Yokohama’s Chinatown is over 160 years old and is the largest Chinatown in all of Japan. There are over 250 different shops and restaurants in this neighborhood. While originally home to Chinese immigrants, these days only a few Chinese live and work in this area. The majority of them are either from or descendants of families from the Guangzhou area of China and speak Cantonese.
