Today we are here in inama city inama city is located in I prefecture it’s just 25 to 30 minutes from Nagoya City by M Train this is our first time to visit this city I’m curious what they have yeah this place has always been on

My list of places to visit so I am super excited today we’re going to be eating some street food we’re going to be checking out the inama castle I cannot wait so we just got off the train um there’s an apartment building at the train station um there’s a hotel right

Here if you want to stay here there’s a little Shrine here and there’s also a nice restaurant here the place we’re going to go to is that street uh leading to the castle so I hear it’s about a 5 minute walk from here so let’s go there

Are many many good places in Japan which I never been inama city is one of them the inama castle is one of the oldest the original Castle which Still Remains in Japan it’s actually one of the five castles in Japan that’s designated as a National Treasure because it’s

Completely original like it’s never been burnt down it’s never been rebuilt after about 7 minutes walking from inoyama station we came a very nice place this is called shwa Street Shad it kind of reminds me of kaag like that but without the cars and without the crowds I think

I I feel feel like um that’s one of the selling points of this place it’s near nagoa so very accessible and number two you can enjoy this Japanese traditional atmosphere with very little crowds anyway I’m hungry I’m so hry me too me too eat something okay so look at this

Building here this is sh Yoko which means sh allei I guess this is another alley in the alley oh they have like straight food here so here they have ice cream of all kind oh some interesting flavors as well you have some um dangle rice cakes that

One looks like a inuyama specialty yeah look at this like super super sh atmosphere of course recreated inside a building o oh this is like sausages German sausages oh I love this look at this atmosphere is this like a oldfashioned bus stop oh bus stop yes that’s so fun

Who and I think and I think here you can like eat at the counter they’re not open yet but oh they are open they they serve oysters here oysters here’s another like oldfashioned shop here they like oysters and stuff here’s more snacks here o oh check it out look look at all the

Food here you want to eat something yes should I get something yeah let’s get Something hi so this is inyama dango the sauce is made with Chesnut and the sesame seeds I think it’s soy sauce best and quite heavy very soft Moi this one looks like Dango but the texture is more than like moochi rice cake very soft and this

Sweet sweet sauce has a the flavor of nuts and also sesame seeds yes yes yes and so so taste but it’s not over s Sweet wow you’re right is like super soft and pillowy and fluffy and it’s Savory and sweet I love it I love this it’s so

Flavorful by the way the seating area here feels like um you’re at a festival it’s a very festive atmosphere it’s like a Omi decoration this city is famous for their M City festivals yeah something that I would love to see one day check out this shop

House you see a lot of Shop houses like this um that has been standing here for the longest time and this is a former isobe residence you can actually go inside and check it out right now they have a display of Haman or the girls day

Dolls uh that’s on this place so if you have time make sure to check out the inside of this place okay we couldn’t resist we found shop selling hia beef sushi hia beef is from the gefu prefecture which is nearby yeah two pieces of A5 rank wagu beef sushi for

Only 600 Yen I can’t believe it and we got the Wasabi flavor you could also choose Ginger or garlic we thought maybe Wasabi would compliment the beef the best yay oh my gosh I’m so sorry there’s a cat here hello hello hi hi cutie pie hello hello you’re so

Cute M that is very beefy tender as well and the Wasabi perfect compliment to the beef flavor I have to say it’s different from Kobe beef it’s not as fatty as kobby beef but I like that I think that’s what I like about this particular beef M that is is

Delicious a you’re so cute oh he or she want to eat you hungry aren’t you oh you’re so cute K area is located in guu prefecture guu prefecture is next of II prefecture and we are going to go to guu prefecture next month in March it means

Um we are going to go to takayama and shakago so stay tuned so far we are loving inuyama it’s definitely I think a Hidden Gem lots of street food much more than we expected the architecture is beautiful here and once again so much quieter than asakusa or kaag for that

Matter so this street is very interesting and not only the main street there’s a lots of Ali here is one of them and you can see here is a Observatory let’s go second floor Observatory from this Observatory you’re supposed to be able to see the castle oh

