Before coming to Japan someone told me that Osa is even better than Tokyo so my expectations were high but unfortunately my experience in Asuka was not off to a good start as I did the classic travel Mistake today is unfortunately a very sad day because or I don’t to be fair I don’t know how many people actually make this mistake never happened to me before but I always had that fear and that day after months and months of full-time traveling booking you accommodations

Every couple of days basically I finally messed Up em so I just made it to Osaka also known as the street food capital of Japan so that’s very exciting also known as Japan’s second largest city H and I’ve already managed to mess up big time to spare you watching this little run that I recorded because I was a little upset

Long story short I book my accommodations for a wrong dayses like two months in the future and ended up homeless on a side of the road with two very heavy bagpacks and back full of clothes because vintage shopping in Tokyo is very good and I couldn’t

Resist and no I do not blame Osa for this unfortunate event I only have myself to blame but nevertheless it was a bit of a bummer I guess anyone can imagine that this is not exactly a fun situation to be in the Commendation that I booked didn’t have any free spots so I

Couldn’t rebook it and as you know Japan is definitely not the most budget friendly destination so getting something else in Osaka so last minute meant that I definitely had to go way above my budget H but that’s travel life I guess you need to be ready for a situation like this

So I ended up checking into apaa hotel appas are this chain they have here in Japan I stayed in one in Tokyo so I knew they’re kind of nice I mean nice they’re like freest star hotels I think uh but it’s Japan so everything is very clean and very

Proper the first place I’ll be exploring here in Osa is Doon B and basically every single guide on the Internet is going to tell you that this is this is the place where you should go when you come here so who am I to um argue with every single guide on the internet Right as we’re approaching the famous dorei area the streets are getting more and more hectic there’s so many restaurants here shops street food signs lies people basically so much of everything and we made it oh my God it is actually really cool and I’m here right for the sunset the best time of

The day this area is especially popular for street food and the most popular street food here is takoyaki takoyaki are these bowl shaped things with octopus inside and it is apparently something you have to try here I’m going to be honest with you this is not something that sounds very

Appetizing to me but apparently this is like the number one food that Osaka is known for so obviously I am going to try it because I’m an adventurous traveler and I only think that I can spot a place where you can get them can you see that huge red

Octopus something tells me that you can get octopus there so I guess this is the right place to get it because look at the line I don’t know if you can see but trust me it is very long but I guess I’m going to stand in it because we’re already here

Right okay so let’s try this thing I was like what is this this is chopsticks I did hear that you’re supposed to wait for like at least 5 minutes before you start eating because it is very hot and I can see that it’s still steaming so I

Should probably not eat it because I will 100% burn myself if there’s anyone out there who will burn themselves it’s me this is definitely better than I expected so it does actually have a pretty nice gooey consistency and it’s quite good very salty and like very like Rich taste

Good morning guys should we start this Vlog here in the middle of the street uh it’s not that busy I mean now carts are coming okay wait let me remove myself today is unfortunately a very sad day because it’s my last full day in Japan

So I do want to cry I do want to cry because I do not want to leave Japan to be honest I want to move here maybe maybe not necessary to Osaka but Tokyo and Kyoto these two places 100% have my heart I do like Osaka don’t get me wrong

I think it’s a very nice city but before coming here I even heard someone saying that I might like it more than Tokyo and that is certainly not the case for me after walking around for a bit I kind of do understand what they

Man even though it’s a bit of a sad day I I came up with a very fun plan how to spend this last day in Japan I’m going to go and get myself Machi from this super fancy store then I’m going to go and get myself Machi from this like very

Traditional Japanese Machi shop and then this is not the end I’m also going to get myself some convenience store Machi and then I’m going to try them all and like compare fun right okay here it is the first shop oh my god look how nice it looks look so nice

I thank you too I got it that one little machi was 600 Yen uh so that’s quite a lot for one I think you could probably get like five for that and convenience store but that’s the whole point right uh it’s a very beautiful shop and the

