These crucial travel insights are vital,  and will help you know what to expect to be   better prepared for your Japan trip! So lets  uncover the latest updates to help you start   planning your dream trip to Japan. But Before we get into the video,

Please remember to like and consider subscribing,  your support will help the channel grow and help   me keep on making more content like this. Say hello for what is surely going   to quickly become a popular spot and  expected to be the world’s largest

Nightly projection mapping display on the Tokyo  Metropolitan Government’s Main Building No. 1  taking place in the Shinjuku district, one of  Tokyo’s most vibrant areas, this new projection   has been submitted for recognition to the  Guinness World Records. The projection will

Cover an impressive area of about 14,000 square  meters, from the fourth to the 32nd floors.  This already popular viewing spot, which draws  both tourists and locals alike will become even   more popular beginning February 25. The shows are scheduled to start at 7

P.m in half-hour intervals and will last  between 10 to 15 minutes each, featuring   varied themes on weekends and public holidays. Cool right?! I’l be checking this one out soon and   maybe a good reason to head to the metropolitan  government buildings free observation deck too!

On the subject of new attractions:  Manga lovers pay attention[NR1] :  In Tokyo, a Meiji Era Western-style building  that was once on the brink of demolition has been   given a new lease on life as a manga exhibition  center, thanks to the efforts of manga artists.

The Former Residence of Theodora Ozaki, located  in Setagaya Ward, was constructed in the Meiji   Era and was Originally set to be demolished in  2020, but the building’s fate took a turn with   financial support from manga artists The renovated site will now feature

A gallery displaying original manga works and  illustrations, complemented by a cafe and a shop, Soon you simply won’t be able to  escape Mount Fujis new climbing   rules regardless of where you start your climb!  In a similar move to Yamanashi Prefectures new  climbing restrictions, starting this summer,

The Shizuoka Prefectural Government is  also implementing new measures to combat   overcrowding and enhance safety on Mount Fuji by  restricting access to trails after 4 p.m. aiming   to put an end to the practice of “bullet  climbing” – which is when people attempt

To climb Japan’s Mount Fuji, in a single effort  to catch the sunrise without an overnight stay.  The new restrictions will apply to  Shizuoka’s three trails: unless you   are staying in mountain hut over night. The good news is that with these changes

Comes an important update that will make things  much easier for travellers planning their trip.  Finally! A system is being developed for online  lodge reservations. Hopefully this incredible   update and change will mean easier planning for  anyone wanting to climb mount fuji! Although

Some huts can currently be booked online, it  is still recommended to book a climbing tour   to secure a place and not miss out. Just remember this Japanese proverb:   “A WISE MAN CLIMBS MT. FUJI ONCE,  ONLY A FOOL CLIMBS IT TWICE.”  Exciting news for those of you  travelling during Cherry blossom season!

Japan’s 4th Sakura forecast has been announced! It’s lookling likely that Tokyo’s cherry blossoms   are set to start flowering March 17,  with full bloom expected around March 28.  This year’s cherry blossom season across Japan  is notably earlier due to higher temperatures,   with blooms anticipated five to 10 days  sooner than typical in many regions.

This marks a special year for cherry blossom  viewing as it’s the first season since 2020   without restrictions on hanami, the  cherry blossom-viewing tradition.  It’s important to remember that the  forecast can change, so it’s wise to   stay updated (another reason to subscribe) Just remember that exploring other areas can

Be a good strategy to ensure you don’t miss  out. Cities like Fukuoka, Kyoto, Hiroshima,   and even Sapporo offer their unique  timelines for cherry blossom viewing,   ranging from the end of March in Fukuoka, Kyoto,  and Hiroshima, to the end of April in Sapporo.

Therefore flexibility in travel plans can really  enhance the cherry blossom experience, allowing   you to immerse yourself into one of Japan’s most  iconic seasonal events across different regions.  On that note, change of tone: If you’ve been following my

Channel for some time now then you’ll know how  much I stress the need to book activities and   tickets in advance so that you don’t miss out.  Especially during Japan’s most busy period!  I’m so excited to announce that I’ve parnered  with Klook, The all in one Japan online

From Shinkansen tickets to hotels and  tours! Give it a go download the app today!  Ok, A few months ago JR announced a price  increase to the regular Nationwide Japan   rail pass and the majority of regional passes.  but the Hokuriku Arch pass connecting Kyoto to

Tokyo Via Kanazawa remained unchanged, UNTIL NOW. Effective 16th March, there have been several key   updates and revisions to the rail pass  making it more expensive but at the same   time providing some positive extensions. The much mentioned Hokuriku Arch Pass:

