Comments on the stream where Nina talked about her genmates not including her in voice calls at first. Or: Idiots wish for “3thyria”, and the monkey’s paw curls.

Really show how vile and toxic NIJISANJI, and if we going to stretch it, vtubing fan community is. But I think it is because a minority that is the loudest. Cuz normal, morally sound, mentally stable people wont go out their way to insult people or being like that.
Edit: My mentioning of the vtubing fan community is because I dont wanna be like NIJISANJI EVIL BAD TRASH (well they are but still).
cheseysticks
yea matara kan mentioned that there was a time where her fans were being hated for supporting nina kosaka or buying merch of her
im glad she’s in a better agency now

I was inspired to post this by False’s video recently, even though I saw the clip he used when it aired live on Christmas.
I only got into Vtubing in the summer of 2023, so right as I was getting into Nijisanji, I heard news of Nina’s graduation. Not wanting to get too attached to her, I never watched one of her streams live.
And I was shocked to later learn about the hate she received. How could such a lovely woman be so vilified?
It seems like it was a variety of factors:
In this particular case, Reimu, Enna, and Millie already knew each other before joining the company. Enna and Millie were best friends, in fact. Although the most i can find about Reimu’s history with them is a comment by her PL on one of Enna’s PL song covers. They were all “traditional” vtubers with a focus on singing, streaming on YouTube. Also, all introverts.
Nina was originally a fleshtuber on Twitch that decided to get a Vtuber model but changed nothing else about her streaming style. And the only Vtubers I’ve seen her interact with at the time were other Twitch indie vtubers. She had no history with singing. In short, she was an outsider. And an extrovert.
So, when [Nina brought up how the other girls were leaving her out of voice calls at first](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzkZlqbVGoU&t=2876s), you can kind of understand why they might take a while to warm up to her at first.
HOWEVER. By this point (more than a year ago now), they seemed to have patched things up, and appeared to still be friends after her graduation. However, the events following Selen’s termination may have affected things, or they may have not. Only Matara can tell us, and she’s definitely aware that anything she says can and will be used to attack her and/or her friends, so I expect her to keep her mouth shut for a while.
More to come:
Association with Luxiem, and the wrath of the unicorns: From what I understand, Luxiem basically caused an explosion in popularity of male vtubers in the west. None of the other waves were ever as successful as Luxiem, but this wasn’t a certainty at first. Nina went out of her way to promote them before their debut and collab with them afterwards. Then, as Luxiem began attracting a bunch of… not great people, people started accusing her of leeching off of Luxiem’s popularity. Especially since Ethyria was originally considered to be a “flop wave”, as their statistics were initially substantially worse than Lazulight and Obsydia, and a LOT worse than Luxiem. She continued to promote and collab with Noctyx as well.
“Problematic” statements: Some idiots put together either a google doc or a pastebin containing a bunch of statements of hers, intended to paint her in a bad light. Most of these were either just good natured ribbing between friends or a few times where she just didn’t read the room properly, but the people who weren’t familiar with her who saw the document didn’t see it that way. This list spread to tiktok where she got a LOT of hate there in particular. The scars of this document still remain, as Nina began prefacing her jokes and jabs with disclaimers. Matara Kan continues to still do this sometimes to this day.
With all this in mind, and the fact that people were also attacking her fans for this, it’s easy to see why she left. This wasn’t the only factor though. Burnout, probably the worst case of imposter syndrome among all the ex-members, and a desire for freedom all also played a key role.
The thing I want you to take away from this is that you shouldn’t be like the people in this screenshot. They attacked her with incomplete information despite not even watching her in most cases.
By all means, don’t buy merch, cancel your memberships, and stop watching, but don’t continue the cycle of hate like this. What if they’re innocent too?
And if that doesn’t convince you, ask yourself this: What would Matara think if she saw what I’m about to post?
Cistmist
As someone who only knew Nina from big collabs (since that’s the only content I watched in NijiEN), I didn’t have a good opinion of her since she used to always show up drunk and leave midstream.
Anyway, I’m glad she’s happy where she is now and wish her the best in her new life.
YuzuCat
I really don’t feel bad for the Niji fans at this point, they are part of the problem.
As a toxic fan said about Zaion during her termination ON THIS SUBREDDIT, “You get what you deserve”.

