Hello. As you can see from the sign “FUKUOKA”, this is the pick-up deck on the 4th floor of Fukuoka Airport. I didn’t fly there because I like watching planes take off and land, but I came. This is in front of JR Kokura Station, about 60 kilometers away from Fukuoka Airport.

This time, I would like to return by boat to Yokosuka Ferry Terminal, which takes about 21 hours on the Tokyo Kyushu Ferry. A free shuttle bus will take you to Shin-Moji Ferry Terminal. I could see the ferry I was about to board. This is the “Hamayuu” we will be boarding this time.

It’s this big. It is said to have a total length of 222.5 meters. In addition to this “Hamayu”, there is also a ship called “Soreiyu”. Click here for the location of Tokyo Kyushu Ferry’s Shin-Moji Ferry Terminal. Passengers are waiting in the waiting area on the second floor of the terminal.

There are probably more people arriving by truck or private car than by foot. Fares and charges vary depending on the period, room charge, size of car, etc. Even so, the inside of the Shin-Moji Ferry Terminal has only been open for about two years, so it is very clean and spacious.

You will be notified of the start of boarding, so let’s get on board. It is a very new ship as it is scheduled to enter service in 2021. After a short walk, the staff kindly showed us the location of our guest room.

So, instead of going to bed for the night, I decided to watch it from this deck until it departed from Shinmoji. Passenger cars also line up one by one to board the ship in order. “K” funnel mark. A ship’s chimney is called a funnel.

The “hawser” is removed from the bit (mooring post) on the quay and we set sail. A large ferry slowly moves away from the quay. It’s amazing power. We leave the empty ferry terminal and bid farewell to Kyushu for a while.

We left Shinmoji at 23:55 on time, the date changed, and we packed up our things and prepared for bed. This time it is a reasonably priced “Tourist A” type of room. Although the rooms are shared, a private space is secured with roll curtains. I appreciate that there are towels.

This is 12,000 yen. The price for period B during the year-end and New Year holidays is 18,000 yen, but since traveling from Kyushu to Kanto is both cheap and comfortable, we will continue to use it. The sheets are also clean. Luggage shelf with enough space to store your luggage and clothes.

It’s like an air conditioner outlet, but I don’t know much about it, so don’t touch it any further. There are also hooks for hanging clothes etc. This handrail is surprisingly convenient when getting up. The bed lamp is also brightly lit. There are also electrical outlets and USB outlets.

This storage space is surprisingly deep. However, although there is something that looks like a keyhole, it cannot be locked. There is a space next to the corner room where life jackets like this are stored.

As long as you don’t put anything heavy on top of it, you can put things like bags on it. There is also space under the shelf. I put my luggage and food under the shelf. Slippers are sold separately. I bought it at the shop on the ship.

I’m planning on doing a digital detox on the ferry, but I end up having to register for WIFI. However, the communication speed is the tortoise and the hare. I couldn’t even connect to the internet, let alone the turtle. It’s morning. The weather tends to be cloudy. That’s quite a cruising speed.

For breakfast, there was a choice of Japanese or Western food, but I wasn’t in the mood for Japanese food, so I opted for Western food. There were also porridge sets and morning curry sets. Western-style plate set 1,000 yen

There’s nothing special to do, so I just watched the downloaded Prime Video to kill time, and how to spend it varies from person to person. Now, let’s take a look at the encounter with the sister ship “Soreiyu”. The encounter between ships at sea is said to be grand and graceful.

When I went to the deck, there was a strong wind and it was difficult, but “Soreiyu” passed through. The wind was so strong that I couldn’t hear the ship’s whistle. The current location is off the coast of Wakayama Prefecture. It is around Cape Shionomisaki, the southernmost tip of Honshu.

What is that “K” ferry? I don’t have time to just laze around, so I take a walk around the ship. The interior is beautiful as it is a brand new ferry. It’s like being in a hotel. A small monster was rampaging in the kids room. The interior is also beautiful and stylish.

