For the last 12 years, every time Iā€™ve visitedĀ  a Disney theme park, itā€™s been preceded by atĀ Ā  least a couple hours of Disney planning.Ā  As the parks get busier and more complex,Ā Ā  and the price continues to climb, itā€™sĀ  almost a necessity to get your moneysĀ Ā

Worth. Iā€™m a planner by nature so I actuallyĀ  enjoy this part. So the night before my firstĀ Ā  ever visit to Tokyo Disneyland, I setĀ  some time aside, and did my studiesā€¦ Download the Disney Resort app before you visit Arrive 1 to 2 hours beforeĀ  the official opening time.

The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the BeastĀ  is always busy so make that a priority. Once your ticket is scanned, use the appĀ  to reserve your first free priority pass You can obtain your next priority pass 2 hoursĀ Ā  later or after the start timeĀ  of your previous Priority Pass

Priority pass runs out on theseĀ  rides sooner so reserve those first Introducing Premiere Access Introducing Entry Request Introducing Disney MobileĀ Ā  At this point, as strange as it may seemĀ  to any non theme park folk out there,Ā Ā  this was all pretty standard fairĀ  for an enthusiastic Disney fan.

See, Iā€™m no stranger to Disney theme parks,Ā  because I love visiting. I enjoy the DisneyĀ Ā  movies as much as the next, but itā€™s theĀ  parks that really hit the right note. As corny as it sounds, for me, there is aĀ  magic to this place, maybe it syncs backĀ Ā

To childhood memories, maybe it resemblesĀ  a safe haven away from lifeā€™s problems,Ā Ā  maybe its just a deep appreciation forĀ  its theming, rides and environment. So I want you to know upfront, this isnā€™tĀ  some throwaway negative Disney video. NorĀ Ā

Is it a blind faith love fest. Itā€™s an hourĀ  by hour retelling of the fantastic highsĀ Ā  and disappointing lows of visitingĀ  Tokyo Disney in the modern day era. Now, Iā€™d heard that Tokyo Disneyland specifically,Ā  was busy on a whole other level. And thatā€™s whyĀ Ā

Iā€™d spent all those hours of planning, gettingĀ  up to date. Iā€™ve had countless Disney plansĀ Ā  before and they have ALWAYS paid off and ALWAYSĀ  meant Iā€™m able to tick everything off my list. But as Iā€™d soon find out, theĀ  levels of people were so high,Ā Ā

That despite all this research, surely puttingĀ  me ahead of the vast majority of park goers,Ā Ā  it would be the first time, that all thisĀ  preparation, was no longer, good enough. The park is set to open at 9am so, I arriveĀ  90 minutes early, and thereā€™s already a seaĀ Ā

Of people in front. Maybe I should have gotĀ  here for 7, but no worries, I have the plan.Ā Ā  Probably the same plan as everyone else inĀ  front, but hey, thereā€™s enough to go aroundā€¦ Itā€™s now 8:30 and Happy Entry starts which isĀ  hotel guests gaining access 15 minutes early.Ā Ā

Which means that 8:45, the parks opening early,Ā  and Iā€™m shuffling towards these magical gates. Once my ticket is scanned, most people are headingĀ  towards Beauty and the Beast, as am I. There is aĀ Ā  slight urge to run hysterically towards it, butĀ  I remember I am English, and I will remain calm.

Now that my ticketā€™s been scanned,Ā  whilst still walking, I bring outĀ Ā  my phone and book my first PriorityĀ  Pass. For those who remember Fast Pass,Ā Ā  this is basically a digital version,Ā  but now from the convenience of yourĀ Ā  own phone. I reserve a Priority Pass forĀ  Space Mountain between 10:10 and 11:10. Cool.

I look up from my phone and approach theĀ  ride entrance for Beauty and The Beast,Ā Ā  marked by this stunning French Chateau. AndĀ  itā€™s here that I do a double take. The waitĀ Ā  time is alreadyā€¦ 140 minutes. Like, howĀ  is this even possible? The park has onlyĀ Ā

Be open 25 minutes for Hotel guests, and 10Ā  minutes for the public. Itā€™s not even 9am,Ā Ā  the park shouldnā€™t be open yet, and thereā€™s 140Ā  minutes worth of people at this one ride? And ifĀ Ā  youā€™re assuming theyā€™re just over estimatingĀ  the wait time, weā€™ll get to that later.