So am I to understand that Nina basically just said “early on I felt like the others were leaving me out” and she got this level of hate?
I only heard of Nina around graduation because I’ve never really followed Niji, but this is nuts.
sleepysloppy
Yep, this just confirms it NijiSanji fans are part of the problem.
Lets return the trending of #SINKTHEYATCH

Damn, I never really there was that much hate at the time for Nina, never really noticed it. Guess it’s sorta switched around now.
ProudConcern7207
I’m simply happy that Matara found a place she is happy and feel supported and that her community now feels safer. I hope she one day bests her old numbers across platforms. At this point, I’m all about people finding places to thrive and healthier working environments, even if it means leaving (especially for safety and health).
Regis-bloodlust
Isn’t it just crazy how many red flags there are in this goddamn branch?
Just from Zaion, Nina, and Selen, that already covers red flag stories about Finana, Kotoka, Meloco, Enna, Millie, Reimu, Elira, Vox, Ike.
And then there’s whole separate issue going on about Uki and Wilson.
And then there’s Pomu, Nina, Selen vs Management issues.
That’s like half of the entire branch, and that’s merely the tip of the iceberg that we can see. This company is fucked up.
Crouza
That’s goddamn heinous behavior. I’m glad she’s streaming with a group where fans actually support you instead of trying to tear you down.
Al-the-mann
In reality Nina was the best of them. The rest ain’t shit without Ninur
PhantomOverlordx2
Thank the lord she’s in a better place now.
GardenOfTheBlackRose
What is wrong with them?
SoraKey206
This is what happen if the clique existed. U either sign up to be their underling. Or they will make u look so bad that everyone gonna be against u. Since they are in group, it’s more convincing to believe them than believe a single person.
But hey, at least Karma is a bitch and she is much happier now
Rezkel
Damn that really put into perspective what Mata was saying about people who supported her PL.
NCDERP22
Yeah i remember at one point in of the first Ark collabs were things got really really tense between Nina and the other girls ,I was thinking Nina was being a total bitch to the rest of the ethirya members, now that we know her personal feelings being in niji I feel very stupid for ever thinking Nina was being the bad member of the whole group, it paints enna, millie and to some extent reimu to be very very different than what they paint themselves to be…
weebkingcall
Bro I am fr curious as to why Nijifans are like this.
But why do I need to figure it out when the phrase “chat (fans) reflect the streamer” explains it for me.
one_frisk
It’s the same with JP nijifans reaction towards Selen termination. It’s not Japanese culture problem. It’s nijifans problem.
ABardToRemember
It is surprising to me how much hate she got. I was casual viewer of her streams and I really enjoyed her content the few times I popped in. It usually pretty chill and laid back streams, at least for the ones I watched. Sad to see that she was attacked by Niji fans because she spoke out about the being excluded.
Neoncarbon
It’s seemed like Nijisanji was always cliquey and hyper-competitive with each other, in hindsight. Such a different feeling from the good vibes in the other major company.
Castillosaurio
Im so happy she left that shit hole
ch_xiaoya_ng
Nijisisters never fail to disgust me
Doc_N_I_G_G_A_MD
Fuck niji and all that, but you guys know matara follows Reimu on her PL account, right? She’s even replied to her a couple of times. Also, she was in the background of a few of the other etherya member’s steams after she left?
Edit: I misread the intent of the post. Nijisisters are delusional to a sickening extent, I’m happy she’s in a better place.
No-Side8104
I still remember how a bunch of Tiktok video framed her as this some sort of problematic individual who likes to breach on people’s privacy just because. I think one notable clip i remembered is her talking to Kyo i think? About creating a harem with Ren or something. Which is like… Not a problem?
But everyone insinuate that she’s making him uncomfortable or something. It’s absolutely unbearable. Toxic fan base deserves toxic company
