Sakura season in Japan is a magical time to be here. And while Tokyo has amazing places to see cherry blossoms, we wanted to see some places a little outside of the city in the neighbouring prefectures of Saitama and Gunma. Here are 4 amazing locations to visit if you’re up for a day trip out of Tokyo!

This video was taken at the beginning of April 2024, so please check your sakura forecasts next year! These locations bloom at different times as shown in the video so plan accordingly!

welcome back to the channel everyone
today we are on a road trip looking for
Sakura North of Tokyo in the prefectures
of GMA and saitama right now we’re
actually at one of the locations called
akagi South Simon zakra we’re checking
out some of the festivals around here
and also the flowers as you can see
right behind me the canola flowers are
blooming and some of the sakura trees in
the back and we’re going to go to
different locations as well over the
course of the video so come along
[Music]
so we’re here at a weird time because
some of the trees are fully blossoming
and some of them aren’t so you get trees
like the one behind me that’s
essentially fully blossomed but then the
ones over here that are essentially bare
and just about to Bud so trying to find
a place that has nice full cherry
blossoms to take photos of right now
trying to get some good food I really
like how this tree on the right is pink
and the one on the left is a little bit
more white and kind of how they meet
here in the middle so I’m going to see
if I can get a photo that kind of shows
the different colors and also just them
meeting right here that’s really nice
[Music]
so we are now at rako mayi Park which is
a park in the center of May Bashi which
is the capital of GMA and we are here
because there is a really nice shot of
sakur over a bridge and there’s also a
really nice Festival going on uh in a
very beautiful Park so let’s we’re going
to walk through try to find that photo
and see what we can get so there’s the
shot that you can get uh on the third
Bridge all the way at the back of the
park and it just goes all the way along
and you kind of and see all the
beautiful cherry
[Music]
blossoms there is a benefit to coming
here so late in the day which is the
lanterns that they have hung up in the
sakura tree it makes for a really
beautiful photo yeah so the Tre blossoms
are still luminated by these bright
white lights so you can still see them
and that’s a really cool experience to
see it in the night time when it’s lit
up like this versus in the daytime so
definitely recommend if you get a chance
to go somewhere that illuminates aakra
it’s a really really beautiful view

so we just got to our hostel we’re
staying at a place called mat toy hostel
and Bar in my Bashi it is a great place
it’s super new the staff are really nice
we get a free drink ticket when you get
here and then we rented out this whole
room of four beds for
15,600 Yen which translate to around 150
Canadian which is really great for four
people coming up to around $45 $50 so it
is a great option if you are traveling
with four other friends or even if you
just booked out the whole room and there
was like one or two of you I mean it’s
cheaper than hotel room and you get your
own kitchen and a whole common area to
meet other
[Music]
people welcome to day two of the road
trip we are in front of me Bagels right
now grabbing breakfast and we’re going
to be heading out for more sakur hunting
[Music]
welcome to Tuda River Park which is
famous for all those carb streamers or
coal B which are behind me this is
really special because there’s a
festival going on right now celebrating
all the Sakura blossoming it’s just such
a unique scene to be able to see both of
the cherry blossoms and the car
streamers together
[Music]
he
[Music]
welcome to gendo in saama prefect this
is a huge huge Park full of these canola
flowers and the Sakura blossoms just
stretching as far as the eye can see it
is such a gorgeous Park to come to we
are really lucky to make it in it it was
a battle to get through the traffic and
for good reason this is definitely going
to be the highlight of the road trip for
us so we’re going to explore around get
some shots but it won’t be hard
considering just how beautiful this
place is I can’t I can’t stop saying
that
[Music]
a
[Music]
[Music]
recommend this
park I think it’s my favorite yeah me
too it’s just really unique I mean just
it’s also big and not and I guess it was
also one of the few that were like fully
fully fully fully blooming so yeah lucky
to get here at the perfect time it is
really crowded though so hopefully you
get here on a weekday or early so I got
LC to walk down those stairs right here
because the light is hitting this spot
specifically and highlighting her I hope
I got a good shot of her
[Music]
[Music]
so it’s starting to get late so we’re
going to make our way back to Tokyo now
I hope these four locations through
saama and gunma were interesting to you
and maybe got you interested in making a
day trip out to these locations if
you’re here for in time for sakur season
I think gong gendo is definitely our
highlight for this trip it’s just so big
and beautiful so yeah thanks again for
coming along we’ll will catch you again
next time please like comment and
subscribe
[Music]
bye so welcome to gendo in saama park uh

canola seed flowers everywhere I cannot
believe this is a real place um yeah and
the sakur Blossom’s blooming this is an
awesome awesome Festival to come to and
I’m standing out here in a field very
far away from the
camera because I think this is funny
so come through
