Music We Use: http://bit.ly/SamAudreyMusic

Hello and greetings from kanazawa City of gishaĀ  districts Samurai neighborhoods and ninja templesĀ Ā  this was the next stop of our trip across JapanĀ  and we planned quite a varied itinerary in thisĀ Ā  video weā€™ll be visiting kenrokuen Garden whichĀ  is considered one of the most beautiful gardensĀ Ā

In all of Japan weā€™ll wander the nagamachiĀ  district where weā€™ll visit tea houses andĀ Ā  former Samurai homes weā€™ll visit a ninja weaponĀ  Museum and try our hand at throwing stars plusĀ Ā  weā€™ll dive into the local Cuisine of featuringĀ  kazawa Curry traditional Japanese desserts andĀ Ā

Even some International flavors the followingĀ  is our kanazawa travel guide in japan first upĀ Ā  we visited omicho Market kanazawa largest freshĀ  food market dating back to the Ado period theĀ Ā  market is nicknamed kanazawa kitchen and it isĀ  home to some 200 stalls that mainly sell seafoodĀ Ā

Though you can also find vegetable vendors flowerĀ  shops and even clothing stores Omicho Market isĀ Ā  busy during the morning hours as well as lunchtimeĀ  thanks to the numerous SE food restaurants locatedĀ Ā  in and around the market however our struggleĀ  was finding a place to eat so guys we came toĀ Ā

The seafood market here we are with Sam um it isĀ  a very busy busy Market on a Monday yes itā€™s aĀ Ā  holiday so everyoneā€™s got the day off and I thinkĀ  everyone decided to come here oh yes so okay weā€™veĀ Ā

Learned that the the seafood market part is onĀ  the first floor they also have restaurants onĀ Ā  the first floor but they have more restaurants onĀ  the second floor if you can find the elevator inĀ Ā

This Maze of lanes we we had some places quotingĀ  us for like a 2hour waiting time so weā€™re likeĀ Ā  no we donā€™t have the patience for that so weā€™reĀ  just trying to scale out a place thatā€™s availableĀ Ā

Where we can maybe try some sushi it is a seafoodĀ  market so weā€™ll see what we can do here yes wishĀ Ā  us Lu we shall see adapt overcome and evolveĀ  those are the three words that come to mindĀ Ā

At the moment the seafood market is fascinatingĀ  a thereā€™s a lot of really great restaurants itĀ Ā  seems to have seafood here itā€™s just the problemĀ  is like weā€™ve alluded to weā€™re here on a holidayĀ Ā

Weā€™re here at noon and itā€™s just backed to theĀ  point of of of no return we tried to escape theĀ Ā  madness on the first floor went up to the secondĀ  floor itā€™s also busy here so what weā€™ve decidedĀ Ā

To do is we found a a little bit more of a holeĀ  in thewall place a Chinese restaurant here thatĀ Ā  serves dim sum and different kinds some Ramen andĀ  other other dishes and we found some really niceĀ Ā

Affordable prices and weā€™ve decided to haveĀ  lunch here thatā€™s what weā€™re going to do I amĀ Ā  happy with this plan yeah me too Iā€™m so excitedĀ  about my set this is uh the assorted DM some setĀ Ā

And thereā€™s a spring roll here crispy springĀ  roll this is going to be my dessert a sesameĀ Ā  Bowl likely with red bean paste or ores yeahĀ  black sesame comes with a soup as well an eggĀ Ā  soup very colorful assortment of dim suum hereĀ  we have the the shrimp one and then spinach umĀ Ā

This looks like pork not sure what this one isĀ  here could be meat and um I think that one wasĀ Ā  sash yeah and then over here one of my favoritesĀ  Iā€™m going to open this one up the Lotus Leaf theĀ Ā

Lotus leaf look at that steam coming off oh yumĀ  so good Iā€™m going to try start with that thatā€™s chicken totally delicious oh that tenderĀ  chicken really nice savory sauce letā€™s try spinach spinach on their own side shrimp inĀ  the whe very tasty thatā€™s a nice surpriseĀ Ā

Very nice surprise this is what I gotĀ  the peanut noodles I tried the brothĀ Ā  already itā€™s so good going to add some ofĀ  this spice and our little dumplings hereĀ Ā  okay well Iā€™m going to try the noodlesĀ  guys Iā€™m going to try and detangle them

