telephone company if you’re
going to be roaming I can’t think of
anything else oh
yes you might want to check
out nordvpn
future new sponsor by the way next video
you’ll find out in the next
video what what hey wait a minute what’s
this what’s happened
here dying go thank you so much dude let
me just add some firework confetti and
thanks
dying go the
dying GH
is awesome Z is dying dying go let me
just put it and I think we got another
one if you have a question don’t forget
to add it to the question
Tommy
Tommy let’s see what Tommy has to say
let me just add you to the Tommy to the
list Tommy really enjoyed your vids cool
they helped me plan my plann my last
trip in March yay really fun thoughts of
solo traveling in Japan thinking of
doing it next year do it my thoughts are
do it seriously Japan is one of the
easiest places to travel um enjoyed your
vids they helped me plan my last trip in
March awesome I didn’t know there was
going to be a voice coming out but um
yeah basically traveling solo in Japan
is super easy and actually I think the
it’s a great way of seeing a side of
Japan that you might not traditionally
get if you’re traveling with other
people when you’re traveling with other
people sometimes they become your crutch
they become your support and you are
less likely to talk with with locals
you’re less likely to be adventurous
even so when you’re traveling by
yourself you’ll probably find yourself
more likely to to go to iseka talk
somewh talk to somebody or hang out with
somebody that you that you wouldn’t
normally do do um so yeah do it do it
absolutely I actually have a video on um
solo travel you might want to check it’s
a little bit old but it’s still probably
worth checking
out where where are we wait wait a
minute
okay beer
coffee ninja monkey pocket Wi-Fi or
roaming roaming for me is about six or
seven EUR a day um it depends what
you’re going to do and it depends what
you’re roaming
um charge is and how much data you can
roam with personally I would say pocket
Wi-Fi not just because I do have an
affiliate link that you can use that
would help the channel out B oh sorry
bom over here for anybody who’s
interested but just because I know that
Sakura mobile is a good company which
provide a good service and that they’re
reli reliable you know so
yeah right getting to all the questions
very quickly any questions
wine ninja monkey emoji is your
favorite yay bit late going straight for
the questions everyone if there’s
anything in between I’m going to I’m
going to have to um probably not read it
as a
male um any suggestions where to buy
kimono Yukata I’m trying to do some
research but having difficult IAL time I
think you can find you can buy a Yukata
in yanaka Ginza secondhand Yukata very
very cheaply maybe a th maybe a, Yen or
even cheaper secondhand Yukata that’s
what I’ve done yanaka Ginza is a great
place if you want to buy uh a ukata you
can also go to department stores like
for example I know for sure 100% for
certain that um in um Tokyo hands or
maybe it’s now called hands in Shinjuku
the Shinjuku store they have a kumono
area and a Yukata area um for bepoke you
know like um try on if you want to spend
some money you can you can go to to that
that sort of area department stores will
you’ll probably find some um yeah so
obviously more traditional areas like
potentially Asaka will also have
some kimono yucata
things thank you for answering my your
question and all your helpful
videos thank you so much
for your support much
appreciated Grant that’s going to add
you to the list
Grant I’m going to have to make the text
smaller
right ooh is doing a food tour by a
guide beneficial it can be especially if
you’re nervous I think that having going
on a food food tour with a guide can be
beneficial for various reasons number
one if you’re um a nervous traveler or
you’re traveling by yourself and you
want to meet people then that’s a great
way to do to do to meet people number
two if you have allergies or specific
dietary needs then you know contacting a
food T and letting them what your your
needs are is going to be a great way of
not having to worry at least for an
evening or for a day about what you’re
going to eat and eating safely um and
number three it’s also a sure way to
actually have uh some some reservations
made for you so you don’t have to worry
about what you’re going to be eating and
probably you’re going to end up going to
some interesting places
now that being said I I think that it
can be an interesting thing but I also
think that as a Solo Traveler or
somebody traveling in a group or with
friends you can go out and you don’t
need to do a food a food tour especially
after next week’s video hint hint I’m
going to give you another hint about
next next week’s
video if you know you know if you don’t
know you don’t know
okay that could have been the weirdest
