Japan – Tokyo Otsuka to Sugamo Walking Tour [4K/HDR/Binaural]

From the bustling urban hubs like Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro, Tokyo’s Yamanote Line takes us to the unassuming station of Otsuka. Join me on a walk from Otsuka Station to Sugamo, affectionately known as ‘Grandma’s Harajuku.’ Experience the charm of this quiet neighborhood, where traditional shops, local eateries, and a slower pace of life offer a delightful contrast to Tokyo’s busy streets. Let’s explore Sugamo’s unique atmosphere and discover its hidden gems together!

Hello YouTube. I’ve never mentioned this green line because I thought you already knew about it. But just in case you don’t, this green line is a train line called the Yamanote Line that loops around central Tokyo. Tokyo Station is right here, and all the big-name stations are on this line, such as Shinagawa,

Meguro, Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro. In other words, this line is the most important for anyone new to Tokyo. Today, I’d like to start at one of the stations on this line, Otsuka Station. But unfortunately it doesn’t get a lot of attention like others.

We’ll walk around this neighborhood first and then visit Sugamo, also known as “Grandma’s Harajuku.” OK, are you ready? Let’s go.

  1. My beloved neigborthood two years ago. I remember everyday trip from my apartment in Kitaotsuka to Otsuka Station. It's a nice place to living in, not too crowded but full of services and shops. I remember to walk for the same way when I wanted to take a relaxed walk.