Even smell good from over here mhm howĀ  are they so nice and nutty Iā€™m goingĀ Ā  to add a bit of the spice thoughĀ  to give it some thatā€™s a specialĀ Ā  handmade spice they were telling us yeahĀ  they make the spice here so put that inĀ Ā

There letā€™s try it I do like spice notĀ  scared of the spice no neither of us are ooh thereā€™s that broth look at that canā€™tĀ  waited wait to try it too how are your dumplingsĀ Ā

Delicious oh I havenā€™t even tried that yet Iā€™llĀ  dip it in the spice as well why not why not ohĀ Ā  look at that filled with greens Iā€™m like aboutĀ  to C about to cry too much spice the fierinessĀ Ā

But overall great huh yeah this has been suchĀ  a nice surprise yeah honestly itā€™s just like aĀ Ā  local little family spot all the food is homemadeĀ  and the owner was telling us that itā€™s known toĀ Ā  locals but tourists donā€™t really come here andĀ  the food is so good so you definitely should yeahĀ Ā

They were the once put in the Lonely Planet as aĀ  off the beaten path place so thatā€™s kind of coolĀ Ā  too that lovely place is called Sentou MandarinĀ  Restaurant ā€“ čæ‘ę±Ÿē”ŗęµ·é®®äøčÆ ä»™ę”ƒ and itā€™s Chinese MandarinĀ Ā  food it was amazing like we we just had zeroĀ  expectations after we couldnā€™t get Seafood weĀ Ā

Were kind of like grumpy little distraught we wereĀ  a little grumpy weā€™re like oh we walked all theĀ Ā  way here weā€™re not going to eating what we wereĀ  supposed to kind of like when you miss your targetĀ Ā

Yes and U but that that totally redeemed the theĀ  afternoon and it was just great very friendlyĀ Ā  service yes uh the owner speaks English and justĀ  kept coming over and it just was so kind and so weĀ Ā

Not only enjoyed the food but we also enjoyedĀ  uh you know just the the service and the theĀ Ā  hospitality I suppose you can say yeah and againĀ  the food was amazing like Iā€™m still in love withĀ Ā

Those peanut noodles I was not expecting to haveĀ  that today yeah and I mean I tried some of Samā€™sĀ Ā  dumplings and the the dim sum was just great soĀ  would highly highly recommend itā€™s in the secondĀ Ā

Floor yeah down a little side alley but um Iā€™mĀ  sure you can find it we weā€™ll try to leave some details okay so we are now standing in frontĀ  of Tsuzumimon Gate gate this is anotherĀ Ā  attraction not to be missed as soon as youĀ  arrive in kanazawa particularly if youā€™reĀ Ā

Coming by train because this gate right hereĀ  is right outside kanazawa station and itā€™sĀ Ā  basically this very ornate gate that greets youĀ  and itā€™s meant to resemble traditional JapaneseĀ Ā  drums so thatā€™s why the name but check thatĀ  out now thatā€™s one piece of architecture right

There did you believe weā€™re in a train stationĀ  right now I know this is a very cool stationĀ Ā  just full of cont full of contrast this isĀ  in the bottom section we took an interestingĀ Ā  escalator this whole train station is fascinatingĀ  we just learned a little bit more about the kindĀ Ā

Of contrast that they were hoping to build soĀ  the outside gate is supposed to be of courseĀ Ā  the traditional part which then connects withĀ  the the futuristic part of the station so itā€™sĀ Ā  a blend of tradition and modernity just likeĀ  this also even with this Garden like youā€™ve gotĀ Ā

This little zenik space here and then just lots ofĀ  gray lots of smooth concrete yeah itā€™s just suchĀ Ā  a fascinating train station and it just goes toĀ  show you that you can make a a Transportation HubĀ Ā

Into into an attraction in and of itself okayĀ  so for todayā€™s lunch we have ordered set mealsĀ Ā  because thatā€™s the specialty of this isaka yeahĀ  so this isaka again is right in the train stationĀ Ā

Area they have great specials we decided to go forĀ  the complete sets so Iā€™m getting uh like a breadedĀ Ā  chicken with mayonnaise and some looks like aĀ  glaze on top and then over here it comes withĀ Ā