thing
ever you can get a a Mobile SIM card to
put inside of your sim of course
yeah sake breweries loads of them
especially in takayama um I I’ve been to
many
there have you ever been to a sweet a
sweet Hotel chocolate in Shibuya no that
sounds amazing though it also sounds
like a love
Hotel no problem Michael
yeah dying G I mean there’s some really
really cool people in here I mean you’re
all cool but there’s some people in here
that travel to Japan even more than me
and and they can really give some great
advice too which is what I love about
these live streams I can answer but
there’s also people here with a lot of
experience that can help out
too yeah check it out check it out
thanks all
right dangle says discovered
on the last day of the week long trip
that my colleagues had zero cash because
I bought everything and did everything
break away and do your own thing do your
own
thing there you go toada has given a
great recommendation also there for for
Yukata
okimono SOA mobile works great as long
as you remember to change S cards when
30 days are up most people aren going to
be in Japan for longer than 30 days you
are you are the the special one that’s
there for longer than 30
days dangle being
dangle Japan Japan Ichi Ban not quite
not quite like I said if you know you
know and you know it’s going to be even
weirder the next I mean this is and I
hope that YouTube doesn’t think that
it’s like a like sensor something like
something weird but I’m going to show
you something even
weirder
cuz next video is going to be base
putley on this guy
here
but I have quite a few of
them that’s
right just a hint there where are
we just a hint just a little tip there
hint I would only eat a comini if you’re
solo Trav you’ll be missing out so much
if you’re only eating in a comini
dude you really don’t
know oh
boy I warn my mate last trip and he kept
thinking I was being too cautious and he
ended up riding the woman’s carriage by
himself he also got in the
train going to maintenance what the heck
what happened there that sounds quite
quite like quite a fun little
Adventure it’s very rich and
yummy that chocolate Sweets Hotel was a
love Hotel they went to in Shibuya okay
see it’s lav hotel but it’s chocolate
and candy seemed
okay um where would you recommend
depends what you want to do I mentioned
this earlier on it just depends on your
activities and your needs if you want a
place that’s really Lively open all the
time but a little bit Dodge than
Shinjuku but a lot of fun if you want
somewhere quieter then you can you can
head to weno um I’ve been I’ve stayed in
ikuro last time it was quite nice and
very well located actually for getting
around Tokyo but it was in a way a
little bit boring once you’ve sort of
see what there is in inudo that’s it
really um but
yeah Cody Cody Cody Cody where’s the
best place to take out money with a
smallest exchange fee Euro to Yen um on
that note it depends on your bank and it
depends on you know like what fees they
have for you personally I use revolute
and with revolute I’ve been able to take
cash cash out from 7-Eleven without any
fees zero fees but the first 3 days of
my trip this last trip it was not
working and I had to go to um to family
M family M was charging me 200 yen for
every every time I took cash out which
sucked really but
hey hey Jim Ross cool thanks
creepy toys teen baby indeed tepen baby
um I don’t want to say too much about
the next video I think it’s going to be
a really useful one I don’t know how
it’s going to how it’s going to perform
YouTube wise but it’s definitely going
to be something that people should in
theory be interested in I will be
telling people about T and baby next
week in my
video but yeah it’s an okonomiyaki
restaurant It’s Magic it’s like magic
it’s
awesome where did they get the headband
thank you um I got this I believe from a
souvenir store nyagi store in
Asaka or maybe even maybe even from
donot who knows
hey just a quick reminder that if you
like and you want to support then please
like to support the video and that I do
have a second channel it’s called um
happy Guin and I do when I’m in Japan I
try to stream on there not on here
really I do stream on here every now and
then but mostly over there and I do put
out some rather casual very very
different style videos on there with
mistakes and no nothing too fancy which
you might like um so yeah
thanks have I ever tried Ashu F on Cafe
I’ve seen them um trending on social
media lately and there some near where I
am staying
in purple
goldfish that was my plan to go to that
place and when I was there in December
but I never got around to it I had so
many other things that I wanted to do
this is the problem with Japan and and
Tokyo is that there’s always so much to
do that even the things on your list
sometimes you just don’t get round to
them I have been to many foot Buffs