Lady was also so nice and she explained to me what Mau was and everything so very kind and we made it to our second destination so you can see this looks way more traditional more like hy/ cozy oh my God this whole thing is 150n and I

As I told you uh I just got one for like 5 or even 600 and look how much different stuff I have oh my God I don’t oh that I’ve heard about I’ve never tried it this is fried Machi no I’m just extremely confused because I just want

To try everything and I don’t know what to so many stuff here so I decided to go for this one and then this one as well looks so good I’m so excited to to Mai here we 310 Yen although one thing that I got is like rice packed in a leaf

So I don’t think it’s aochi I think it’s something else but it looked really interesting I’ve never tried it before but I’ve seen it here in many places so I decided to give it a try where we’re walking right now this kind of shopping arcade with a roof is

Also something very uh typical here in Japan I know that especially back in the days they used to build a lot of shopping arcades like this one which is very convenient especially today because it is unfortunately raining so bummer last but not least here’s our Mai selection they have a couple of

Different types uh with soybean yeah well soybean uh red bean red bean and the only okay this one I haven’t tried but there are four of them and I feel like it’s too much this I’m not a biggest fan of because it has these like things inside that I didn’t

Like this I had yesterday it was very good just typical Machi with red bean paste so I think I’m going to go for this one they call it rice cake in English and then it has matcha paste inside so yeah we’ll try it regarding to what I said earlier uh

About someone telling me that I might enjoy Osaka more than Tokyo after walking around for a bit I kind of do understand what they meant the thing about Tokyo is that it’s just so big it’s so massive that it can be very overwhelming and it’s extremely extremely crowded there are just tons of

People everywhere and here in alaka yeah like the the you know the main areas are crowded but it’s just not the same as Tokyo and I think it’s just the way the city is built it’s just there’s just more space it’s more spacious the streets are much wider so it definitely

Does feel a bit more calm but at the same time it is a huge City I mean the population is like 19 million I mean that’s like four times more than the country where I grew up and also it’s kind of funny I wanted to show you the

Map because as you can see the way uh Osa has been designed like all the streets are very like even or is that how you call it even it’s kind of like in the US you know where everything is just straight you can measure distance with blogs it is unfortunately raining so I

Had to go back to the hotel again again and change and grab my trusted umbrella which I luckily bought in Kyoto so now I’m covered like literally covered but we’re not giving up we’re not giving up we’re going to Osa Castle you cannot come to Osa without not seeing OA Castle

It’s like the most famous landmark probably I have already seen it I’m I’m not going to lie but only at night so yesterday after coming back from Nara I decided to walk to OA Castle just to see it and it was really [Applause] pretty and we made it alsoa Castle is in

The background it’s very pretty I came to this area to eat uh oh but I actually had no idea that it’s that cool like it’s probably like the most lively place I’ve ever seen like the amount of everything here and so many cool Restaurants Even though weather got a little crazy towards the end of the day I still had a really good time today and now it’s finally time to eat my Machi I’m really curious of the expensive one I just calculated how much it actually was the most expensive one I got was six almost

600 Yen so that’s like $45 and the cheapest one the convenience store one is only $1 so big difference I’m very excited to try it but I’m going to film that one for my Instagram SL Tik Tok so if you want to watch it check out my

Instagram it’s too difficult to film it with like two cameras you know some things in life you just have to choose anyways I hope you guys enjoy this Vlog and if you haven’t seen my otter Japan Vlogs check them out and I just want to say Japan I love you so

Much I expected to like it I expected to be really excited about Japan but honestly I did not expect that I will love it as much as I do Japan is one of my favorite travel experiences ever like in in my entire life at this point I

Wish that I could tell you what’s next like what’s happening next because obviously I’m leaving Japan tomorrow and I’m flying yeah I’m I I mean I know where I’m flying but it it’s it’s just all a little confusing I don’t know what I’m doing but you’ll see soon I hope you guys

Enjoy my pen series I’ll see you soon bye