Miso soup it comes with apparently some meat andĀ  some vegetables and a generous bowl of rice yesĀ Ā  the bowls of rice are actually quite large at thisĀ  place is a really good portion and the one thingĀ Ā

Weā€™re sharing is the Sashimi here in kazawa weā€™reĀ  by the coast and the specialty is seafood and theĀ Ā  cool thing about the Sashimi is that it comes likeĀ  on a little bed of of crushed ice to keep the fishĀ Ā

Nice and cool really nice presentation some lemonĀ  and of course Wasabi so would you like to try thatĀ Ā  next that looks like a nice piece of tuna rightĀ  there check that out guys big and plump Iā€™m justĀ Ā

Going to go Direct Direct in the mouth no soyĀ  sauce this time around M nothing like SashimiĀ Ā  oh my gosh thatā€™s so good I could just have a anĀ  entire meal of that anyway itā€™s really tasty foodĀ Ā

And just a nice cozy environment here compared toĀ  other is a a little bit more space all itā€™s a niceĀ Ā  seating arrangement and itā€™s overall a reallyĀ  good place to have lunch yeah weā€™ve got likeĀ Ā

Our own little Al Cove I would call it y feelsĀ  quite private and then this is my meal Iā€™ve gotĀ Ā  some shredded cabbage with some strips of beef aĀ  sweet beef and then an omelette on top with BonitoĀ Ā

Flakes hereā€™s another little side dish this looksĀ  like some pork the Miso soup pickled radish andĀ Ā  greens and of course the bowl of rice so I wouldĀ  say thatā€™s quite a substantial lunch weā€™re havingĀ Ā  today it is this kind of itā€™s Itā€™s reminiscentĀ  of bulgogi no it reminds me of the Korean yeahĀ Ā

Thin strips of beef and it has a bit of a sweetĀ  sauce looks a bit like okonomiyaki too yeah likeĀ Ā  this assembled kiaki thatā€™s what it was labeledĀ  as oh on the menu theyā€™re so tender so tender huhĀ Ā

Also miso it wouldnā€™t be a proper meal withoutĀ  our little bowl of miso here so yeah thatā€™s veryĀ Ā  good I think this is going to give us our energyĀ  so we can spend a few hours out and about sseeingĀ Ā

Fortify us and maybe Iā€™ll try a piece of yourĀ  chicken cuz it looks so so nice you like itĀ Ā  very juicy very tender and I love the the crispyĀ  exterior yep exactly thatā€™s how I felt too niceĀ Ā

Sauce too M all righty price point for that isakaĀ  meal itā€™s raining outside guys yeah so incredibleĀ Ā  value 2400 Yen that included everything the twoĀ  sets and the sashimi and we are leaving very fullĀ Ā  very satisfied that was overall a really goodĀ  meal whatā€™s kind of nice about their lunch menuĀ Ā

Itā€™s a little bit more limited in terms of itsĀ  options but the food was delivered really fastĀ Ā  so if youā€™re looking for like kind of a quickĀ  tasty meal I canā€™t think of a better place thatĀ Ā

Was perfect yeah we got there at like 11:30 asĀ  soon as they opened and it wasnā€™t busy at allĀ Ā  half an hour later all the office workers are inĀ  there yeah so come come a bit early maybe thatā€™s a tip doys

So this is where people write their wishes andĀ  theyā€™re just so cute look at these little dogsĀ Ā  and then you also have Sakura in different colorsĀ  weā€™ve just arrived at Myoryuji Ninja Temple hereĀ Ā  in kanazawa now whatā€™s interesting about thisĀ  Temple is that itā€™s often nicknamed The MyoryujiĀ Ā

Ninja Temple because itā€™s got like lots of littleĀ  corridors and itā€™s a bit of a maze inside itā€™sĀ Ā  meant to confuse you and trick you um and you canĀ  do guided tours now we just got here we didnā€™tĀ Ā

Realize youā€™re supposed to make a reservation andĀ  get a time slot in order to go in so as you canĀ Ā  see thereā€™s a big group behind us slowly going inĀ  now itā€™s 1200 yen per person to tour the interiorĀ Ā

But now the tricky part is youā€™re not allowedĀ  to take any photos any videos you canā€™t useĀ Ā  your phone while youā€™re there so as interesting asĀ  it sounds and Iā€™d love to be able to take you inĀ Ā

