知床半島で流氷を楽しむ方法は、大きく分けて2つあります。
1つは、流氷観光船に乗船することです。流氷観光船に乗って、海上から間近に流氷を眺めることができます。また、運が良ければゴマフアザラシやオジロワシなどの野生動物を見ることができるかもしれません。
2つ目は、海岸から流氷を眺めることです。知床半島には、オシンコシンの滝やプユニ岬など、流氷を眺めることができる絶景スポットが数多くあります。海岸から眺める流氷は、海上から眺める流氷とはまた違った迫力があります。
流氷は、毎年2月中旬から3月下旬頃まで見ることができます。ただし、天候や海況によって流氷の状況は変化するため、事前に情報を確認しておくことをお勧めします。

The appeal of drift ice is its overwhelming scale. The endless white ice floes make you feel like you are in another world. Another attraction is that you can observe wild animals such as harbor seals and white-tailed eagles that live on the drift ice.
There are two main ways to enjoy drift ice on the Shiretoko Peninsula.
One is to board a drift ice sightseeing boat. You can get a close-up view of drift ice from the sea on a drift ice sightseeing boat. Also, if you’re lucky, you might be able to see wild animals such as harbor seals and white-tailed eagles.
The second is to view the drift ice from the coast. The Shiretoko Peninsula has many scenic spots where you can view drift ice, such as Oshinkoshin Falls and Cape Puyuni. Drift ice seen from the coast has a different impact than that seen from the sea.
Drift ice can be seen from mid-February to late March every year. However, the drift ice conditions change depending on the weather and sea conditions, so we recommend checking the information in advance.