This is a touch-type onboard information panel. This is a forward salon. Eating and drinking are prohibited. Perfect for relaxing and reading. The curtains on the windows are closed at night to prevent navigation, but they are open during the day so you can see the ocean. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing time.

Hamayu goods such as T-shirts, backpacks, and towels can be purchased at the shop. This “Screen Room Starry Sky” has planetarium screenings. It seems that the planetarium and the movie will be shown twice each. Halloween decorations were seasonal.

There are both indoor and outdoor baths, so bathing while looking out at the ocean is the best. It’s easy to get a lack of exercise when you’re on a ship, so having a sports room like this is a blessing.

The fitness equipment is also the latest. I didn’t use it. I’m just walking around. I went out to the deck. It’s windy and cloudy, but it’s neither hot nor cold and refreshing. I spend my time walking around the deck like this, but I tend to get bored if I can’t use the internet.

It seems that you can rent Othello, Go, Shogi, etc. for 100 yen per hour. There is a barbecue garden below this. The sports room has two treadmills and three cordless bikes. The bright, three-story atrium entrance doesn’t give you the impression that you’re inside a ferry.

Hamayuu has a shop and an amusement room on the 4th floor. There is a barbecue garden and restaurant on the 5th floor. The 6th floor has a large bath, gym, and screen room.

This is an amuse box. Looks like you can do karaoke. It’s a good way to relieve your daily stress for 1,000 yen per hour. It looks like you can go to the vehicle deck from here. However, entry is prohibited during the voyage.

This is Dockfield. It seems that it can be used from 8 a.m. until sunset. It is long, with a total length of 222.5 meters. Good for walking. This is the disembarkation gate. From here, disembark at Yokosuka Ferry Terminal. As you just announced, the chair in the screen room was called a “yogibo.”

Hamayu is sailing off the coast of Mie Prefecture. There is a smoking room on the left and a locker for valuables on the right. You can check the business hours of each ship facility on the list like this.

Beyond this door is the area where the driver’s private room is located, so the general public is not allowed to enter. You can check the timetables for each transportation facility at your disembarkation destination here. You can enjoy onboard barbecue in the barbecue garden. I think the barbeque on the ship is also special.

The name “Hamayu” comes from the flower of Yokosuka City, the Hamayu. This is a type of room called Tourist S. This is a room that is one rank higher than Tourist A, which I am using. Multi-purpose toilet and bathroom. Barrier-free facilities are also available. The restrooms are also clean –

There is a coin laundry inside the restrooms. The deck was closed due to strong winds. I was hungry after skipping lunch, so I ordered dinner. Tokyo Kyushu Ferry’s original beef stew set. (1,600 yen) I wanted to eat by the window.

This is a shop. You can purchase daily necessities, drinks, snacks, and original goods needed on board. There are a wide variety of goods. We will soon arrive at Yokosuka Ferry Terminal, but unfortunately it looks like it’s going to rain.

As a side note, I met a person from Yokosuka the other day, and he said he was working hard to attract a ferry service to Yokosuka. Click here for the location of Yokosuka Ferry Terminal. It feels like it’s a little far away from Tokyo. Yokosuka is also a new and spacious terminal.

Trucks are disembarking one after another. The wind was strong, but the rain I was worried about seemed to have stopped. Following the trucks, regular cars also disembark one after another. However, it’s huge! After leaving the empty terminal, I headed to Yokosuka Chuo Station.

According to the information, it seems that flights from Yokosuka have been suspended. Although the travel time is long at 21 hours, I prefer traveling by ferry to my destination more slowly than by plane or Shinkansen. This is a model of the ferry at the ferry terminal.

It is about a 15 minute walk to Yokosuka Chuo Station on the Keikyu Line, so there is no connecting bus. I’ll take a taxi or walk there. thank you very much.
