Let’s take a look at the map. We will be traveling for almost 12 hours from Osaka to Beppu But first we need to check in… … and check out goodies form Okinawa and Hokkaido that were on sale in the terminal

This is the first ferry in Japan that is powered by liquefied natural gas. She entered service in January 2023 Time to board. The ferry is scheduled to depart Osaka at 7:05 PM and arrive in Beppu at 6:55 AM. Staging area for vehicles before they are loaded to the ferry.

Wow, that ferry looks like a small cruise ship! Let’s see our cabin. We booked “Semi-deluxe Japanese-style room” It’s huge! It might be a bit crowded for 4 people, but it’s perfect for 2. It even has a private shower and toilet. Nice! Tea, coffee and sample cookies. Toothbrushes and souvenir towels.

Yukatas. And more towels. We are still docked and now they are loading trucks. But we are hungry. So, let’s have some dinner. This ferry offers a very nice buffet. Traditional sashimi and ryukyu (a local Sashimi dish in Oita Prefecture). Torimeshi – chicken and rice. Vending machine with beer.

Free coffee, tea and fruit juices. After dinner we decided to check the upper deck. It’s almost time for departure. During departure all workers at the port stopped what they were doing and started to wave. Bye-bye Osaka! It got quite chilly, so we decided to go inside.

No Japanese ferry experience is complete without a public bath. But I couldn’t take any pictures there… So let’s check the ferry store instead. After walking a bit more around the ship, it was time to sleep. Good night! Good morning! Our window is covered with salt spray, so let’s go outside.

This is Oita, the capital city of Oita Prefecture. And here is our destination – Beppu. Hello Mr. Fisherman! Beppu is one of the most famous and popular onset towns in Japan. There are more than 2000 hot spring sources in this little town. You can see steam rising from some of them here.

And in the next videos we will visit some of them… So, make sure to subscribe to our channel so you don’t miss them! And if you liked this video, please don’t forget to hit the 👍 button. It was a wonderful overnight trip. But our journey continues. Until next time!