And show you the interior of the Ninja Temple itā€™sĀ  just not allowed so if you find yourself travelingĀ Ā  here in kazawa this is one of the attractionsĀ  that you can check out just make sure you makeĀ Ā

A reservation and you arrive on time uh for yourĀ  time slot because otherwise they give your spot away now venturing into the Nishi chaa DistrictĀ  next we visited the Nishi Chaya DistrictĀ Ā  chaya literally means tea house and itā€™sĀ  a type of establishment where gas wouldĀ Ā

Entertain guests with song and dance kazawa hasĀ  three well-preserved gisha districts across theĀ Ā  city and this one is considered one ofĀ  the quieter districts we first visitedĀ Ā  the kanazawa Nishi Chaya Museum on theĀ  second floor of the museum you can seeĀ Ā

A Recreation of a tea room where geisha wouldĀ  entertain guests the museum is very small andĀ Ā  the information is only in JapaneseĀ  so you can decide if itā€™s worth your while space okay okay you trying ninja stars thisĀ  is going to be fun throwing the ninja stars we gotĀ Ā

Five throws nice okay okay s you you get presentĀ  oh this oh more present okay so uh throw hard orĀ Ā  throw hard throw hard yes okay okay letā€™s goĀ  fighting letā€™s go okay fighting good luck okay

Oh oh no oh out of five at least I hit the targetĀ  okay so we just finished visiting the Ninja WeaponĀ Ā  Museum I got to live up my inner ninja experienceĀ  by throwing ninja stars five of them now I hitĀ Ā

The target each time but only two of them stuckĀ  and I didnā€™t quite hit the bullseye if I hit theĀ Ā  bullseye I would have got a prize but it was soĀ  much fun yeah so it was really cool seeing allĀ Ā

The weapons on display now again we arenā€™t havingĀ  much luck today um because youā€™re not allowed toĀ Ā  film inside that museum either so I was able toĀ  show you the experience of throwing stars butĀ Ā  once you go up to the second floor to see theĀ  weapons youā€™re only allowed to take photos youĀ Ā

Also get a little booklet with the explanationĀ  of each weapon and how it would have been usedĀ Ā  super interesting if youā€™re in the area if youā€™reĀ  in this District this is one of those attractionsĀ Ā  worth checking out the sky was getting darkĀ  and threatening of rain so we then decided toĀ Ā

Pop into a tea house this place is called theĀ  Amanatto Kawamura Tea House ā€“ ē”˜ē“č±†ć‹ć‚ć‚€ć‚‰ and theyĀ Ā  do Japanese sweets with a bit of a modern twistĀ  it was quite the experience okay so we decidedĀ Ā

To visit a tea house and Iā€™m so impressed withĀ  the presentation of this I got the Warabi MochiĀ Ā  which is one of my favorite types of Mochi itā€™sĀ  like jelly like gelatinous like you can see asĀ Ā

I pick it up it just Jiggles and moves aroundĀ  love the powder on it so Iā€™m going to try that first careful not to choke on that powder I got itĀ  as a set with the drink so Iā€™ve ordered a matchaĀ Ā

And this is a syrup to add into the matchaĀ  Iā€™m going to just add half and see how thatĀ Ā  tastes yeah and then milk so once I finish theĀ  Wabi Mochi weā€™re going to add the powder and IĀ Ā

Have black honey so I feel like a little scientistĀ  here you get to in your little laboratory yes myĀ Ā  tray is my laboratory look at that so Iā€™m goingĀ  to taste in looks very concentrated o is thatĀ Ā

Nice oh thatā€™s good Iā€™m going to put the rest ofĀ  the sugar in there for Sam set some ginger lemonĀ Ā  soda I got a complete beant tasting set with someĀ  ice cream and beans too letā€™s try the soda firstĀ Ā

Oh yeah oh friends that has some serious GingerĀ  bite to it m i love it and the neat thing aboutĀ Ā  this tasting set is there is a guide to it hereĀ  you can see that I have s bean paste green soyĀ Ā

Beans bazooki all kinds who would have thoughtĀ  beans for dessert but here we are I I do likeĀ Ā  yeah I do like my beans my Zuki beans and thoseĀ  like steam buns Iā€™m just going to try them thisĀ Ā

