Confused after trying Seafood ramen for 1st time


What is this black colored ingredient used in seafood ramen? Btw it is kinda chewy , almost like white squid rings.
& One more thing, would the broth taste garlicky? Idk but i felt a bit pungent garlicky flavour along with the umami flavour.

    It looks like some version of clam/shellfish. What you ate looks like seafood pasta; not ramen. What do you mean by umami? I don’t think you know what the word means.
