Naha, Okinawa – Japan. In this Okinawa travel vlog, we are visiting American Village in Okinawa. We take a bus from Naha to American village, and then go on a walk in the village (Does it look like America? Not really).

village yes the American village in
Japan on a tropical island oh what a
nice car here is the thing there are
lots of Americans living in okav and all
because the biggest American Military
presence in the east in Asia is here in
okav and that’s why as I have heard I’m
not sure if it’s even true they have
built this place here for these
Americans so they can find a little bit
of home feeling there in the foreign
lands of Japan it’s 9 Minutes 9 minutes
it’s a direct bus yeah direct bus
from Naka main bus station to the
American village let’s see if the
village looks like a village I’m still
hoping to see a village there remember
seem like we saw a village found a
village on an island of cop in
Thailand wa it turned out to be a luxury
resort named something Village let’s go
to the left side let’s not disrupt
the traffic here in the orderly country

Japan amazing country
unbelievable what do you think bus is

bus no idea how you pay for a bus here
byy cash or with a bank card or you buy
a transport card we’ll have to figure it
out very very very very very fast

okay here go goes goes our bus this was
an interesting experience until the very
last moment we didn’t know how do you
pay for the bus but at the bus station
at the bus stop
I asked the
man how do you like is Cash okay I was
showing him cash and showing to the bus
number and uh like asking is this okay
or do I need a card you get on the bus
take a small ticket on the ticket there
is a number and then you sit and wait
until your stop and before getting off
you will look at the screen and look
like if your ticket number says one like
in our case you will see how people who
have a ticket with number one pay like
this shows like how far have you gone if
your ticket is showing one you pay I
don’t know 700 if your ticket is showing
five you pay maybe
300 we paid
6 670 I think yeah we paid

each for this almost 1 hour long
drive not
cheap not too expensive but the
experience was very very interesting I
had never seen a ticketing system like
this it seems like Japanese like to have
rules like to use paper like to use
mechanical tools
look this is what it’s like here on the
outskirts of MAA or maybe it’s already a
different town and the American
villages somewhere ahead of
us I was very surprised to see how
orderly they operate the bus when the
bus stops at a bus stop first people are
getting off slowly without rushing
anywhere paying their
for uh if you have a card you can also
pay with the transport card if you have
cash you pay with cash and only then
people are getting on the
bus nice that’s nice hey and this is
also nice tto shop tto shop in
Japan something for
$30
$30 cheap
at
tattoo maybe like three
dots uh or a
line why I’m saying that it’s strange to
see a tattoo parlor is that in Japan
tattoos are often not allowed to be
shown in the public for example today we
were at the gym and there were rules
like like a cover up your
tattoos yeah yeah and we we actually
knew it before came to the gym that uh
there there is this this possibility
that we will need to cover up so we
repared repared long sleeves long socks
oh there’s an ABC Mart as well I think
this is where the village is but this is
a Shopping Center yeah the village
probably is behind it luckily we don’t
have tattoos on our faces oh that could
be very that would be very um
problematic because it’s not only gyms
where they prohibit you to go if you
have tattoos it’s also temples as I have
heard Public bathouses public Hot
Springs what else some beaches some
Beaches they say that Resorts pools yeah
yeah yeah yeah they say that in Okinawa
these rules are more relaxed it’s a
different or slightly different culture
here but in the rest of Japan tattoos
can cause you problems take that into
account do not think your face American
village what do I know about American
village it’s not a village that’s the
thing and I know that it’s here right in
front of us and that’s it and on the map
it says Google map that it’s a touristic
attraction that’s it

America Mr SpongeBob I know but he’s
from bikini bottom but where is Bikini

America I have a feeling that American
food here is not very popular this is
Japanese food and this is American food
no one okay to gets eating American

try I actually tried a tiny bit
already and
um yeah yeah it tastes like the best $1
pizzas that we had in New York like $1 a
slice but only here it’s somewhat like
$4 a
slice and I’m going to say that it’s
also better this
one it’s very good oh wait I need to
take one photo for my Instagram
followers also looks good I
think this looks like a beautiful beach
even on such a cloudy day look look at
the water at the color of
water
just like at
the
best Tropical
Islands this makes me
very hey the water is beautiful even
though it’s like cloudy yeah yeah but
it’s still pretty and I’m excited about
the Sunny Days that’s ahead of us
hopefully very very soon and when we are
going to check out some of okinawa’s
beaches and some nearby Islands most
likely
too let’s go and check out the water
temperature here in okav
in
late March let’s
trve
oh not hot but um most likely also not
too bad I’m guessing it’s plus 20 cels
plus 18 plus maybe
22 crazy Cod for me but
not cold for
some thanks to the water
temperature OK is considered a year
round destination for
swimming if you are used to these
temperatures if you are not a Thailand
person like we
are well very
beautiful well what can I say to you
it’s not hot maybe plus 20 maybe plus 20
maybe 18 okay that’s not too
bad it’s like in Turkey in spring or
that was pretty Georgia oh that was
pretty good for like a short fast deep
I’m going to try one day
definitely but may be on a more sunny
day now let’s go back to the American
village this whole
area I believe is the American village
it’s very
colorful well actually here by the Sea
we are by the Sea right now here at this
part of the village I like it
more it’s uh it’s nice it’s peaceful
interesting quiet places where to stop
and have a meal only thing I’m surprised
about actually there are two things it’s
not very busy even though it’s a weekend
right now and there seems to be not that
many Americans or actually any
westerners it seems like this is a place
where people of walking now maybe people
from Japan come
and get the feel of American Life right
it’s yeah it looks like it doesn’t feel
like a place for Americans to come
for
American village