Can you see the castle is where is the castle where’s the castle over there I don’t see the castle where is the castle where is the castle I see rooftops okay maybe here I think this is a place oh yes yes yes yes now I can see

The castle over there oh oh oh there it is it’s so small so we found this Dango it’s very cute Dango fromi s it’s nicely grilled soy sauce GMA Dango the aroma is really good it’s like a a good soy sauce rice cracker ARA the shape is cute and nicely

Grilled Char grilled Mark is so beautiful Oh I thought it’s more like chewy but outside is Grill and a little bit Sako and inside is very soft smooth Moi outside is dango inside is moi it’s like a combination than soy sauce spilled on my chin wow

That is one juic dang I got say walking along this Su we found there are many many stick food shop like this and this one is from jya OK rice sticks and jya is a p vegetable shop in this area this daon radish is very famous it is called

Moriguchi daon this this one is called Mori this isoki soy sauce taste this is solid rice Dango it’s like a mold rice on a smaller size and it’s grilled with soy sauce I want to eat this it’s matches with this gred soy sauce taste I got a different one this

One is a sweet chili mayo grilled rice bar on a stick with pickle yum it’s GR fill with soy sauce but then on top of that they put like a sweet chili sauce it doesn’t really have spice though and then the Mayo which adds more

Flavor I me let me have a bite of that that pickle this pickle reminds me of naruk from Nara so yeah kind of sweet it’s very different from like uh your your typical takuan skono it has a a different flavor it’s very deep rich I think saltier than

Takan not as sweet sweet in a different way I don’t know how to describe it but I’m a huge fan of um nuk oh my God such a great idea and this is so good wow this place also has a ceramic called inuyama Yaki and you guys know how much

I love Ceramics and it’s really beautiful So IND Castle is located on the mountain have to go up to the Steep here steep slope yeah but yes I we we came here yes we did So Pro tip here make sure you get some good sleep before you come here the night before make sure you get some sleep

Because you’re going be climbing some seep stairs so we came to the inside of the castle and behind me it’s a main keep Watchtower it’s called the tensu Kaku it’s the oldest T Kaku in Japan yes and it is freaking hot it is so hot today it’s still February today it’s very

Hot incredibly steep yeah it’s incredibly steep yes be careful please careful so because it’s the original Castle uh there are no elevators or escalators of any kind so you really have to be careful the stairs are quite steep uh on the second floor there is a

Small little it’s not a museum but like an exhibition showing you a little bit of the history of the castle okay one more flight upstairs one more flight over there so we came to the the top of this T shukaku oh wow the view is so

Nice the right side it’s the river I think it’s kiso gawa K River and this is a city of inama and the side there are there is a mountains and she need to hit his leg Yeah I heard my knee on the stairs oh oh and over there that you can

See a buildings some buildings to buildings that’s Nagoya City Center of Nagoya oh that’s beautiful the this Castle is located the B river that means this area is a natural boot I think about 500 years ago 500 years yeah about the same age as me but this is important

To say I think the stairs are very steep like the last final stairs are incredibly steep going up and coming down is equally scary and so if you’re a bit unstable um on your feet I don’t recommend you go up the stairs I mean you can you can see the castle from down

Here I that’s fine because I don’t want any of you guys to get hurt that’s one tip yeah the the most beautiful thing is this appearance yes yes yes yes yes yes yes okay so as promised last thing we’re going to do is going to eat something

Sweet we’re here at CoCo Tomo Farm they actually have several stores in this area this is their main branch I think and they are famous for their bin glutenfree actually o glutenfree bin yes we bought Bim it’s on the stick T it’s so cute it’s dhuma and Cherry Blom this

Is glutenfree bamu they are using inuyama rice the local ricean it’s very for me it’s fluffy soft texture airly texture which I like the chocolate part is aroma I love this B texture because it is similar to castella a little bit Sim C and I decided to get the white rice balen so

This one is simpler you know they make all their bomken cakes right here in the store you can see the layers of this bomken cake and this one is a little bit harder this is called the hard bom kuhin so it’s a little firmer than the soft

