Hello Kuramae . The cold weather is gradually easing, and the season has arrived where you can feel the beauty of buds sprouting. Today, we will take a walk around Kuramae to find “spring”. Kuramae Shrine is a shrine founded by the fifth shogun, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi.
In spring, the shrine is popular for its early blooming cherry blossoms and mimosas that decorate the grounds. When I visited at the end of February, the mimosas were in full bloom and the cherry blossoms were at their peak, about 7 minutes into bloom. The combination of bright yellow and pink is beautiful 🌸
It feels like spring is coming a little early ☺ The Kuramae area has been gaining popularity recently and has been described as the Brooklyn of Tokyo. There are a lot of wonderful cafes here… “Kissa Hangetsu” is also famous. First, let’s take a look at the Uguis Building. An old building built over 50 years ago has been renovated and transformed into a retro-modern building. The name “Uguisu Building” is said to have come from the plum tree in front of the building.
On the table at the entrance are the shop cards of the shops that occupy the premises. On the first floor, there is a shop selling vintage flowers and brass goods. It’s a beautiful spring-colored swag💐Let ‘s go upstairs. Each room has a nice shop inside. Please come to room 202.

Let’s go buy some chocolate today… I don’t know which one to go for… The eat-in cafe menu looks delicious too…
This “Chef’s Tasting” is a limited edition dessert plate. You can enjoy 5 types of desserts like a course meal. There is also an extensive chocolate drink menu. “Kramae Hot Chocolate” seems to be an original menu item. The second floor is a cafe space. A bright space with high ceilings.
There is a long line on holidays, but on weekdays you can relax and enjoy your time. When I got home, I received some chocolate ♪ This chocolate was recommended by the store and seems to be a very popular item. The butter caramel inside, cacao nibs, and salt topping are a perfect match.
Collaboration chocolate with Kyoto confectionery master Yoshinaga Kameya. Cacao and brown sugar coexist deliciously. The chocolate tasted just like Japanese sweets. Well, I came to the store I was looking for today. There is a flower shop attached to the baked goods shop. Highly recommended by a friend! I was looking forward to visiting ☺They

Today, I’m going to eat this at my seat🥄It ‘s a classic cake that has been made since they opened, and I was recommended it. Sweet and sour and delicious – eat-in only menu. The fruits seem to change depending on the season. The perfect balance of crunchy meringue, sweet and sour strawberries, and cream.
Spring is spreading in my mouth ☺ I had a happy time surrounded by spring flowers. It was delicious, thank you for the meal! Kuramae stroll has resumed. A bear holding bread! So cute 🐻Next , we went to “Confectionery Shop Shinonome”.
In the Kuramae area, there are several stylish shops affiliated with Shinonome, including the bakery mentioned earlier. I was prepared to wait in line as it is a popular store, but I managed to get in at the right time.
It’s the style that the store clerk makes for you, so you line up wondering what to order… cookies, scones, pound cake. There are many types of each. Today, I bought scones. Crunchy and crumbly texture. It was delicious and not too sweet. This is also a tool shop affiliated with Shinonome.
We handle daily necessities with stylish designs. Many people were visiting. Passing through an alley lined with cute pizza shops and select bookstores, we headed to one last cafe we were looking for. This cafe is a renovated old printing factory. The interior of the restaurant has a classic and calm atmosphere.
First, order and pay at the counter. The spacious store is picturesque no matter where you look. There are a lot of books, so you can enjoy a relaxing cafe time. The items on display are said to have been collected by the owner from Japan and overseas.
A moist and not too sweet cheesecake that goes well with tea. Enjoying a wonderful time with a William Morris cup… While feeling the arrival of spring, I was able to relax my mind and body, which had hardened due to the cold, and enjoy the time to face myself in a relaxed manner 🌸