Anyway, I immediately realise my firstĀ  mistake, something I hadnā€™t read duringĀ Ā  planning. This ride is already so busyĀ  that to join the back of the queue,Ā Ā  you donā€™t head to the entrance. No, the backĀ  of the queue starts in the next land over,Ā Ā

So I walk for a good minute. Watching theĀ  castle slip into my past, my gut gets uneasy. So, I am now in my first queue at TokyoĀ  Disneyland. And, I really donā€™t mind queuing,Ā Ā  itā€™s expected within a Disney Park, but 2Ā  hours and 20 minutes, this early in the day?

For comparison, just one week ago, I was atĀ  Universal Studios Osaka. Here I followed aĀ Ā  similar plan to get into the massively busyĀ  Nintendo Land. I arrived 90 minutes early,Ā Ā  used their single rider lane for free, whichĀ  Disney didnā€™t offer, and that all meant IĀ Ā

Waited 10 minutes for the crazy new popular MarioĀ  Kart ride. Tokyo Disney was a whole other beast. But thatā€™s normally the beauty of arrivingĀ  early at a park; you can experience 2 orĀ Ā  3 of the most popular rides with littleĀ  wait, and then when it does get busier,Ā Ā

The wait times are fine as youā€™ve averagedĀ  it out, making the early rise worth it. But, after 5 minutes in this queue, I realiseĀ  Iā€™d lose all that early advantage with thisĀ Ā  one ride. Iā€™ve never experienced thisĀ  many people this early into the gameā€¦

So I hastily made a decision that 10 minutesĀ  ago hadnā€™t even crossed my mind. I was goingĀ Ā  to succumb to my Fear of missing outĀ  and purchase, Disney Premiere Access. Premiere Access allows you to purchase aĀ  skip the line entry. Considering DisneyĀ Ā

Offered Fast Pass completely free for 20Ā  years, the decision to now charge for this,Ā Ā  has understandably caused a big backlash,Ā  even amongst the most diehard of Disney fans. The silver lining is the weak Japanese currency,Ā  so my 2000 yen doesnā€™t break the bank, but I stillĀ Ā

Feel like an absolute mug for paying anyway. But,Ā  Iā€™m only here for one day so I can justify it. By the time Iā€™ve added my card details, itā€™s 9:03,Ā Ā  and the wait now stands at 170 minutesĀ  with the next available time slot 3 hoursĀ Ā

Away. I click purchase, the cogsĀ  spin andā€¦ the payment is accepted. OK, so Iā€™ve pre booked SpaceĀ  Mountain for an hours time,Ā Ā  got Beauty and the Beast reservedĀ  after that. What to do now? OK so the nearest ride to me also hasĀ  a 2 hours plus queue, thereā€™s MonstersĀ Ā

Inc? A 50 minute wait apparently, and thatā€™sĀ  easily done by listening to a single podcastĀ Ā  episode. For those wondering, my wife hasĀ  more sense than me, so is still in bed. I look at my watch and itā€™s been 55 minutesĀ  in line. Those wait times seem to be prettyĀ Ā

Accurate. After someone yells at me in Japanese,Ā  I take my seat, hoping it isnā€™t important. But,Ā Ā  after being inside the park gates for 80Ā  minutes now, the attractions can finally beginā€¦ Itā€™s my first time riding Monsters Inc andĀ  itā€™s fun for what it is. Iā€™m given this torch,Ā Ā

Which I can I can point towards variousĀ  monsters, which will in turn, make themĀ Ā  react in various ways. Itā€™s a solid start andĀ  Iā€™m already feeling my energy slightly rekindled. As I exit through the gift shop,Ā Ā  I realise itā€™s already time forĀ  one of my favourite Disney staples.