One they have two types the soft and the hard look at the layers here look at all the layers m m I really like the bongu hin here I’m not like the biggest fan of bongu hin cuz sometimes I feel it’s too dry but this one’s very moist is it because it’s

Gluten-free I have no idea the outside there’s like a layer a very thin layer of like sugar so it adds a nice sweetness to it m that good I really like this now I realized the aroma is lemon this say lemon chocolate [Applause] The other thing I love about this street here showa alley is the fact that there are many places to sit like this little Park here this cozy little Park just in the middle of the street and there are other places to sit a lot of benches

Where we can sit and eat you know if you go to asakusa for example it’s hard to eat your food you have to like eat it in front of the shop or there’s so many rules um many of the popular places are like that I think that’s the reason why

You should come I really enjoyed today I really did it’s new discovery for us yes yes yes yes and and many of the shops today were closed it’s a it’s a Tuesday so maybe lot of the stores are closed on Tuesdays I don’t know but I can imagine

If you know more shops are open it’ll be a a bit more crowded but you know still I hear that this place never gets that crowded maybe during the festival season it’s crowded but other than that it’s pretty you know easy to walk around and this place it’s very easy to come only

30 minutes from nagya station y so when you go to shirakawago or when you came back from shirakawago or if you uh decide to go to ji Park ji Park yes uh this is this place is a one good Excursion place for one day to repair

Yeah you only really need about a couple of hours I mean you know it’s only been 2 hours you know since we arrived here um you could you know take it at a more leisurely Place uh Pace maybe 3 hours 4 hours but you really don’t need that

Much time and like like Satoshi said you know it’s very very convenient to the city so thanks so much for watching guys hope you enjoyed this one as always please let us know your thoughts in the comments down below give us a like And subscribe for more videos like this one

  1. I love the vibe of this video with views of the beautiful castle and the music you selected to accompany the video. Thank you for the peaceful feeling.

  2. Wonderful video as always!

This was pretty much just like my visit to Inuyama in November. It took every bit of will-power to not stop and eat everything at all the vendors.

However, unlike your Tuesday visit, I visited on a Saturday and it was very busy everywhere; it took nearly 30 minutes total from entering the queue until reaching the top of the castle. You weren't kidding about the steep stairs in the castle. They could be especially treacherous if your socks are smooth and don't provide any traction.

  3. I really enjoyed this video. More of this please! It looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves there. That castle was amazing! And the view! 🙂

  4. WOW the okoge kushi looks amazing!! and what a beautiful view from the top of the castle. thank you so much for sharing these experiences with us 🙂

  5. You're both looking well and happy. This place looks nice and with so many food options. I'd want to try everything.
    The castle was lovely.🏯😊

  6. I am in Thailand until the end of March. I am not online as often. But Great video. I love both savoury and sweet types of Dango.

  7. Had the best Hida beef at the morning market in Takayama. It was only ¥500 for 2 grilled pieces. It was so soft and tender. A group of Germans saw us eating it and swarmed the poor vendor who was not expecting such a rush.😅

  8. You guys make me so happy when I watch your videos. Thank you so much for all of your content. ❤❤❤

  9. I strongly concur with the comments about the stairs. I visited Inuyama Castle and Hikone Castle, and the stairs are closer to ladders with steps than they are stairs because of how steep they are. I was scared going up and down because of how easy it would be to sleep. I gripped the handrails and used that to ease my way down. The views from the top were beautiful, but the wrap-around balcony guardrail were quite short, so if you have fear of heights, it can be scary.

  10. Inuyama is the type of town that draws me in. Beautiful, traditional architecture, a castle with lovely views, lots of good food, region-specific ceramics, and peace and quiet. Plus, the little calico girl really tugged at my heartstrings–she loved your petting, Shinichi. Thank you for taking us with you to this hidden gem! 💜💜

  11. So glad you went to Inuyama. I used to live in the nearby Nagoya suburb of Komaki for several years. Inuyama was only a 15 minute train ride away. It's only busy when there are festivals. Otherwise, very pleasant and easily accessible.
