Osaka. Osaka is the culinary destination of Japan and I am so excited to be here taking a bite of all the deliciousness and also just exploring. There’s so many beautiful sites, we’re going to be here for the cherry blossoms, it’s going to be an epic time. For today’s
Madventure we are so excited to get started exploring. Osaka is known for a more fun and relaxed atmosphere, and we are definitely going to be having some fun today as we explore the sights and take our first delicious bite of the city. Let’s
Go! We are here at Micasadeco and Cafe. I am so excited this is another dish that we had last time we were in Japan that I have literally been dreaming of for 4 years now, fluffy pancakes.
These are the most beautiful pancakes I’ve ever seen in my life! These are, look at them jiggle! Jiggly pancakes! They are made with like a ricotta cheese inside and the egg whites are super whipped. They look so so delicious, of course you can also get them in Tokyo but
All of the best places in Tokyo to get them started in Osaka. They gave us syrup too but I just have to give it a try on its own first oh my gosh it’s just so fluffy and beautiful.
Japan knows texture so soft and delicious but it’s fully cooked it’s not like a raw pancake by any means despite how thick and fluffy they are. it tastes like a pancake meets like an eggy ricotta cheese like omelette kind of thing almost. great level of sweetness and a good
Level of savory as well like there’s some salt in here that’s giving it this perfect delicious balance. add some syrup and make that balanced in the sweet Direction. [Music] this is where it’s at this is such a delicious start to our time in Osaka. it balances so
Well with the slightly salty pancakes when you think of Japanese food in the United States you think of like Ramen you think of sushi but there are so many absolutely delicious incredible things like this that we need back at home. I’m definitely ready to Kuidore here in Osaka.
Delicious. another nickname for Osaka it’s the nation’s kitchen but it’s also the city of water. pretty easy to see why. some people call it the Venice of Japan but reminds us more of Amsterdam like in a good way, there’s a lot more businesses, there’s so many cute
Squished together buildings, like it is such a fun place to be this is such a gorgeous [Music] City. why are you so..? balance is hard. we are not kidding about Osaka being a place you come to eat, we have seen so many lines here, and they’re all for food. sometimes exploring
Japan can be a bit of a sensory overload in the best way. there are so many incredible and intriguing things around you all the time and this is one of those things. too intriguing not to check it out. what does it mean? this is so interesting. so you just grab frozen food, heat
It up rows of microwaves, it’s all you can eat. it’s so wonderful and random, I love this country. another thing I love about this country is that even in the chaos of the city’s busiest neighborhood, there are lovely peaceful spots this is Hozenji an intimate and Serene Buddhist temple in the middle of

Imagine quite possibly the best arcade and entertainment facility in the world. it is 11 stories of absolute fun, with everything included for less than $20 a person. and there is so much to do. but first as a Texan Ivan’s got to bring a little cowboy rodeo to Japan. [Music] woooo. you got fans. and now that he’s proved his Cowboy skills to his adoring fans aka the people in line, let’s explore. there is a karaoke room, a spot to Read Manga and relax
In massage chairs, and they have the manga of some of our favorite anime shows. we saw so many ads for this in Tokyo and it looks so interesting we’re like we got to start watching this so we did. it’s
Actually really cute, we love it. We also started One Piece but uh there’s quite a few to to get through over like a thousand episodes. Archery, human Bubble Soccer, and we have to try out these batting

Nice. why only shoot one hoop when you could shoot nine Hoops? woohoo you have to make it into each one I think and when you make it into one it, the light goes out. [music] there’s golf, robotic ping pong, kickboxing, but you have to hit the numbers
That they say in Japanese and I only know how to count to five. Ni, two, itchi, one, woohoo the most amazing thing, an arcade with all the big games in Japan that we have been dying
To try, and all of them are set to free play. oh my gosh it’s a train conducting game [music] [train sounds] a little more. [laughter] can you imagine? these people are like I think I’ll take the next one. space saving, 3D ponging, whack a moleing, and Dodge balling, and when all of this
Action makes you thirsty, you can get a beer for less than a dollar. Kanpai to that! the bottom floors aren’t all inclusive but with our pass we got some tokens to play on the fake casino floor, and a free try on a crane game. we failed at both
We’re not good gamblers, but we are good eaters and we have definitely worked up an appetite. We are at Okonomiyaki Mizuno for okonomiyaki, which is one of the most famous dishes from Osaka. This place is Michelin Bib Rated, it’s in the heart of Dotonburi, it is a third generation
Okonomiyaki shop we waited in a long line outside so you know it’s going to be good and like oh man these smells are like unreal. okonomiyaki is like a cabbage pancake almost but it’s so much more delicious than that sounds, they put like a almost like a sweet
Worcestershire sauce over the top, put mayo on the top they’ll use like pork belly, scallops, oysters, shrimp, like every delicious meat you can think of. When you get like fully loaded hash browns it’s kind of like that, it’s kind of like that, but like so much better. and like this is the
Place to get it. I’m so excited and we get a cooking show! it’s dinner and a show [Music] wow feel bad doing this cuz it was so beautiful, but if it tastes half as beautiful as it looks it’ll be worth it. this is the traditional okonomiyaki preparation,
With all the delicious ingredients pork in there, we got shrimp in there, oysters in there, seaweed powder, we still got the oyster sauce, the mayonnaise, and an egg as well to finish it all off. Yum right off the bat, you taste that, the minced meat, the crispy bits that you get
On a Smash Burger, that’s what you have going on cuz that’s right on the bottom there, really nice crisp. I can have different parts of this dish, and it all has that same nice cabbage base
Giving it kind of like the the heft and body, then each little part you take in you add a different meat you add a different sauce and it’s like a completely different dish. Arigato, it looks like a like a painting like a brush stroke, this one is made with sweet potato
In the batter instead of flour, has pork belly on the top and we had some scallops on the top too. Before today I thought I liked okonomiyaki I tried it a couple times, it’s good. turns out I love okonomiyaki, I’ve just never had it like this. this is absolutely delicious,
The sweetness of the potato, there’s a little bit of Ginger, there’s like an oyster sauce kind of flavor, there’s mustard and the mayonnaise on there, and they’re all pairing together. it creates such a delicious like body of flavor and then
The pork belly just pairs so well with that, adding the fattiness. I’m in love, this is so good. we are at matcha house and we’ve gotten one of the most insta famous desserts that you can get in Osaka right now, matcha tiramisu and it’s served in this
Cute wooden box, this is just the cutest Cafe, like I love the aesthetic the clean like green and wood design, everything is just lovely, and the dessert itself so incredibly lovely, and it came with a set for just a little bit more we could get this matcha
Latte. that’s quite good Bitter Sweet creamy delicious, but that’s not why we’re here. That is so good sweet delicious cake at the bottom in the middle there’s this delicious sweet creamy custard absolutely incredible and then on the top you just have a layer of just straight up matcha powder just giving it a incredible color and also just like a perfect bitterness
To like top with the rich and the creamy and the sweet and it’s just it is so beautiful and it is so good. when this is like the most instagrammable sweet in Japan right now, you kind of get a little nervous of like okay is it just because it looks
Good? that is not what’s happening here. it looks good, but it tastes phenomenal. I definitely think we’re going to get on board with the eating until we drop here in Osaka, this has been such a delicious start to our time here. I cannot