Upon arrival, I flash my free Priority Pass,Ā Ā  bypassing the common queue, feeling likeĀ  the Lion King. The plan is back on track. Walking through the priority line, I noticeĀ  several times that here, Space Mountain isĀ Ā  sponsored by Coca Cola. That must have costĀ  an absolute fortune and for what gain, I askĀ Ā

Myself? I mean, Iā€™m certainly too intelligentĀ  to fall for some brand association marketing,Ā Ā  that, I can be sure of, and it certainlyĀ  wont become relevant later in this video!ā€¦ Whilst queuing, I realise I canĀ  now book my next Priority Pass,Ā Ā

Since Iā€™ve just used the first. I rememberĀ  reading that Buzz Lightyears Astro BlastersĀ Ā  is usually the next most popular free passĀ  but by now, the next available slot is 6Ā Ā  long hours away. So I reserve the ticketĀ  and get my head back into the theming,Ā Ā

With my current Priority Pass turningĀ  what is now a 90 minute wait into 15. Space Mountain has recently seen a resurgenceĀ  at Tokyo since itā€™s soon to be closing for aĀ Ā  reimagined version. So at least forĀ  me, this finality made it even moreĀ Ā

Special and the pitch black roller coaster is asĀ  atmospheric and exhilarating as its ever beenā€¦ Completing my Tomorrowland experience then, isĀ  Star Tours, with a tantalising 35 minute wait.Ā Ā  For those that donā€™t know, itā€™s a pretty uniqueĀ  3D simulator, in that the ride sequence is alwaysĀ Ā

Randomised. This means guests will experienceĀ  any 4 out of a possible 21 different segments,Ā Ā  which amounts to 700 possible combinations.Ā  Although itā€™s a ride Iā€™m really familiar with,Ā Ā  itā€™s executed really well andĀ  is always a fun experience.

I glance at my watch and, wow, itā€™s already goneĀ  11am. Itā€™s a little early than Iā€™d have liked butĀ Ā  this means itā€™s lunch time. The plan says thatĀ  peak lunch really kicks off from 11:30 so nowĀ Ā

Is probably a good time to get in before everyoneĀ  else. Oh, you have no idea how very wrong I wasā€¦ If youā€™ve ever watched or read any themeĀ  park tips content, they all make an almostĀ Ā  passing suggestion to eat outside of peak lunchĀ  hours. Only sometimes do I pay attention to it,Ā Ā

Because generally, even when it is a bitĀ  of a wait, it isnā€™t that much of an issue. The plan suggested Tomorrowland Terrace, andĀ  here it is looking empty. The reason beingĀ Ā  is that it has the most number of seats, but IĀ  just really wanted a burger. I open the app toĀ Ā

See where it was and Iā€™m shown a 30 to 45 minuteĀ  wait time. Ah but thereā€™s the new Disney MobileĀ Ā  Order system. This lets you reserve a 10 minuteĀ  collection windowā€¦ but the next available slotĀ Ā  clashes with the parade. I look at the Queen ofĀ  Hearts Banquet hall, but thatā€™s an hours wait.

I donā€™t want to be locked into a 10Ā  minute food reservation window so IĀ Ā  notice a 10 to 30 minute waitĀ  for Gastons Tavern, sellingĀ Ā  sandwiches. Hopefully itā€™ll be onĀ  the lower side of that estimate. I walk to the doors of Gastons and, yeah, Iā€™veĀ  clearly learnt nothing from this morning asĀ Ā

Again Iā€™m headed to the entrance, when in fact theĀ  queue for sandwichs starts all the way over hereā€¦ So I take place, and question my life. I wait long enough to see inside,Ā  hoping thatā€™s the end but yeah,Ā Ā  this is absolutely 30 minutes. Since Iā€™veĀ  got Beauty and the Beast coming up soon,Ā Ā

This possibly doesnā€™t then give me much timeĀ  to find a space for the parade, so instead,Ā Ā  I enjoy this Kit Kat I brought with me.Ā  Note to self. Next time bring more Kit Kats. So, with some time on my hands, I takeĀ  a breather and check out CinderellasĀ Ā

Castle up close. This iconic centrepiece isĀ  actually my most sentimental Disney traditionĀ Ā  and has lasted for 25 years. WheneverĀ  I exit a Disneyland or Magic Kingdom,Ā Ā  right as Iā€™m leaving, I always take oneĀ  final glance over my shoulder. Not onlyĀ Ā

Is it sad to leave such a happy place andĀ  go back to the real world and its problems,Ā Ā  but itā€™s a quiet thank you a fun day. I wonderĀ  how Iā€™ll actually be feeling by tonight? As for right, now, aside from hunger,Ā  I am feeling bemused yet a littleĀ Ā

Overwhelmed all at the same time. Lucky forĀ  me though, Disney is about to blow my mindā€¦ So I want to tell you a little travel story.Ā  As you may know, this trip was part of a 3Ā  month journey around Asia. Just as we wereĀ  leaving, Season 2 of The Traitors had justĀ Ā