One I think is actually the pecan nut so Iā€™mĀ  very excited to have that check that up theyveĀ Ā  giv you a little stick yeah itā€™s been coated inĀ  a nice glaze of sugar softer texture than whatĀ Ā  you would imagine and whatā€™s interesting theyĀ  also have a daily special the lady said todayĀ Ā

Thereā€™s white Sesame and matcha those littleĀ  jellies there going to try white Sesame SesameĀ Ā  then you also have a sweet potato oh thatā€™s niceĀ  and sweet but in the Japanese subtle way sweet potato yeah dessert is very differentĀ  around these hurs but I do like it mĀ Ā

And the last but not least letā€™sĀ  try the ice cream show you guysĀ Ā  that course Iā€™m going to grab a sliceĀ  of The Bean too beans and ice cream okay oh thatā€™s the best part of allĀ  and go so out the beans who wouldĀ Ā

Have thought yeah who would haveĀ  thought but Iā€™m enjoying this veryĀ Ā  much this is itā€™s just a nice littleĀ  beautiful delicate treat I would say interesting nutty all righty we are undercoverĀ  because it has started raining again again uh weĀ Ā

Wanted to do a quick price point for that JapaneseĀ  tea set it all came to 3,800 which I think isĀ Ā  more than weā€™ve spent on food yeah weā€™ve weā€™veĀ  actually been having a lot of budget meals inĀ Ā

This city so thatā€™s the most expensive one weā€™veĀ  had but it was very distinct very unique and justĀ Ā  some nice beautiful delicate treats really yesĀ  it was all delicate and elegant and subtle andĀ Ā  exactly what youā€™d expect from Japanese dessertsĀ  so yeah that was really nice I really enjoyed itĀ Ā

And now you have an idea of what kind of dessertsĀ  you can have in Japan lots of beans on your plateĀ Ā  yeah feel like beans youā€™re youā€™re in for a treatĀ  thatā€™s for sure all righty windy morning here atĀ Ā

The Kenrokuen Garden it sure is and weā€™re here toĀ  do the two most famous things in the city weā€™reĀ Ā  going to Kenrokuen Garden and weā€™re also going toĀ  Castle Park as well so we got the combined ticketĀ Ā

Um 500 yen each y pretty good deal if you ask meĀ  and uh we just arrived inside of the park itā€™sĀ Ā  a nice beautiful sun day it had been rainingĀ  for a while so nice to have good weather andĀ Ā

We got the breeze to cool us down I canā€™t wait toĀ  walk around and explore both of these uh popularĀ Ā  attractions here Kenrokuen Garden is kanazawaĀ  top attraction and itā€™s also considered one ofĀ Ā  Japanā€™s three most beautiful landscape Gardens theĀ  gardens were developed from 1620 to 1840 so over aĀ Ā

Period of over 2 centuries as you can imagine thisĀ  place is a year- round attraction cherry blossomsĀ Ā  Autumn foliage covered in snow or looking likeĀ  BL and green in the summertime Garden ThoughtsĀ Ā  with Samuel thatā€™s quite the garden itā€™s veryĀ  big itā€™s very impressive itā€™s also very crowdedĀ Ā

Too yes youā€™re not going to be the only personĀ  here if youā€™re if youā€™re coming for a tranquilĀ Ā  escape this is not the place to go itā€™s stillĀ  beautiful what I really enjoyed was you a greatĀ Ā

Vantage point of the city and then thereā€™s alsoĀ  some different areas where we climbed up a littleĀ Ā  bit of some steps to a monument or a shrineĀ  and that gave us beautiful views of the parkĀ Ā

As well so some nice little side Trails streamsĀ  itā€™s one of those parks where you have to reallyĀ Ā  pay attention to notice all the details we thenĀ  walked over to kanazawa Castle Park to exploreĀ Ā  the grounds and visit the reconstructed castleĀ  kanazawa castle unfortunately burnt down severalĀ Ā

Times over the centuries so itā€™s only survived byĀ  two storehouses in the ishika mon gate we visitedĀ Ā  the reconstructed portion of the castle andĀ  if Iā€™m being honest it was a bit underwhelmingĀ Ā  after visiting some truly impressive castlesĀ  in Japan so I I would stick to exploring the