Has increased from 24,500 to 30,000 yen for 7  days, However, it now boasts enhanced coverage.  It also means a rethink of whether  or not using this pass is worthwhile.  Travellers who might have been enticed to make  a stop in Kanazawa on the way to Kyoto or Osaka

At the original lower price, might instead  now be more willing to cut their losses to   travel faster between only Tokyo and Kanasi using  individual tickets and skip Kanazawa all together.   What are your thoughts? (by the way I highly  recommend including Kanazawa in your itinerary,

Check out my Kanazawa guides to see why! ) other regional passes from that area have also   increased. including The Kansai-Hokuriku  Area Pass: Now priced at 19,000 yen from   17,000 yen for 7 days, but includes  the new Hokuriku Shinkansen line

The Hokuriku Area Pass has jumped from  5,090 to 7,000 yen, but with more coverage.  And, On a positive note the JR-WEST All  Area Pass: Remains at 26,000 yen for 7 days,   but now also includes the new Hokuriku  Shinkansen section, enhancing its value

Without hiking the price – a win for travelers! And For those who secure their tickets before   March 15, 2024, the transition to the  new conditions comes at no extra cost.  Just remember, With the impact of the 2024 Noto  Peninsula Earthquake on transportation services

Within these areas, I highly advise  travelers to always check the latest   operation information and keep upto date. Japan’s recent economic contraction,   which saw it slip behind Germany to  become the world’s fourth-largest economy,   has sparked widespread concern. Yet,there  lies a silver lining for travelers.

The unexpected economic twist, characterized  by a shrinking GDP and a weaker yen,   is setting the stage for a potential even bigger  tourism boom in the Land of the Rising Sun.  The weak yen, now one of the G10’s worst  performers, is great for tourists whose

Currencies suddenly stretch further in Japan. Dining, shopping, and accommodation costs become   significantly cheaper. And This affordability  could lure more international visitors,   keen to explore Japan’s rich culture. Despite the economic gloom, Japan’s   stock market shows resilience, hinting at a robust  undercurrent that could fuel further enhancements

In tourist facilities and services. Simply a potential enriched travel   experience is on the horizon, making  now the perfect time to visit Japan.  For travelers with an eye on global economics,  Japan’s situation offers a live case study on   the impacts of currency fluctuations and economic  strategies on both a national and personal scale.

I believe that this downgrade, represents a rare  opportunity for tourists to experience one of   the world’s best destinations at a value unseen  in recent years. So what are you waiting for?!  Japan continues to change, and theres always  updates to help you be better prepared and

Plan your perfect trip to Japan without being  cought out. So Please condiser subscribing to   help the channel grow, it really does take  multiple hours to put these videos together.  And if you want to support further  please check out my patreon,

  1. going to Japan in april. I still find it challenging to understand the metro/train system. I hope by then I get it otherwise I will keep using taxis to get around lol

  2. What about mask use in Japan, what is the situation now? And what about the expectations for mask use for foreigners?

  3. Going for a week to Osaka. Just one week before the Golden Week. Hopefully the Sakura is still somewhat in bloom.

  4. This just got me so excited for my upcoming trip in 25 days. I nailed the dates of Sakura again 🌸⛩️♥️

  5. So excited 🎉 going to Japan in three weeks. Still deciding is it worth buying JR pass. Thank you for all the information you provide us every time.

  6. I have to keep watching Nathan's channels, because after three weeks in Japan I know less about what is going on, changing, previewing, and opening than I did from outside the country. If I need an update I come here, and frankly if I don't need an update I come here. So my advice is subscribe and follow.

  7. Great update Ninja 🐒 I have to go see the new projection! Sakura are coming so early and I saw some on my trip last week 🌸 also I saw how low the yen has gone, especially for the US people absolutely incredible

  8. Hi, new subscriber here from the Philippines. Will be going to Japan third week of March, wanted to use Klook to book our Sakura tour, sadly your Klook code is valid for US residents only. 😞 Anyway, thank you for the Cherry Blossom forecast info. Love your videos and they're very informative.👍👏

  9. It looks like my last day in Japan in Tokyo will be right at full bloom! I'm ok with having earlier blooms for the rest of my trip, I'm hoping that will make some areas a bit less crowded. I leave in three weeks! The strength of USD to YEN certainly doesn't hurt by desire to go and spend money, other people who have done keep saying how expensive it is, but at the moment is seems pretty comparable to where I live in the US.

  10. Japan in two weeks. I dont know if i need any reservations for local shows or shrines 😅. Also, any recommendations are welcomed lol I'll be in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka about 4 days each city