Started on the BBC. Itā€™s my absolute favouriteĀ  reality show, especially the UK version. So, weā€™re in Malaysia, episodeĀ  2 comes out, and to watch it,Ā Ā  since its on the BBC, Iā€™d have go toĀ  the airport, catch a flight to England,Ā Ā  enjoy some Traitoring on my own, thenĀ  return. Next week, weā€™re in Indonesia,Ā Ā

Episode 3 comes out, ANOTHER flight. This costĀ  me Ā£2000. Then, Nord VPN came into my life. At the click of a button I was able to changeĀ  our location to the UK whilst traveling,Ā Ā  and just like that, we were watching The Traitors.Ā  Plus, if youā€™re concerned about online security,Ā Ā

Nord NPN offers tonnes of extra features.Ā  Maybe you want extra safety using unprotectedĀ Ā  wifi. Nord VPN can also help blockĀ  malicious trackers when browsing,Ā Ā  Can scan files before you download. Even alertĀ  you when your passwords have been exposed.Ā Ā  All of this is covered across 6 differentĀ  devices, keeping an entire household safer.

So get 4 bonus months on a 2-year plan by visitingĀ Ā  nordvpn.com/SuitcaseMonkey It’s risk-free with Nord’s 30-day money-backĀ  guarantee so it’s worth checking out,Ā Ā  even if youā€™re just curious. Now, back to Tokyo. Whenever a new Disney ride is being shown on aĀ  YouTube video, I always, always look away fromĀ Ā

The screen. I want to go in, totally blind forĀ  whatā€™s about to happen. Indeed, Iā€™m possibly theĀ Ā  only parks fan who still doesnā€™t really know whatĀ  to expect at Floridas Pandora and Galaxyā€™s Edge. But the reason why I look awayĀ  is exactly for moments like this.Ā Ā

I have absolutely no idea whatĀ  Iā€™m walking into and itā€™s a joy. The pre show and line itself is everything youā€™dĀ  expect, setting the tone and scene perfectly. ButĀ Ā  as I see the cars weā€™re about to ride in, IĀ  know Iā€™m in for a treat. The first thing IĀ Ā

Notice is that these teacups are trackless, whichĀ  always impresses me. The ride is structured intoĀ Ā  different rooms, each depicting key scenes fromĀ  the movie. Unfortunately I canā€™t include theĀ Ā  music being played here or this video will get aĀ  copyright strike, but just imagine sitting in aĀ Ā

Very excitable teacup thatā€™s floating on air, asĀ  if by magic, with Lumiere singing Be Our Guest. And itā€™s at this very point that I forget allĀ  about the plan, forget about the wait times,Ā Ā  hell, even the fact that the only thing Iā€™veĀ  eaten in the last 7 hours is a tiny Kit Kat,Ā Ā

This is something only Disney can pull off,Ā  and it literally sends chills down my spine. Lasting 8 minutes in total, itā€™s longerĀ  than your average ride and for me,Ā Ā  should be the blueprint for modern dayĀ  attractions. Moving across 4 rooms forĀ Ā  2 minutes each really allowsĀ  you to soak in the atmosphere,Ā Ā

Youā€™re not just passing an animatronic forĀ  10 seconds and then moving onto the next. And, Iā€™m so lost in this moment, that IĀ  donā€™t even wonder where this is all goingĀ Ā  to climax. As the melody that accompaniesĀ  the words Tale as old as Time begins,Ā Ā

We enter into that ballroom and I haveĀ  no words. Itā€™s one thing to witness anĀ Ā  embracing beauty and the beast right in front ofĀ  you, itā€™s another to be dancing around them and,Ā Ā  as I assume is intended, dancing with them.Ā  You literally become part of one of DisneysĀ Ā

Most famous moments. We are now a collectiveĀ  group of teacups, dancing with Beauty andĀ Ā  the Beast and I think Iā€™ve just died and gone toĀ  Disney heaven. This cannot be topped. Or can it? Feeling like Rapunzel, I stepĀ  into a new world. Itā€™s now 12:30,Ā Ā

Disneyland is my oyster and yes Iā€™mĀ  feeling apprehensive but positiveĀ Ā  about completing my Disney list. I head towardsĀ  Fantasyland, with the parade being my end goal. I still keep an eye out for food but the linesĀ  are even longer now and my stomach grumbles on.