though so it wasn’t something that was
high high high up on my
list but it looks very interesting
tation was overwhelming it can be
Shinjuku is even more overwhelming
question Kathleen how are you doing I
was going to book myin can in Tokyo to
Osaka Reserve seat but stopped because
it didn’t let me choose my seat when
will I be able to choose a seat um it
depends where you’re booking from um
sometimes you might not be able to get
your your seat choice now but you’ll be
able to choose your seat when you’re at
the station um basically
Shinjuku was an Awakening I like the way
you’ve put it that’s a great way of
putting it Shinjuku was an
Awakening wow those emo looking girls
were
cute oh you been on a car wash only 31
likes seriously 73 people watching how
many
likes seriously what what you’re
kidding 43 likes 71 people
watching
guys Cody I have tattoos do I have to
hide them even in public no no no no
don’t worry about your tattoos unless
you’re going to a very specific um
location that is that has the two
specific rules you don’t have to hide
them when you’re in
public Jennifer hey Jen I’m going to
Japan for the first time in November
I’ll be in Tokyo Osaka Kyoto and
Hiroshima nice where should I travel to
potentially get a good view of M Fuji I
will be mainly using trains o um you
probably need to be closer to Tokyo to
be honest to get a a view of Fuji but um
November might be a good time to see see
um Fuji and there’s various locations
that are first of all you might be able
to catch it from Tokyo very very early
in the morning especially from an
observation deck maybe second of all you
might want to go to a place like
enoshima um or um Kamakura those two
locations I’ve seen Fuji from in the
distance and that it’s it’s quite
impressive even even from there thirdly
you could go to hakone but hakone is
usually very very very packed but you
can get a really nice view of M Fuji if
yui and my favorite is kawaguchiko um
which is one of the Lakes um where the
the famous p Pagoda is and the famous
images of of Fuji is but you’d have to
do a day trip and you’d want to leave
very early potentially you’d want to
stay the night so that you can get up
nice and early and get that that VI of
of of Fuji early in the morning crisp
and clear hope that
helps oh yeah and Kathleen obviously
Jaan Jaan has a good point that is that
you can actually get the seats um so
that you can choose the thein Canton if
that’s what you were maybe that’s what
you were asking maybe I didn’t I misread
it teen baby
indeed Kathleen Kathleen you’ll be able
to when you get to the station I
believe um
let’s see any more
questions rats in New
Zealand
question do you have any suggestions on
where to buy kimono when in Tokyo I’ve
just answered the question literally um
10 minutes ago but generally you can go
to department stores traditional areas
like asakusa um and off the top of my
head I mentioned yanaka Ginza as being a
place that sells secondhand Yukata that
you might want be interested in and I
know that Tokyo hands or now is called
hands I believe um has a kimono stroke
Yukata area that’s worth checking out
too especially one in Shinjuku I’ve seen
it in
[Music]
Shinjuku I didn’t go to the onon but I
went to the footbath in toyosu you could
check some on my footage on me in the
footbath in my latest
update
uh Maze and the
dungeons um Orlando I think I say this
quite often and that is that I I’m a
firm believer that there is no wrong
time to go to Japan apart from Golden
week but even that is
doable um and I think that the best time
to go to Japan is when you can go to
Japan it’s better to go to Japan than
not to go to Japan at all I I say this
quite often for anybody who’s who who
views me who’s been following me so
therefore is October a good time to go
to Japan yeah if it works for you if you
get a good flight if you get a good
offer um it’s a great time to go to
Japan
ninja monkey ask stores mainly cominis
close over Christmas on New Year cominis
do not close over Christmas on new year
as far as I in fact even in New Year’s
Eve like at 1 or 2 in the morning I was
going to family M so and and um 711 so
the answer is not really
um good morning Stephen how you
doing any thoughts on the digital nor
and Visa has been implemented I think
it’s a very poor um a very poor system I
think that it’s going to be it’s it’s a
little bit odd it’s only 6 months it’s
nonrenewable you be able to to to um to
stack them up to stay any longer 6
months is a short period of time it
won’t give people enough time to
potentially maybe set up a bank account
or even rent proper Wi-Fi or like with a
comp like properly um or set up Wi-Fi in
accommodation that they rent if if
they’re lucky enough to be able to find
a location to to rent um a lot of um
like um estate agents will be reluctant
to rent longterm for 6 months longterm
