Hello TOKYO . This time, we will take a walk around Yanaka and Ueno. I have also uploaded other videos about my trip to Tokyo, so please take a look. Before heading to Yanaka Ginza, I found a queue.

It looks like a tsukudani restaurant that has been in business for 100 years and is loved by locals. There are delicious-looking tsukudani such as beans and shrimp. The braised tuna is appealing because of its nice color. The tsukudani with clams also looks very delicious. It seems to be the most popular.

On this day as well, at 3pm there was a sign saying “Closed due to sold out”. We recommend going in the morning. The grandma who is the poster girl responded cheerfully. Immediately serve it as a “coupled with rice.” ☺Now , let’s head towards Yanaka Ginza under the pleasant winter weather .

We will visit this shop, “Matsunoya,” where baskets are lined up in front of the store. A shop that sells simple daily necessities made by artisans. They sell rough goods with the idea of “creating items that are made from natural materials as much as possible, at affordable prices, and that are easy to use.”

When you see a basket bag, you want it. I’m no longer looking for something good, but rather, deciding which one to buy (lol) .In addition, there were miscellaneous goods lined up that seemed to be easy to use on a daily basis.

Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street is lined with unique shops that will make you want to take a detour . And speaking of Yanaka, there are the “Yuyake Dandan” stairs. The sunset from here must be beautiful. I’m getting tired of walking, so let’s head to a cafe ☕.

This complex is a renovated 68-year-old wooden apartment building, and “HAGI CAFE” is located on the first floor. You can enjoy hand-drip coffee and a menu made with seasonal ingredients purchased from local greengrocers, butchers, and fishmongers.

In addition to the cafe, there is a gallery, and the second floor houses a hotel and a salon that changes daily. The cafe is very popular and full. While you wait, you can also enjoy the exhibits at the gallery next door, “HAGI ART.” Carefully dripped coffee.

Royal milk tea is also comfortingly delicious. The original cup is also cute ❤ Thank you for the meal! The nearby Asakura Sculpture Museum building is registered as a national tangible cultural property. Stroll around Yanaka town. It has a retro atmosphere with a downtown feel.

The area around Teramachi is a little far from the station, so there aren’t that many people, so it’s very calm. “Relax.” That’s a nice name~☺It looks like a cafe that was renovated from a 100-year-old townhouse. I’d like to visit again next time. I walked towards Ueno.

Let’s take a look at this stylish spot. A complex facility that houses a shop and rental space in a Japanese house built in 1937. There are many shops in this area that have renovated old buildings and used them in modern ways.

It’s great to see good old things being put to good use in a modern way. There are shops and facilities surrounding the garden. I would like to visit one of them, “Oshioribu”. A store specializing in salt and olive oil.

Inside the store, we have carefully selected olive oils and balsamic vinegars from all over the world. The store staff will carefully explain the characteristics of each product. They also suggested pairing it with salt and enjoying it like a dressing. Depending on the combination, you can enjoy a variety of flavors.

The bakery next door also seems to be popular. “Former Yoshidaya Liquor Store” is located in the exhibition hall attached to the Shitamachi Museum. The store of Yoshidaya, which operated a liquor store in Yanaka until 1986, is open to the public, and business tools, posters, signboards, etc. are on display.

Perhaps a wish for business prosperity, there were also fine rakes. I can feel the flavor of those days. “Kayaba Coffee”. This is a famous coffee shop in the Yanaka area. Today, we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant called “Yachidaime Denzaemon Meshiya”.

A handmade set meal shop that has a reputation for “you won’t get tired of eating it every day.” You can enjoy Japanese cuisine made by the owner, who is a former ballet dancer. The store has a warm atmosphere. “Tender loin cutlet boiled set meal” has been changed to fillet cutlet.

The meat is moist and juicy. The soup is soaked and delicious. “Set meal of fried chicken and chunky vegetables dressed with black vinegar.” Miso soup also has a lot of ingredients. Vegetables with their skins on are packed with nutrients. Just a hearty vegetable! It’s worth eating.

The black vinegar is effective and the taste is gentle on the body. My mind and body were satisfied. It was delicious, thank you for the meal! I bought some hand-baked rice crackers at a nearby Arare shop. Purchase additional mix to make the second and third hard rice crackers.Just the right hardness.

Tokyo University of the Arts came into view. There are also cafes and parks, making it a fun area to stroll around. You can visit the Kuroda Memorial Museum for free. Photography is prohibited inside the museum, so you can only see the exterior.

Lastly, here is the National Diet Library International Library of Children’s Literature. It’s an elegant building reminiscent of a luxury hotel. When you open the door and a foreign staff comes out… your imagination runs wild. It creates an elegant atmosphere.

As soon as you step inside, you will be greeted by a classical space that resembles a castle. The Imperial Library building, built in 1902, was preserved and reused and opened in 2000. It has a collection of approximately 700,000 children’s books. It’s a dreamlike library.

It’s a spectacular building that even adults can enjoy, and you wouldn’t expect it to be a children’s library (press to open) . You will be overwhelmed by the interior. Like a guest room in a classic hotel… Beautiful brick pattern…You can feel the accumulation of years of love.

In this day and age where information is easily available on the internet, it’s important to cherish the time that satisfies your curiosity and enriches your soul through books. I would love to visit again and enjoy my journey to knowledge in this wonderful space.