To allow for crowd flow, you can onlyĀ  watch the parade from specific areas,Ā Ā  and I duck under a rope into an open spot,Ā  which I think is allowed if thereā€™s space?Ā Ā  I arrive 18 minutes before show timeĀ  and am more than happy with my view.

Whilst waiting, I notice that all free PriorityĀ  Passes have already run out. So, I ultimatelyĀ Ā  decide that paying for Splash Mountain is my bestĀ  option. It currently has a 2 hour standby time,Ā Ā  so I pay 1500 yen to reserve my slot. Again,Ā  I feel like Iā€™m part of the problem, I know,Ā Ā

But you must remember that, ohĀ  sorry, the paradeā€™s startingā€¦ By this point, everything is 60Ā  or 90 or 120 minutes and beyond,Ā Ā  so hereā€™s an idea. Lets refrainĀ  from trying to plan everythingĀ Ā  and go traditional with a goodĀ  olā€™ fashioned Disney wanderā€¦

Over the next 3 and a half hours I pack in theĀ  highest density of wins yet. I start with PiratesĀ Ā  of the Caribbean, and the ride continuesĀ  to remain a classic, and for good reason. I then finally notice a restaurant that doesnā€™tĀ  have a queue bursting out its doors. I order theĀ Ā

Hungry Bear Curry and for some reason, Iā€™mĀ  absolutely gagging for a Coca Cola. Oh yes,Ā Ā  Coca Coca number 1! But no timeĀ  to relax, I have Premiere Access. Over to Splash Mountain then, and the weatherā€™sĀ  getting me well and truly prepared. As I arrive,Ā Ā

The wait time stands at 135 minutes butĀ  my paid Access spins it into 15. ThisĀ Ā  has always been my favourite from theĀ  mountain trilogy and easily the bestĀ Ā  Disney ride soundtrack out there.Ā  And then, of course, thereā€™s thisā€¦

Oh, The Jungle cruise. I have no idea whatĀ  this guyā€™s saying, but, Iā€™m all for itā€¦ Next and contender for the worlds greatestĀ  song to listen to for 10 minutes on repeat,Ā Ā  itā€™s Small Small World. Marking theĀ  definition of ā€œits so sweet its scaryā€,Ā Ā

How could you not enjoy being under its spell? (music repeats) Normally, I remember being able to get atĀ  least 4 Fast Passes during a day at Disney,Ā Ā  but itā€™s now time for my second and finalĀ  Priority Pass. Itā€™s another shooter ride butĀ Ā

Since this one requires two hands and Iā€™mĀ  very competitive, I have no time to film. And finally, thereā€™s the Western River Railroad;Ā Ā  something Iā€™d not normally do, but withĀ  a 15 minute line, itā€™s hard to resistĀ Ā  and itā€™s actually an enjoyable changeĀ  of pace, especially during nightfallā€¦

These last few hours of back to back rides feelsĀ  like classic Disneyland. And thatā€™s because,Ā Ā  largely, it is. Iā€™m mostly left ridingĀ  yesterdayā€™s rides, with fewer people in line,Ā Ā  and not having to think about using an appĀ  to reserve or pay for them, which is nice.

This is the first time Iā€™ve visited a DisneyĀ  Park that requires the app and overall,Ā Ā  Iā€™ve found its reliance kinda took meĀ  out of my surroundings. 10 years ago,Ā Ā  the only real preparation you needed to know, wasĀ  the order of collecting Fast Pass tickets and now,Ā Ā

For me, itā€™s gotten a little out of hand.Ā  Although I didnā€™t realise it at the time,Ā Ā  those Fast Pass machines and park maps, bothĀ  benefited from being physically in the DisneyĀ Ā  World, so they werenā€™t breaking immersion. NeedingĀ  my phone so much to get the most from Disneyland,Ā Ā

Is like playing Mario and needing to be in theĀ  menu screen more than the Mushroom Kingdom. There are obviously clear benefitsĀ  to using this app, but my point is,Ā Ā  there is a tangible cost of making yourĀ  park rely so much on your own phone.

For comparison, I used more data 1 day atĀ  Disney than I did over 2 days at UniversalĀ Ā  Studios. And I should note, I was ableĀ  to do everything I wanted on my equallyĀ Ā  packed first day there, so let me knowĀ  if thatā€™s a video youā€™d like to see.