for 6 months if you only have a Visa for
6 months so that’s going to be a problem
and I know that a lot of people say
share houses are great and they can be
but if the whole point of the of the of
the Visa of the nadic digital Visa is
for you to be able to work digitally on
on online style work you’re going to
need a good internet connection I don’t
know if it’s worth relying on um on like
cafes restaurants hotels and Share House
internet those are my my general
thoughts I think a lot of a lot of
people that can do digital Nomad style
visas can already say in Japan for six
months by literally doing three months
leaving and returning for another three
months um the only difference is that by
having a digital NAD Visa you’re doing
you’re working legally I guess
shenen tickets if it’s a normal time of
the year you can actually just book them
on the day depending on where you’re
going um if it’s a weekend or a public
holiday then I suggest or early in the
morning then I suggest that you book a
day or a few days in
advance what are the rules for people
who smoke you can’t walk when you smoke
in the streets there are smoking
allocated areas everywhere including in
the streets in train station P platforms
hotels um and there are even some hotels
that have smoking rooms and nonsmoking
rooms I think actually even though Japan
has sort of some strict rules it’s quite
easy to to to keep to the rules and to
follow the rules because it’s very clear
where you can smoke and when you can’t
smoke basically and I not smoker by the
way
yeah Japan [ __ ] Japan yes I
agree any more
questions um question DC hey how you
doing DC asks other day trip from Kyoto
would you recommend Hiroshima or Kobe
and why I think I would probably choose
Hiroshima over Kobe personally first of
all to get to Kobe is really really
really easy and probably a half day in K
will be
sufficient personally while Hiroshima I
think especially if you’re going to go
to MIMA Island in Hiroshima is
absolutely worth it um his the history
of Hiroshima the atomic bomb Museum
World War II history and that incredibly
beautiful island with the Tory gate
yeah stay a night in Hiroshima though is
what I would
say I hotels in Japan usually have
slippers and dressing gowns can you tell
me what kind of things I need to pack I
would love to save space so I can bring
back souvenirs Jennifer I’m going to
tell you that I have the most epic
awesome two packing videos on YouTube
about traveling to Japan I am the
packing guy check those two videos out
they’re super comprehensive what you can
what you should what you shouldn’t take
to Japan what you should pack what you
shouldn’t pack it’s all basically it’s
all there in those two videos and
hopefully one of my mods will be able to
to um put both videos there for you in
the
link that’s right is right there are
various and plenty of of areas in jjuku
that are quiet
I was able to rent an apartment for two
months on my CH Visa I think one month
was okay too
interesting everything is booked for
your trip in May I’m worried for the
hotels because we have to pay on arrival
will I be charged extra well depends
where you where you booking through but
I don’t think it should be a problem I
always this trip though I’ve I’ve paid
everything in advance but usually I just
put I just usually pay in in AR on on
arrival as a UK you can go for six
months exactly exactly exactly it’s
weird Tim
hey isatan Japan’s olders department
store actually started as a kimono shop
cool Jim Ross teaching me something
thank you
Jim what is considered a good price for
a flight i’ be flying out of probably
Chicago in November round trip to Tokyo
I really don’t know um what would be
considered a good price I’m from Europe
um
unfortunately I suggest that you set a
Tracker up and look at the history of
what the price pricing is like for the
next few months to get an idea
I agree um dang this one I’m totally
dangle is on his way to Europe
awesome how many days would you stay in
fuka kushu as a first time visitor um I
think you could seriously spend two
weeks in in um in kushu taking it easy
and exploring especially if you go to
places like yakushima and if you want to
like actually explore the island of
kushu it’s a pretty awesome place I mean
probably um fuka one night with two days
on either side maybe two nights Max but
then there’s loads of things that you
can do like Nagasaki is I was really
Blown Away by Nagasaki I like Nagasaki I
spend the night in unen onen which is
Nagasaki which is one of my favorite
Onsen sort of hot spring hell sort of
like locations that I’ve been to um I
really like that then Kumamoto that’s
one place that’s worth checking out
kagoshima is an awesome place to work
out um check out yakushima yakushima SP
spend two or three nights there because
the island is just wonderful um so as
you can see the days just start adding
