I got the same vibe of journalist who just write whatever they want to bait the victim to agree to do interview with them.
I am not belittling his role in promoting indies and some vtuber events though. He has done good job on that. But he will never secure that interview with Holo or Niji if he doesn’t want to be professional.

Ducky was correct to criticize False regarding his irresponsible Offkai tweet. And it’s fine to criticize the dramatubers and how audiences conflate them with “news” rather than them just being entertainment about current vtuber topics with an agenda.
But I dislike Ducky even more than the dramatubers because of his hypocrisy and sanctimony. He’s just as guilty of having an agenda and framing things in a slanted way all while holding up the guise of being “balanced.”
He looks down his nose at dramatubers for not having a balanced view of the positives and negatives in this space like he does. And he says one should simply talk about what’s happening with vtubers whether good or bad. Yet when the Selen controversy was happening, he said he had to drop the topic for the sake of his own sanity, put one of his own series on hiatus, and that his relationship with vtubing was hurting him. That’s plainly an unhealthy relationship with the subjects he’s reporting on; his claim at being balanced is just a cover for his own fixations. If something as big as the Selen controversy happens, then this “negative” drama will naturally outweigh the more “positive” news, and choosing to reorient any discussions away from that main topic is just having a skewed view at best or endorsing bootlicking at worst.
Like, he chided and clucked his tongue at the “community” when Ethyria pulled out of Offkai because he stated the community was endangering the safety of the talents and attendees due to tribalism. Like, what? Offkai didn’t say anything about pulling them out of fear for others’ safety. How was the community endangering the talents? Were they threatening to unplug their monitors? Or does he mean people yelling or heckling at them? What does he mean by safety? Or when he chided Khyo for covering Uki’s white people tweet. Whether you sympathize with Uki or not, there was notable blowback against him for saying such things, and so it’s reasonable for someone like Khyo to cover that.
I think he’s like a lot of small-time journalists who cover some subculture. They have a Tumblr-esque, immature view of fandoms and “communities,” and that bleeds into their poor framing of those topics.