So before the evening truly sets in, withĀ  the electric parade and final fireworks,Ā Ā  what have I missed? The Haunted MansionĀ  has remained around 90 minutes for theĀ Ā  entire day and itā€™s the only ride Iā€™m sad to miss. Iā€™ve also given up on watching a live show,Ā Ā

Which is the first time Iā€™m not been able to seeĀ  at least one during a visit. For performances,Ā Ā  they have something called Entry Request.Ā  Itā€™s effectively a lottery where you haveĀ Ā  to request entry to a show, because justĀ  turning up is no longer good enough.

Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful in thatĀ  lottery, and after being refused once,Ā Ā  you canā€™t apply again for that show.Ā  The cast members suggested I arrive 30Ā Ā  to 60 minutes before the next performance toĀ  have a possible chance of still getting it,Ā Ā

But again, it clashed with my other timedĀ  attractions so just fell by the wayside. Overall then, the pre planning has mostlyĀ  paid off. Unlike with previous visits,Ā Ā  it did still come at the cost of needing aĀ  lot of extra organisation during my time here,Ā Ā  and then of course, payingĀ  twice for Premiere access.

More than ever, it seems, you do needĀ  a Disney plan to really get your moniesĀ Ā  worth and hopefully by the end of this video,Ā  youā€™ll know how I truly feel about my day here. I do wonder though, what mustĀ  be going through the minds of anĀ Ā

Unprepared family who just casually strollĀ  in at 9am. Like, what are they thinking? Maybe itā€™s just no longerĀ  possible to see everythingĀ Ā  you want in a single day which is a good thing,Ā Ā  but that choice also comes at a price and aĀ  change of mind set on my part, going forward.

One thing to keep in mind I found interesting.Ā  Thereā€™s this online crowd calendar that all theĀ Ā  Disney experts say is pretty accurateĀ  based on their years of visiting. ItĀ Ā  predicts how busy the park will be on aĀ  scale of 1 to 8, with 8 being insanity.

Today is projected to be a 3 out of 8, less thanĀ  30,000 people. Now, predictions are obviouslyĀ Ā  just that, but even if this is a 4, or a 5? IĀ  donā€™t even want to think what a 6 feels like. Unfortunately, my last few hours atĀ  Tokyo Disney were a little disappointing,Ā Ā

And to no ones fault. I asked a cast memberĀ  about the Electric Parade and they said thatĀ Ā  due to the rain, it was unfortunatelyĀ  cancelled. Iā€™m not exactly sure why,Ā Ā  something about water and electricity, theirĀ  English wasnā€™t very good. But they did thenĀ Ā

Raise a question mark over the likelihood ofĀ  the final fireworks display from happening also. Looking for things to do, even this late inĀ  the day, the wait times werenā€™t coming down,Ā Ā  and I was pretty exhausted. But I was ableĀ  to duck into Star Tours one more time,Ā Ā

Enjoying another randomised sequence. I alsoĀ  got to grab that burger Iā€™d wanted 8 hours ago. But the fireworks were eventually cancelled,Ā  which is just one of those things thatĀ Ā  canā€™t be helped. To combat the overallĀ  disappointment that was hanging in the air,Ā Ā

They did put on a scaled back parade as aĀ  consolation prize which was appreciatedā€¦ As the parade passed me by, my time atĀ  Tokyo Disneyland was coming to an endā€¦ I made my final walk, towards the exit,Ā  reflecting on the crazy day Iā€™d just had;Ā Ā

The good times, the not so good times, theĀ  hungry times and the fun. The strange thing?Ā Ā  That despite everything, despiteĀ  any unexpected down sides that Iā€™dĀ Ā  experience over the last 12 hoursā€¦ IĀ  still looked back, over, my shoulderā€¦

Well this was a fun video to make. Welcome toĀ  those who are new to the channel and welcomeĀ Ā  back if not. I try to make YouTube travel videosĀ  that are unique in this world of copy and paste.Ā Ā

They take a lot more effort than your averageĀ  YouTube video so please do share this one withĀ Ā  your friends, especially if you have anyĀ  Disney friends out there. We make travelĀ Ā  videos from all over the world, covering allĀ  aspects of travel, so if you want some more,Ā Ā