up easy
you always
complain thank you
ja
um okay that’s a a really actually a
really good question Stephen because
it’s a sort of a difficult one to
explain there are some hotels
where they have outdoor slippers which
you can take especially in onen towns
like for example in
shikoku um there’s an onen in
Matsuyama that um do Dogo Dojo Dogo onen
I think it’s Dogo onen and I stayed in
that sort of Onsen area my hotel which
was an onen basically um had some UK
catas that you could that you were
actually encouraged to to go out into
the into the street with and um with a
little um like bag with a towel and
stuff including some outdoor slippers
but there were there are a lot of um
hotels and the majority of hotels where
you’ll be encouraged to use the the
pajamas or the ukata um and the slippers
if you’re going to be lounging in the
hotel or maybe going for breakfast or
maybe even dinner or going to to the hot
spring that sort of thing but not
generally going out I hope that makes
sense the Japanese prime minister
seriously what say
hi
please Google flights can be quite good
to to check also Expedia has a great a
great um tracking
option in my first to hirosima 996
kimonos from the soo department store
old rentals there was a year and sale to
clear out the old Styles
cool hey thank you
Kathleen much
appreciated let’s get
some confetti
let me add your name to the
list and let’s let’s just make these a
little bit smaller because um so that we
can at least there we
go domo domo
domo Skys scanner can be
good lots of tools out there
going to smack someone with my ring hand
I never noticed you with a ring by the
way oh I’ve got to send you a video I’m
after the stream I’m going to send you a
really nice video you’ll see why dangle
I was looking through my phone and I and
I found a video of a very pretty
Japanese girl pouring pouring some
beer beu C beu for Hot Springs
I’m going to be going to beo this time
around I’ve never
been recommendations if you want to go
to Universal studiio of Disneyland Japan
and Special Ed I would 100% say is book
your your stuff in advance um
unless you want to I don’t want to use
the word waste time but I think that if
you’re going to go to a f Park once it’s
just pay just pay the money save up a
little bit and pay the money for those
fast
tracks Dogo onen that’s it Dogo
onen literally just making my final
bookings for weekend Kushi kushu cushi
cushi cushi kushu was was listening um
yakushima for nights Kumamoto asso um
you you fing and flying back from Tokyo
from fuka nice sounds like a really good
tra really good um plan yakushima is is
fantastic I swear it’s one of my
favorite places in in
Japan from Yokohama to to um to Tokyo
there’s various um train lines including
the shinkansen that you could get by the
way if you really want to be quick
Stevie hey thank you so much thanks for
continuing to create such engaging and
honest content Nathan than Stevie thank
you so much
for your awesome donation I
got um yeah I think I honestly think it
makes me very happy that I can help
people and and um if my videos are
helping people and they can be more
secure in the trips and the travels then
I’m I’m my job is done and obviously all
of these super fs and donations and all
that they just help me get back to Japan
so that I can make more content so that
I can help more people if that makes any
sense um
so this next trip I will be staying in a
variety of different hotels um some from
from cheap to to rather expensive luxury
hopefully for a video idea that I have
so this really comes in
handy like I thought it would be cool to
do a a cheap to super expensive hotel
sort of
video covering some of the main style of
hotels in
Japan hi thanks for all the helpful
advice going to Japan in August and
we’ll spend a couple of days in chba
City any highlights for chba City I
don’t I’m I’m I’m sorry I actually
haven’t stayed in sheiba city so I won’t
be able to give you any any specific
highlights
there yeah ukata is a great souvenir I
have various yukatas I’ve shown them off
before I’m hoping to meet with the owner
of IM imabari towels in October they are
famous for Japanese towels and
loungewear if I manag to sort something
maybe you want to meet him too I would
love to except for I won’t be there
until the very very very end of October
um and everything is going to be so so
so that that it’s only a week and I
probably we’ll see we’ll see from now
till October a th000 things can happen
you
know send now I’ll send it in a moment
I’ll send it in a moment I
prise do I even have my where is my
phone I don’t even know where my phone
is I’ve left my phone somewhere else in
in the other room so I cannot even send
it
now I could spend a week in be alone not
to mention Kumamoto would take another
week exactly frog lady I love kushu I
absolutely love
kushu beu has one of the three oldest on
