We are Andrew and lean one week ago we landed in Japan to start our next big adventure we have come fth South to explore the beautiful island of Mima and the City of Hoshima good morning everybody we are here at the Mima Ferry Terminal ready to go to MIMA Island we’re super excited we tried to get an LA Ferry but it’s still super busy let’s check it Out we’ve gotten really really lucky with the weather it’s a gorgeous blue sunny day the water behind us is Crystal Clear it’s still a little bit chilly the infamous toy gate is behind us it’s actually world heritage site we’ll put the name of it down below we’ve actually

Seen like cute deer walking all around this park as well um I’m sure we’ll get more shots of those later but we’re going to carry on and take you around the rest of the island so we have just found the most adorable little place tucked away away

From the um main path where people are walking walking uh walked past and I thought it was closed but it looked like a little tea shop with all traditional um tables outside and different types of tea so we’ve just popped in and it’s actually open and we’re going to get two

Bowls of matcha with little Manu apparently this place is 230 years old and it’s gorgeous it’s absolutely gorgeous we’re the only people in here and I can’t wait for matcha so we’ve got our little bowl of matcha which is green tea in a powder and then they whisk it up with a bamboo

Whisk and then we’ve got our little mangu which is like a little filled cake usually with red bean but they do come in different flavors and all of this I think was 650 Yen 680 680 Yen so bargain so it’s like a soft cake and it’s filled with like sweet auki

Beans and it goes perfect with a slightly better matcha tea it’s really good that was the most gorgeous little place that we’ have ever been to it’s well worth getting off the main path and just exploring around Mima town it’s it’s actually a much much bigger island than we thought there’s a

Lot to experience here you could easily spend a full day if not a couple of days on the island there’s also hotels here which we didn’t realize yeah definitely definitely worth visiting so we’ve actually found a map we are miles away from anywh anywh currently here and

We’re going to try and follow the green route for seeing animals and plants and it takes you to the top of Mount Misan which I think is five well 535 M so we’ve just found a really really nice spot on the trail by the side of the

River so we’re going to stop and eat our little bentos before we make the hike off to the top of the Mountain So we weren’t planning on climbing this mountain but we’re nearly at the top and the views are pretty amazing there actually some gorgeous looking beaches down there so I think we are close to the summit now the sun has come out and is cracking the flags and there is this huge Temple

Up at the top it’s absolutely massive there’s like smoke blowing out the doors there’s still another staircase to go up but a really really really nice place so the flame inside this building has supposedly been burning for 12200 years and the flame itself was actually used to light the eternal flame in in

Hiroshima Peace Park we’ve also just bought a little momento uh congratulating us for reaching the summit and the text is written using the ash from the fire behind us made it okay so we’ve finally reached the highest point um it’s really nice up here it’s really warm supposed to be

Raining tomorrow so really glad we did it Okay so we’re going to sit up at the top cool down a little bit eat some chippies and then we’re going to pack the camera away and we will see you back down in Mia town so we’ve just stopped by to get some ice cream at the bottom of the

Mountain we’re almost back at the fairy Port now and we went for the purple sweet potato ice cream it’s the first time I think I’ve ever tried this probably different to the U ice cream in the Philippines which I think is a little bit different to this so let’s

Try a bit with the ice cream and a bit with the sweet potato like the lady said it’s actually quite Savory really creamy nice I actually really like that it’s not overly sweet it does have like a nice almost chest snotty flavor from the uh from the yam really good this was 500

Yen by the way also I would absolutely love to take the Drone off to get some shots of the big uh Toy gate but I don’t want to disturb people and not only that but there are some huge Eagles up in the sky so I’m not chanting to drone with

Them about by the way Hiroshima is the biggest producer of oysters in the whole of Japan uh in fact on the way here we saw tons and tons of floating oyster farms we did also see a oyster Curry bun which I might try if I get a

Chance so this place is called the curry bread Laboratory um we walked past earlier and it said they were doing oyster Curry bread this thing is like super soft it’s almost like a donut right that is so so much better than the um the koi bread I had in the last video

It’s like really moist really juicy it is like full of oysters as well that’s so good this one was 500 yen solid 9 out of 10 little bit greasy but so good so I went for the cheese bun which is molten hot it they literally just finished making it before I bought

It that was so hot it was like a volcano it’s really good gotot Curry inside and cheese no no no not anyway we’re going to jump back on the ferry in a minute and we will see you back in Hiroshima good afternoon guys we are back in one

Of our favorite cities in all of Japan we’ve come back to Hiroshima cannot wait to show you around it’s really strangely just started snowing even though we’ve got blue skies above us and behind us you can see the adome which was one of the only buildings that was left

Standing after the bomb dropped pretty amazing so behind me you can see a monument in the peace Park in harashima which is dedicated to all the students that were mobilized during the war and that lost their lives at the bottom stands a goddess as a bronze you and

She’s the goddess of peace so the whole area around the adome is the Hiroshima Peace Park and it’s an absolutely beautiful area uh it’s really calm peaceful this entire area used to actually be Central Hiroshima it used to be the city before before the blast the entire thing was leveled and they

They’ve created this absolutely stunning Park it’s a really really nice place this behind us is actually one of the most famous monuments inside the park it’s an altar dedicated to a young girl called sakasaki she did un fortunately developed leukemia due to the radiation that she she sustained there is a bit of

A tradition in Japan where if you fold 1,000 paper cranes you are granted a wish and the myth goes that she did actually manage to fold a thousand of them but sadly she did lose her battle to cancer and she lost her life in at

The age of 12 I believe so all of these beautiful colored things behind me are actually the the folded paper cranes that people have donated to the hirosima peace park there are absolutely thousands all of these glass containers are full to the brim with paper grains

You can also ring this Bell behind do switch rings for well piece one of the most important monuments in the whole park is this behind us this is the Eternal Flame this was built in 1957 and the flame has been burning ever since apparently the flame will burn continuously until the day

Where there are no more nuclear weapons on this planet now that we’ve had a walk through the park we’re going to head to grab some food at one of the most famous areas in all of Hiroshima we’re heading to okomi which is the home of okonomiyaki here in hirosima so we’re

Here we finally found it okay so we finally made it to okamura it’s already pretty busy it’s basically a whole floor full of little tiny independent places that are doing okam Yaki okay so okamura only goes to the fourth floor after that it’s like super fancy so we’ve just finished up inside

That was absolutely delicious we couldn’t film too much inside because there was loads and loads of music playing it was also really loud and intimate we didn’t want to dist St people too much for those of you who don’t know what Okami Aki is it’s basically like the Japanese version of

Pizza and there’s been like a long-going battle between Osaka and Hiroshima as to who has the best style and we really prefer the Hiroshima style okan namaki so that is unfortunately the end of this video guys uh we didn’t have too much time in Hiroshima and Mima we would

Have loved to have shown you more but unfortunately have had to move on if if you want to see more beautiful scenery like this stunning view behind me don’t forget to subscribe to the channel follow us on Instagram because we post daily stories and we will see you in the next video Bye-bye

  4. You both seem to have embraced the Japanese culture. I was especially impressed with the way you demolished that Oyster doughnut. Gone in 4 bites. So good to see you enjoying the place. Great Vlog as usual, looking forward to the next one.