Iā€™ll link a good follow on video forĀ  you here to watch next. As mentionedĀ Ā  this was part of our 3 month Asia tripĀ  and Iā€™ll be releasing videos from thatĀ Ā  trip over the coming months. So as ever,Ā  thanks for watching, Suitcase Monkey. šŸ™‚

  2. Those lines look like a bit of a nightmare for me. I can only imagine this in Japanā€™s extreme humidity or rainy seasonā€¦

  3. Wonderful video! I am happy to be part of a growing 'Suitcase Monkey Youth' movement šŸ˜‚. If it takes years, if not decades, of Disney Park experience/fandom to know how to make the most of this trip then I can only imagine what a dreadful experience this ends up being when going in cold for the first time – and then how exponentially worse it must be if it were a family with young children going for the first time. šŸ˜“ For this Suitcase Monkey destination I am extremely happy to watch this video, but will this time take a hard pass on participating myself.

  4. Well narrated video from the Magical Kingdom. We always have wonderful time there. Well worth the wait. (Tokyo) (Shanghai ) (Paris) (Anaheim) (Orlando). Judy, Looked what you missed.
Sending you Best WishesšŸ˜€ šŸ to you and Judy from Jim and Harriet

  5. Yes, we would be very interested in a USJ video as we are planning to visit for the first time this May! And especially for Super Nintendo World. Here's hoping the new Donkey Kong area (and mine cart ride!) will be open in time for our visit.

  6. Donā€™t go on a weekend or holiday, be at the gates 90-120 min before opening time, and for goodness sake, RUN at rope drop! Run until you canā€™t breathe, and then keep RUNNING! Or just pay for a timed entry later, especially if you do not have Happy entry 15 minutes before general admission.

Do not miss the second park, Disney Sea, but you need a minimum of 1 day per park.

Although the beauty and the beast ride is great, I donā€™t think itā€™s the best thing in the parks. They have other excellent rides, but some of the shows and parades are amazing.

  7. Great video and narrating, I was really immersed.
Just wanted to ask – as someone who has never been. Do you pay for entry to the park, and then also pay for the fast pass to enter attractions?

  8. It's not Disney!; it's the Oriental Land šŸ‘šŸ» There is no such thing as unprepared park guests at Tokyo Disney Resort when it comes to its primary audience, the Japanese. Every Japaese citizen who goes there does a ton of research every time they go there, and the majority of them focus on experiencing one or two categories of things instead of ALL of them. There are hundreds of Japanese park goers who go to Tokyo Disney Resort just for their parades and shows or restaurants and merchandise

  9. I've been to Disneyland 6 times between the late 90s and the early 2010s. I think that it was the best experiences possible and I (unfortunately) never want to go back

  10. OOh, Universal & Disney are way different. Disney World is currently insane with mobs, broken rides, closed rides and everything costs a fortune. I just stopped going, it's not fun any more. I go to a Universal Studios weekend after hours event, it costs a little more than a day pass, but includes all food and snacks & virtually no lines. I had no idea Disney "insanea" was global.

  11. Omg this video was beyond helpful! Thank you so much! I am going to be at Tokyo Disneyland for one day in 2 weeks, and your experience completely answered a bunch of questions for me that you can't really get from just reading a blog. I have been hearing that the food lines were crazy, but looks like I'm going to want to mobile order something as soon as possible haha. Fingers crossed the crowds are a little lighter for me, but in everything I've seen lately the parks just have been packed.

  12. Fyi: the crowd calendar isn't really accurate because it doesn't account for possible biases such as seasonal events and Space Mountain closing. These crowds aren't a 3; they're more of a 6 or 7. Big Thunder Mountain and Hunny Hunt being closed also really inflated the wait times because both have high capacity and are really popular. Another reason why the park was really crowded was because it's spring break and Tokyo Disney is mainly targetted towards young adults (high school/college age) and not young children. To really avoid crowds, it's best to check the Japanese school schedules for holidays and avoid weekends at all costs. We also made the mistake of going to USJ during a weekend and were unable to enter nintendoland. Lastly, just don't go to the park if Hunny Hunt is closed. TDL is also just not as good as DisneySea, so if you have one day, just go there instead.

  13. Technically Disney didnā€™t blow your mind bc this park isnā€™t even owned by Disney. Japanese company didnā€™t hold back and went all out making it and rent the IP.