sense in Japan I’ve been
um
um Lads gathering in May can host an
organize in Tokyo if people are game I
won’t be able to go in May but I’ll
probably be able to go in April again
and probably will be going in October
and again for for New Year’s we’ll see
um next time I’m considering shortening
my trip and not making it so long my
parents are getting older and I’m
starting to feel a little bit like being
away for so
long what is my experience of speaking
English in Japan I hope I can be brave
enough to try some basic Japanese but
I’ll probably need English in most
situations check out my my late well
last week I said I put out a video on um
Japanese for tourists very helpful I
think check it out
Pastor my next trip to Japan is on the N
9th of July about 10 weeks or something
to go and I’ll be in Japan for just
about just over 6 weeks in total it’s
going to it’s that’s my long trip my
long trip to Japan so yeah I can’t
believe it um just got back two weeks
ago and already counting the days to
return like everyone on this that
follows this channel hey hey hey hey
wait a minute my my laptop isn’t plugged
in now it
is let’s see any questions by the
way always love getting together with
dangle hopefully you can make it down to
jolto one
day yeah sometimes it’s worth getting a
um
flight is speaking bad Japanese in Japan
appreciated for at least trying or I
don’t think anybody will laugh at you um
absolutely no and I think it will be
appreciated that you’re trying
absolutely they they will appreciate it
let’s
see dangle literally is in Tokyo every
month monthly ninja monkey get together
without ninja monkey ninja mon can
probably make it every other month more
or less every time I come back from
kushu I realize that it’s still so much
more I didn’t get to see and do which is
why I’m actually returning to kushu this
will be my my second kushu trip um
finishing off some the things that I was
unable to do in my last trip a few years
back rilled Machi in Tokyo good
question um I know you can get Sam Sam
um kushy M
Moi my trip plans are still up in the
air I have no idea where I’m going be
adventurous dude
I’m curious o have you been to sha preit
CH it was very traditional to me um have
I been to sha prefecture I believe I
have bad Japanese is
Yu how is it can you explain how the Jr
pass is worth it if you’re staying
longer than 3 weeks I’d love to know by
the way way just out of curiosity
because it sounds to me like the longer
that you stay the less worth it the pass
is oh I can imagine looking you looking
Asian but not speaking Japanese might be
a struggle I can I can totally imagine
that
Tommy I am an insulin dependent diabetic
is there an issue with bringing insulin
and syringes into the country you’d have
to check directly with the ministry of
um of um of Health I don’t think there
should be a problem um and I don’t know
what the what the policies are for
flying with syringes and needles in
generally um so that’s something that
you’d have to unfortunately research
yourself but there there will be a way
there’s thousands and thousands of
people that are diabetic take the travel
to Japan you know
so um purple goldfish it depends the
flying versus the shansen a it depends
on where you’re flying to and where
you’re flying from and B being a
domestic flight means that generally you
can arrive at the at the airport much
much later data um to board your plane
and it also means that you can with a
little bit of preparation you can
actually send your luggage in advance
and not have to even even check in any
luggage which which is beneficial and
makes things even
quicker um can we buy a JR Regional pass
whilst we’re in Japan no need to buy it
before it depends on the regional pass
unfortunately are some Regional pastes
that need to be um that
need to be posted to you so it depends
I’ve mentioned cluk just because cluk
actually does have a very very very
comprehensive um list of of information
to do with JR passes and Regional passes
they the way that they they put the
information together is very very handy
and makes it very very clear um by
telling you whether or not you’ll get a
digital pass or whether or not you’ll
get a pass that needs to be mailed to
you so you might want to check the
website just for
that Jr pass over even long a trip just
doesn’t stuck up Sly that’s what I
that’s I mean I’ve done a lot of my
research so I’m doing a 4we trip later
this year and pin balling all over the
place on trains but still now individual
tickets works out cheaper mostly I think
the the the the main sort of rule for
the Jr pass is that you need to travel
every day or every other day for it to
to work out so um you stay in in Kyoto
for one night the following night you
need to travel to the next destination
and move and move and move and move and
move unfortunately unless it’s a very
very long distance thing if it’s a super
