Japan’s Daytime Ferry From Aomori to Hokkaido

This ferry company has three routes between Hokkaido and Aomori. I took one of them, a ferry that connects Aomori City and Hakodate City in 3 hours and 40 minutes. Although there is the choice of taking the Shinkansen to Hokkaido, a leisurely trip on a ferry would also be a good idea.
Hakodate was a really nice city. I was super impressed by the deliciousness of Hakodate’s local hamburger store, “Lucky Pierrot”, and the night view of Hakodate.

Hello everyone It’s me, Hiro I am now in Aomori, Japan Today I am taking a ferry from Aomori to Hakodate, Hokkaido Hakodate is located at the southern tip of Hokkaido with a population of approximately 240,000 It is also a major tourist city with more than 5 million visitors every year!

I’ll have something to eat before I board the ferry. I came to a place where you can enjoy a bowl of fresh fish! First, you buy a ticket for 2,000 yen, and then use the ticket to put your favorite ingredients on your bowl First, I go to get rice

And then choose your favorite seafood from a variety of stores! They all look so fresh and delicious. You know, I am an indecisive person I’m not sure what to choose. First, I chose tuna. What a miserable rice bowl… It is worse than dog food People get lost when there are many choices.

In the end, I decided to let master do all the work. After all, this is the easiest and best way. I hate hassle. We are best served by letting the professionals in the field do all the work. With the last ticket I get miso soup What a beautiful seafood bowl!

It is too beautiful to be impressive! Yes ! Fresh fish has a different texture. It is very good with shijimi clam soup stock. I’m so happy to be able to eat such delicious food in the morning! Sea urchin Usually one rice ball is my breakfast. I have never had such a luxurious breakfast.

I love shrimp. They’re delicious on their own, grilled or boiled Look carefully to see if there is any more flesh left. It has long been said that shijimi Clams are good for the liver, but is it true?

In Japan, it is even said to be good to drink shijimi soup the morning after drinking alcohol. Do they say the same in your country? Okay I am full, I am heading for the ferry terminal. There is a bus from Aomori station to the ferry terminal and I will take it!

I’m getting excited thinking about the ferry ride Arrive at ferry terminal in 10 minutes Yeah!! This is “The Blue Dolphin” that I am about to board. I didn’t book online, so I buy my ticket at the counter.

They have a large room called “Standard”, but I bought a ticket for a “View Seat” with a great view! There is time before departure, so I say hello to the captain. Hi! Captain Dolphin Between you and me, I’ve never owned a suitcase before I kind of long to travel with this

Here is a standard room. Spend your time lying on the floor. Here is the view seat This is the very front of the ferry and a very nice seat to enjoy the view! This is my seat. It’s nice to have a blanket. Wow, isn’t this great!

This chair reclines more than I expected Each seat has an outlet What is this almond chocolate-like object? There are vending machines on board that sell cup noodles as well as snacks and lunch boxes. Microwave and boiled water available. Let’s take a look upstairs

You can also stay in a suite if you pay double the standard price Unfortunately, we couldn’t go out on deck. Staff said that in winter it is windy and icy and dangerous. Deck appears to be available in spring and summer So I say goodbye to Aomori through the glass

Now I will buy a very shaken beer to celebrate the sailing! Open slowly… Cheers to the Tsugaru Strait Alcohol tastes great with this amazing view! He is now savoring the happiness. And then he spends meaningful time counting the number of stains on the ceiling.

The shinkansen, which runs through an undersea tunnel, will get you to Hokkaido in about an hour However, taking a leisurely ferry like this is not a bad idea! I wonder if the ferries in the Straits of Dover between England and France are similar to this? I would like to go there once.

18knot (33.34 km/h) (20.71 mph) Wow! I can see Hokkaido! I was so impressed! but it was completely different… We hadn’t even left the bay yet. Take a nap at 180 degree When I woke up, Hokkaido was right in front of me. Mount Hakodate, famous for its night view, is now clearly visible.

After leaving Aomori, it takes 3 hours and 40 minutes to arrive at Hakodate! I was the only one doing this with the cute heart monument. From here, take a bus to Hakodate Station. Thank you Blue Dolphin, you made my day The Hokkaido sun and snow reflections burn my eyes. Arrive at Hakodate Station!

Cheerful westerner behind me… And speaking of Hakodate, “Lucky Pierrot” hamburger restaurant “Lucky Pierrot” operates only here in Hakodate. It is rumored that even McDonald’s and KFC could not win here in Hakodate. I ordered the most popular Chinese Chicken Burger! I like this retro style.

These fries with meat sauce and cheese are very good! Can’t stop eating Lucky Piero’s special feature is that they deep fry the chicken only after receiving an order. Therefore, all products are freshly made and hot! It’s Super delicious. I’m glad I came to Hakodate

By the way, I thought “Pierrot” was an English word. Did you know it’s French? And this is the budget capsule hotel I’m staying at tonight. There’s a hammock in the lounge Of course, how could I not get on it Empty my mind and just sway.

Then I went to Mt. Hakodate to see the night view. Mt. Hakodate has been selected as one of the three best night views in Japan and is popular among tourists! Take the ropeway to the top of the mountain It’s awesome! More beautiful than the seafood bowl I had this morning!

The best time to visit is in winter! The clear air makes it easy to see the beautiful scenery, and the city lights reflect off the snow, making it even more brilliant and magical. That’s what the brochure said!.. Dinner is, of course, “Lucky Pierrot” The 2nd most popular Lucky Egg Burger

This is my last meal at Lucky Pierrot as I am going to Sapporo tomorrow. I’ll miss it. Thank you for watching See you on the next trip!

That food reminds me of Jack n the box in USA. Need to do your exercise after eating that! Looking forward to the next adventure in Sapporo!
