Japan diary | Miyajima, floating torii, food tour, Daishoin, Hiroshima region + momiji manju 🍁

come with us on a tranquil 2-day journey to one of our favourite cities in Japan – Miyajima island – a sacred haven nestled off the coast of Hiroshima region. the picturesque landscapes, the cultural treasures, and the delicious treats are only a few in a million good things that this island have got to offer. we loved Miyajima and its vibrant autumn hues as well as its sense of peace, offering a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

we also love our encounters with the deers of Miyajima — the island’s iconic inhabitants, adding a touch of whimsy and charm to this already enchanting place. the best part was our little food tour — we got to try the signature grilled oysters, skewered conger eel, fish cakes and of course, momiji manju in many forms. we’re already missing it, till next time xx 🍁🦪⛩️🦌🍡