Park so we are now visiting kanazawa Castle ParkĀ  Iā€™ve got to admit Iā€™ve enjoyed the gardens a lotĀ Ā  more than I thought I would the gardens are justĀ  so vast and so beautiful and just done in so manyĀ Ā

Different styles so weā€™re kind of exploring theĀ  park working our way through this massive areaĀ Ā  and well we also had a ticket that gave us accessĀ  to part of the castle but honestly there are wayĀ Ā

More exciting castles in Japan and we have visitedĀ  a few of those so coming to this one itā€™s just youĀ Ā  know a little different because this Castle hasĀ  been completely renovated it just feels a lot moreĀ Ā

Modern a lot newer yeah so those are some thoughtsĀ  on the castle loving the park however he marching over oama Shrine is a Shinto ShrineĀ  located just outside kanazawa CastleĀ Ā  Park it features Gardens with ponds and bridges soĀ Ā  we enjoyed a little stroll through hereĀ  before continuing on to the nagamachi district

Well today is turning into a garden dayĀ  here we are at The Shrine and they haveĀ Ā  beautiful gardens once again yeah I think outĀ  of all the places we visited this has the mostĀ Ā  interesting walking path I love hopping over theĀ  stones thereā€™s a nice little walking bridge as

Well nagamachi is the former Samurai DistrictĀ  where Samurai and their families used to liveĀ Ā  itā€™s located at the foot of kanazawaĀ  Castle and itā€™s a nice neighborhoodĀ Ā  with stone streets Earth and walls smallĀ  canals and well preserved homes just toĀ Ā

Block down we visited nomura Samurai houseĀ  this is a restored Samurai residence thatĀ Ā  is open to the public as a museum inside thisĀ  home youā€™ll find Samurai looms Antiques and artifacts thereā€™s also a beautiful inner gardenĀ  with the pond Stepping Stones Bridges and theĀ Ā

Biggest koi fish youā€™ve ever seen the the onlyĀ  downside is that it was very crowded when we visited we ended our visit to the nagamachiĀ  district by going to a t- room just anotherĀ Ā  block down from the samurai house we found thisĀ  place completely by chance and it honestly feltĀ Ā

Like we were walking into a strangerā€™s homeĀ  the only led us to a little table overlookingĀ Ā  his garden and he also had a huge collection ofĀ  dolls many of them hundreds of years old thereĀ Ā

Was no menu here we were asked if matcha was okayĀ  and we got a delicious bowl of tea with a small dessert so highlight of our afternoon we just gotĀ  out of a tea house met the loveliest manĀ Ā

Ever we had such a a great conversation talkingĀ  about chestnuts and maple syrup and which is uhĀ Ā  which country has more beautiful scenery JapanĀ  or Canada and we concluded both countries tooĀ Ā  in different ways yeah so it was so nice um weĀ  went in there we had some ice cold matcha teaĀ Ā

Which was greatly needed this afternoon and thenĀ  we got some sweets it was like this green matchaĀ Ā  jelly and inside there was a chestnut pasteĀ  and it was like you know the perfect JapaneseĀ Ā  dessert so subtle soft flavors delicate and theĀ  man had a beautiful doll collection like this isĀ Ā

Quite the collection and the dolls are over 200Ā  years old yeah he was saying theyā€™re they theirĀ Ā  collectorā€™s items now M and even though there areĀ  still some dolls made theyā€™re not made in thatĀ Ā  style anymore so it makes them even more rare themĀ  beautifully displayed had a beautiful garden justĀ Ā

Great hospitality and just uh really it was the itĀ  was the most fun thing we did today Iā€™m glad thatĀ Ā  we found it and um yeah just a great experienceĀ  to be honest a great conversation as well so ifĀ Ā

Youā€™re in the area definitely check out his teaĀ  house uh there are no English signs there butĀ Ā  weā€™ll weā€™ll leave some kind of directions in theĀ  description of the video they invading the houseĀ Ā  but itā€™s probably the right one hopefully thenĀ  we found a curry restaurant for a late lunch weĀ Ā

Simply couldnā€™t leave the city without tryingĀ  kanazawa Curry this dish consists of a friedĀ Ā  pork cutlet and a curry that is very dark inĀ  color itā€™s served with a side of cabbage onĀ Ā  a stainless steel plate with a spork so rightĀ  here weā€™ve got the classic kanazawa Curry lookĀ Ā

