I had a huge NijiWinx project in the works and now with Nijinsanji EN essentially falling apart and barely holding itself together at the seams..does there really seem like a point in finishing or even releasing it for that matter..

The problem is that your game can be very good, but opinions will be colored due to sour taste of NijiEN.

Sometimes you do have to retool it – even Beethothan have to rework Symphony No. 3 when Napoleon decide to become an emperor.

If you still have lots of work to do and it will require lots of time, effort and money to complete it I would suggest to abandon it. If its mostly done and wont cost you too much then release it when its done.

Swap hair colors around and pretend they are original characters

It kinda depends on how you feel about NijiEN. I don’t know your thoughts here other than the community is fractured.

Try to repurpose it if you can. Depending on how far along you were, you could get away with applying it to a less toxic fandom instead. Or as someone else already suggested, just make them OCs.

I think it’s a factor between how you feel about the talents themselves, emphasis on the talents themselves, not the company; and if you have the time and money to replace the elements if you decide to.

I think if you decide to keep everything, it could be dedicate to the EN talents that brought you the happiness you have (or had before this all exploded). Maybe make this a type of a “see you later” type of commemoration project.

You could place a disclaimer at the start:

“This project was made before the debacle.”

Or something like that. If you are worried that people will think that you are supporting nijisanji.

Whether you finish it or not is up to you. Just do what make you feel better.

But, set your expectation low if you care about the traction/views

i feel you, i have multiple wip works of my fav livers (for multiple collab/games they did), had to stop and put them in the ‘abandoned’ folder after the Selen incident (tbh i even waited for a couple of weeks if ever there’s gonna be a redemption to any of them)

Honestly, I wouldn’t waste a work in progress over this, it’s not worth it. If you had still been planning, maybe cancel, but it’s kind of like the fan artist and fan merch thing, stuff was already being made.

Do what you want to do imo. If you feel like you don’t endorse the current reality of Niji then just put a disclaimer upfront about it and tell haters to fuck off. If you’re fine with the current Niji then stick to your beliefs (You’re wrong though imo). If you feel demotivated then abandon it or repurpose it or just leave it there or whatever you feel inclined to to.

Just don’t let other people’s feelings decide for you imo.

Just include disclaimer at beginning that you don’t support the actions but this project was already done big dog.

Regardless of everything, at the very least you should release it. You spent time and money on this project. It would be a shame to have it just disappear.