longdistance train then you might get
away with staying somewhere for two
nights if that makes any sense
so
o something just came up and I don’t
know what it
was what was that thing that came up a
minute ago was it a donation or a Super
Chat because it hasn’t come up for
me when you in yam yamama tour transport
how many days in advance do you need to
fill out the forms or can I make all my
bookings when I arrive to Japan at once
usually I I use it as and when I need if
that makes any sense rather than
everything all at the same time
I’m pretty sure I’ve just received a
super chat or something but it hasn’t
appeared so I don’t know was it maybe I
don’t know guys maybe it was a um uh a
PayPal and if it was a
PayPal let’s see maybe I’ve got an
email not that I can see I don’t think
it’s a paper
anyway sorry guys if anybody sent me
something because it came up a minute
ago I don’t know what on Earth it
was there was a super chat from Stevie
West but it hasn’t appeared for
me
it yeah that one I’ve already spoke I
already mentioned thanks for continu
continuing I didn’t have it
here Stevie Steve
see but there was something else I just
saw pop up and it’s literally
disappeared I
haven’t you said a PayPal near the start
of the stream I haven’t seen it either
but I’ve left my phone somewhere so I
have to check it so add got let add Jim
because Jim has donated via um PayPal so
thank you so much Jim for that and let
let’s add some um confetti
anyway if I get pocket Wi-Fi will I need
to pick it up somewhere or will it be
posted in advance it’s your choice
personally I do recommend that you get
it posted to your first hotel just so
that you don’t have to que up at the
hotel or worry about it um and secondly
second ofely second ofly what the hell
am I saying second of all you might want
to even consider an eim if you have an e
cap capable um phone you can start the
trip
with with internet connectivity which is
pretty
cool hey pton how was
it take care man D I’m going to send you
I need to send you the thing you’ll have
to get it at some point
yeah star genen I I already went through
that one but there was a long one I saw
like loads of writing that’s a thing and
I I have no idea what it
was I have no idea so I do apologize I
tried to but did not see any fancy
effect um Lord mcgrey as when others do
maybe it’s I’m too tired to do it
correctly and you probably have
um two donos now well if you did ad M
and
um Lord MC gray I have no idea what
happened there maybe maybe I can figure
it out
maybe let’s see if I can figure out if I
can because it did appear sort
of if I
rewind it did appear at some point I saw
something up on the on the screen but
but I didn’t
see oh there $53 free yeah it says I
can’t chat on YouTube although
subscribed and sent you messages about
it on Facebook thanks for your great new
style videos I really love them I just
brought
300,000 yen in preparation for my next
Japan trip in 2025 for Star Wars
celebrations Lord mcrey I don’t know why
on a when wait a minute but you can chat
on YouTube no because you’ve just you’ve
just mentioned you’ve just you’ve just
um commented so that means that you can
but I don’t know why it didn’t pop up on
my list of things but let me just add
you load
load
Lord Mark
gr thank you let me just
um make it what
done awesome thanks dude
I it didn’t pop up but at least I was
able to read it out so much
appreciated uh yeah that’s so annoying
when your service providers lock your
that’s something that you need to check
if you’re going to purchase an
eim Al is really nice um tohoku is
really
nice yeah
it was an amazing trip that’s what I
like to hear any favorites any specific
thing I’m going to end the stream
soonish so I’d love to know your top
five things from your trip you just come
back it’s
fresh you can collect to the airport
obviously I sent them through PayPal Ah
that’s probably why okay so that’s why
why it’s it’s appeared on it appeared
but it didn’t appear on the on the list
thingy okay that makes sense I
appreciate Doug up
says do you think one day at kinsen onen
and yera Temple is enough I’m solo and
celebrating my six year hey happy
birthday dude in ginen onon staying at a
home stay um 40 minutes away um I think
two things number one yamad
Temple takes its sweet time to get to
the top um and it also depends how long
it’s going to take for you to travel to
yadera Temple I did yamadera Temple in
in the summer from um Sendai it took me
about an hour or so to get from Sendai
to the sort of the base of yamadera and
then it took another hour or so to get
to the top and then you know exploring
Etc so it’s going to take you four or 5
hours in total to do to do yadera
realistically especially you want to
like enjoy it and stop and and that sort
of thing ginen I’m yet to do believe it
or not but I’m guessing that ginsen will