At itā€™s a very special one you still have theĀ  breaded pork cup but whatā€™s unique about it isĀ Ā  that you have the Curry on top of the rice youĀ  canā€™t see it you cannot see nor itā€™s like itā€™sĀ Ā

Divided half half SE right half and half theĀ  other thing is it comes with cabbage so checkĀ Ā  that out so Iā€™m going to try first and CurryĀ  well look see you can see the rice underneathĀ Ā  there see letā€™s try some of that first itā€™sĀ  a very rich dark gravy thatā€™s the best thatā€™sĀ Ā

The best Curry Iā€™ve had in Japan ever thatā€™s soĀ  good that richness oh canā€™t wait to try the for Color Wow fza is delicious it was so worth comingĀ  here like this is so much better than the regularĀ Ā

I guess k poric k you would get in Japan youā€™reĀ  saying itā€™s better than cocoa Curry well cocoaĀ Ā  Curry is good but yeah this is better this isĀ  like this is like Gourmet this is so good M IĀ Ā

Love it and right here is my meal I think itā€™sĀ  called Hunton rice and basically itā€™s a friedĀ Ā  rice with ketchup check this out with an omeletteĀ  on top yeah thereā€™s my ketchup rice giant shrimpsĀ Ā  maybe shrimp that looks awesome going to digĀ  in Iā€™m using a spork spk yes spoon fork spoonĀ Ā

SL Fork I love the the old Diner feel hereĀ  too the pretty cool Iā€™m not a huge ketchupĀ Ā  girl so this is going to be interestingĀ  I also got like Curry gravy on the side yeah thatā€™s interesting ketchup andĀ  Curry and omelette and there a lotĀ Ā

Of flavors huh I think it works yeah I doĀ  think it works itā€™s a little bit sweeterĀ Ā  except the ketchup try your shrimpyĀ  huge oh at this ho wow I have a tailĀ Ā  on either end no one one sideā€™s got toĀ  be the head yeah RI B in half there we

Go that was that M delicious very I really wantĀ  to try that too thank you go ahead I going toĀ Ā  thatā€™s my next plight all righty just finishedĀ  our kanazawa Curry and ketchup rice that was 2500Ā Ā

Yen we are so full I I think I I speak for both ofĀ  us we are so stuffed that was yeah that we shouldĀ Ā  have spaced out our meals a bit more but that wasĀ  the best probably the best the best thing we hadĀ Ā

Here it was so good such a nice little hole in theĀ  wall place just feels like the focus is entirelyĀ Ā  on the food and I love a place like that your mealĀ  was really uh filling especially with the uh thoseĀ Ā

Giant breaded shrimps oh my gosh that reallyĀ  uh filled me up right to the brim and yours wasĀ Ā  really spicy I was surprised by the level of spiceĀ  with the kanazawa curry I felt like it had more ofĀ Ā

An Indian influence at least at this restaurantĀ  they they they brought they brought the richnessĀ Ā  and they brought the Heat and Iā€™m glad thatĀ  they did that was just an excellent meal in myĀ Ā  opinion you got to figure out a way to to includeĀ  kanazawa Curry into your itinerary if youā€™re hereĀ Ā

Highly recommend yes and 2500 Yen canā€™t rememberĀ  if I mentioned that already or not but thatā€™s theĀ Ā  price was so we are ending our day here at theĀ  kanazawa train station and bus terminal areaĀ Ā  actually and we wanted to share one final travelĀ  tip for moving around the city yes you can takeĀ Ā

The public buses but thereā€™s a specific bus forĀ  tourists that does a loop around the city hitsĀ Ā  up all the major attractions and itā€™s called TheĀ  kanazawa Loop bus the right Loop and the left LoopĀ Ā  yes so it goes clockwise and counterclockwiseĀ  depending on which direction you want to travelĀ Ā

In yeah and thatā€™s how weā€™ve been getting aroundĀ  yeah itā€™s 210 Yen for a single ticket which is aĀ Ā  very affordable good price and if you want toĀ  get a pass for the day 800 so you be if youā€™reĀ Ā

Doing four more rides then then thatā€™s the wayĀ  to go yeah but we found that uh it just beenĀ Ā  comes every 15 minutes itā€™s on time itā€™s efficientĀ  and itā€™ll take you to basically anywhere you wantĀ Ā

