|PATH OF PHILOSOPHY| Journey through Kyoto’s famous Cherry Blossom road🌸 Full Bloom 4th Apr 2024

The Path of Philosophy (哲学の道, Tetsugaku no Michi) in Kyoto is a picturesque walking path that follows a canal lined with cherry trees, offering a serene and contemplative atmosphere. It’s named after the Japanese philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who is said to have used this path for daily meditation.

The path stretches approximately two kilometers along the eastern foothills of Kyoto, connecting the Ginkakuji Temple (Silver Pavilion) in the north to the Nanzenji Temple area in the south. Along the way, you’ll pass through residential neighborhoods, temples, and lush greenery, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike to stroll, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty.

The Path of Philosophy is especially famous during the cherry blossom season (late March to early April) when the cherry trees along the canal bloom, creating a stunning tunnel of pink blossoms. Many people visit during this time to experience hanami (flower viewing) and capture the beauty of the cherry blossoms.

Overall, the Path of Philosophy offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature and reflect on life’s deeper questions, just like the philosophers who once walked this path.