be the same thing and I probably um
think that ginsen is the sort of place
that you want to spend a night and spend
the night at if you can
favorite prefecture that I have traveled
to visited so far I think I have two
favorites it’s a it’s kind of hard but I
really really like um the very North and
the Very South so I do like the area of
tohoku um moroka was pretty nice I have
to say Akita was really nice and then
the very very very south I really liked
kagoshima and Nagasaki so I guess k
or kaido maybe very difficult to answer
that
question guys I will be ending the
stream now um just wanted to say a big
thank you to everybody who supported me
um during the stream so we got Japan ja
panich ban awesome for the memberships
froggy Zod TV dying go awesome Tommy
Grant Kathleen Stevie J
and Lord M great and thank you so much
um I hope that these stre streams are
useful and interesting and I I do
recommend and I highly I highly
recommend that you check out my backlog
of videos um it’s always worth checking
out especially if you’re traveling to
Japan check out my packing videos my um
Japan starter tip um starter kit videos
and you might also want to check out my
less visited or less crowded Japan um
playlist there’s quite a few
different there’s quite a few different
um playlists that you can actually check
out that might be of use that are not
specifically like news related including
my latest video from last week which is
um Japanese for tourists which
surprisingly is doing okay right now so
yeah it’s always fun to do these streams
I really do enjoy answering and I also
love um interacting with everybody in
the chat and I really appreciate the
help that you also give me by answering
some of the questions that I can’t
answer or giving the additional
information that I don’t specifically
have at hand so I do appreciate that and
once again thank you so
much to my awesome moderators who are
always there helping me out um making
sure that everything goes smoothly I

  1. Is there already a tourist/visitor tax in Osaka? I had to pay 700円 during my check-in. Hopefully II did not get ripped off. At least the hotel is nice. Center of Dotonbori + heated toilet seats

  2. Thanks for the helpful video and helpful regulars in the audience. For what it is worth, I would like to remind first time visitors to have a small plastic bag on them to collect their wrappers and other trash while out and then dispose of it at their hotel. There are almost no trash cans and littering rightfully can generate a fine and Japan is very clean. For trip planning two things: start with watching several do's and don't videos to get a sense of the culture and please at least try to meet the Japanese half way. Japan fits almost half the US population in a space the size of California and Oregon so there are reasons why orderliness and not bothering others makes it all work. Secondly, remember Tokyo is the size of an entire galaxy compared to many other cities so learning what places and activities may interest you will take some homework in addition to looking for things you already like at home or what part of Tokyo to stay in. Hotel location is largely about travel time to other areas and what local atmosphere you want. Lastly, I wouldn't overly stress about shinkansen tickets unless something really hinges on getting one at a certain time on a certain day. If you are changing cities, most places (with the exception of going from Tokyo to Sapporo) are only two hours or so apart and multiple trains run daily…in some cases hourly or more so. I'm sure this also depends on time of year and busy local holidays.

  3. i am in japan right now and have to say the small amount of basic japanese i learnt has very much come in handy ive used it loads and its really helped me…..ive even made two friends by talking to strangers, we are going to stay in touch on social media, and i have talked to loads and loads of strangers the japenese love helping, many times they dont just give you advice or directions they actuallly go out of their way to take you to where it would help you, even as much as half hr out of their way its incredible how lovely most of the people in japan are

  4. I will be staying in tokyo for two week but will be doing some day trips. Im open to paying for a hotel in other cities to stay overnight if need be rather than rush back to Tokyo. Are hotels generally available or would i need to book? Places such as Osaka and Kyoto etc.

  5. My brother and I are planning to meet in haneda for our japan trip. I arrive at 4pm and He arrives at 9pm, I will be getting a pocket wifi for both of us. Do you think that is enough time (for my brother arriving at 9pm) to get thru customs/get an ic card and take the train to shinjuku where we are staying? I know its cutting it close but wondering if he will have enough time. Thanks
