Is Nishiki Market in Kyoto a Tourist Trap?

This is Nishiki Market in Kyoto. You can find lots of street food and shops selling souvenirs. A lot of people say it’s a tourist trap but is it? Yes, and no. It is very touristy and the prices of the food are probably a bit higher but overall it was still an enjoyable experience.

We find there is a difference with a lot of places people say are “too touristy” or “overrated”. We try to avoid the outright scams, or places that don’t seem fun. But we think it’s still worth visiting some places that are touristy. They’re touristy for a reason.

Saying that, we also enjoy finding places that only locals know about, or are more off the beaten path.

Anyways, these are the things we ate:
🥩Kobe Beef Skewer
🥖Tempura Stick
🍡Mitarashi Dango
🍤Prawn on the barbie
🐙Tako Tamago (Baby Octopus with egg in its head)
🍓Strawberry Daifuku

We spent a total of ¥3220 which is $33 AUD or $21.43 USD

Speaking of our Pikachu purse the owner of this wagu bee shop said he liked our purse and I believe him because he also has a shop selling Pokémon stuff anyways back to the actual food the coob beef skill was super fatty and soft next up dip loves fried food and couldn’t resist

This tempis stic the lady pointed us inside where we could sit down and eat it was good but probably be better if it was hot now this one dip has always wanted to try it because of nuto remember how yummy they made Dango look let’s just say it didn’t taste like what

We expected I thought it would be a sweet but it’s actually Savory as well I like it next up a spicy prawn skewer taste like what you’d expect okay this one I’ve always wanted to try ever since I saw it online it’s baby octopus with an egg inside its head does anyone know

How they get the egg in there I wasn’t expecting it to be a cold dish all right I’m going to spend the last of our money on strawberry D fuku mission accomplished