To go and um great way to save your legs for theĀ  actual attraction because the gardens the castleĀ Ā  the other places they require quite a bit ofĀ  walking so save your legs youā€™ll be walking LotsĀ Ā

Around here friends you will so yeah thatā€™s herĀ  little travel tip and we hope you find it helpful yes last but not least weā€™re going to endĀ  this video with Italian fast food in JapanĀ Ā  because why not we randomly discovered this chainĀ  restaurant in kanazawa and it was surprisinglyĀ Ā

Good we actually ended up eating at this placeĀ  in a few more cities sometimes you just craveĀ Ā  some familiar flavors when youā€™re traveling andĀ  this was a nice option so interesting thing aboutĀ Ā  this restaurant is that you basically fillĀ  out your own order here each of the itemsĀ Ā

Are numbered so you write the number of theĀ  meal you want the quantity any special notesĀ Ā  yes and then you ding the dong the dog onceĀ  youā€™re ready I I I admire the efficiency of it ding the dog I ding the dog ooh the vanoli

Arrived come find Pai Sal tears itā€™sĀ  pretty good for the house wine pastaĀ Ā  has arrived I ordered it with extraĀ  cheese look at thatt the cheese lookĀ Ā  at that H la la looks fine fromĀ  over here looks fine from over

Here M good cheese itā€™s just really nice toĀ  be mixing it up we have intentionally beenĀ Ā  trying to find some International Food as muchĀ  as we love the sushi and the ramen and the oonĀ Ā  you know after a few weeks itā€™s nice to get someĀ  different flavors from around the world so hereĀ Ā

We are with pasta thereā€™s pizza coming and thenĀ  dessert pizza pizza and not just any kind of pizzaĀ Ā  pizza with Buffalo mozzarella oh so this is theĀ  Marita correct no itā€™s the pizza with a buffaloĀ Ā

Mozzarella Iā€™ll show you in the menu itā€™s actuallyĀ  the triple mozzarella let me show you look at thisĀ Ā  this one right over there okay so letā€™s see ifĀ  it can bring a little slice of authentic NapoliĀ Ā

Pizza Naples pizza with us here look at thatĀ  guys look at all that cheese that is the extra cheese oh there go cheese super cheesy bite aĀ  very close interpretation if not the BuffaloĀ Ā  mazzarella and the thing is this isnā€™t like NaplesĀ  Pizza like I donā€™t feel like Iā€™m in Naples we haveĀ Ā

Been there and tried the authentic thing butĀ  this is a very a very good interpretation Iā€™mĀ Ā  enjoying it itā€™s tasty itā€™s very good the onlyĀ  thing now is youā€™re eating it with your handsĀ Ā  but the neapolitans approve perhaps some notĀ  go go at pizza with your hands come on comeĀ Ā

On come on we have tiu and flan for dessertĀ  look at that o la la what a combination allĀ Ā  righty friends starting with the flan theĀ  custard right here that brown caramelized sugar Iā€™ve got to say thatā€™s pretty goodĀ  considering weā€™re half the world away fromĀ Ā

Italy well friends leaving with full belliesĀ  very happy pleas is a gem honest honestly isĀ Ā  the quality exceeded my expectationsĀ  and the price was just amazing I thinkĀ Ā  we what would be 2500 Yen we sure did thatĀ  included wine means and two desserts likeĀ Ā

Te three desserts cuz the FL J Su andĀ  then the little whites with gelato Iā€™mĀ Ā  full Iā€™m satisfied and just great placeĀ  to be honest itā€™s kind of a gem Hidden Gem n

  8. Sam should get a Peak Design grip for his camera, no more dangling camera strap, which I have never seen him use.

  9. How are you communicating with the people in Japan? I understand that most do not speak English. Are you using a translation app?

  10. hey Sam should look into this wrist strap for camera. I notice you holding the camera in hand. this is great let's you relax grip while still holding it.

  12. Such an awesome travel and food guide to Kanazawa. This one reminded me more of a Mark Weins video than anything else. Very awesome!! We went to Sofia this past Friday for a little shopping trip and had lunch at The Sushi Bar (actual name). Most of the time I forget to film or even take pictures of what we eat, but The Sushi Bar was an amazing meal. Thank you guys for giving this wonderful tour.
